Too busy taking her extended maternity leave during the pandemic to even have a functional office, she's never there and doors were locked up. I'm sure so many people did as I did and found somewhere else to go during this time. Next time I came by they're not even there anymore. Don't know if they moved or shut down. The way they let that one MA handle absolutely everything, no wonder she got things fouled up from time to time. I'm astonished that she was able to do as much as she did get right, but they were always understaffed, especially after moving into their new location and keeping the doors locked and not answering phones, even not just for patients but for patient advocates. Couldn't have been worse. One of my last visits I asked what happened to the other girl that used to help you in the old building and was told that she was " no longer with them. Then I saw her walking down the hallway. But then when I asked for clarification, she's working on a "special project ", and can't answer phones. I can't express how little the daughter gave a rat's a$$ about anyone but herself and her own kids. Save your money and time if they're even still in business at another location, look for somewhere else because you deserve better.

It was a very discouraging experience for him, and nearly deterred him from seeking help. Dr. Espinoza, himself, is not the problem. His secretary, who is the first line of interaction for patients, is the issue. She is rude, condescending, and repeatedly gives blatantly inaccurate information. --When we first reached out to the office, she talked over me repeatedly, insisting that our insurance had a deductible, because, "everyone has a deductible." I repeatedly explained to her that our insurance does not have a deductible. I was so put off by her argumentative and aggressive behavior that I started looking into other providers. But because Dr. Espinoza had good reviews, we decided to give this office a chance. -- She gave my husband an appointment for his first therapy appointment (Friday), which he was highly anticipating, but when he showed up, the office was closed. No courtesy call. No apology. He called the following business day to see what happened, and she claimed that she made the appointment for a completely different day the following week (Tuesday). But my husband wrote down the date and time immediately after that initial phone call, and there was no way to confuse a Friday for a Tuesday the following week. -- The day of his rescheduled appointment, my husband wanted to ensure the office was open prior to showing up again. So he called 3 times and received no answer. He drove there anyway, and within 1 minute of his last phone call, he walked in to the secretary having a private phone conversation, laughing, and talking about what she ate that day. He asked her why she didn't answer his multiple calls, and she replied that he should've left a message. Again, no apology. -- The session, itself, was fine with Dr. Espinoza --She then charged my husband double the copay because she insisted that this *therapy* visit fell under "specialty provider," (as in a cardiologist or nephrologist) - not under "mental health provider." --Lastly, when giving my husband his next appointment, she told him "Tuesday, June 6th." My husband corrected her and said, "June 6 is a Thursday," to which she responded, "that's what I said." This is exactly how the first appointment error was made. This was such an unnecessarily frustrating and disheartening experience for a man who is already feeling vulnerable taking the first step to seek therapy. This woman is not competent to manage any kind of office, much less an office that requires decency, compassion, and sensitivity, such as a therapist's.

So I wrote him on the app describing my anxiety and severe depression, he replied with call your insurance provider for mental health services. I understand that he may not be that kind of doctor, but the state of mind I was in he may as well have told me to go F myself. I mean nothing, not even a suicide prevention hotline number, a list of doctors that could help, nothing. It also may be my lack of self-worth and self hating but every time he replies to me, I feel like I bothering him and I shouldn't have to feel that about the person who I'm supposed to trust with my health.

He said that I only have days/weeks to live due to kidney failure. My primary kidney doctor said days ago that I didn't need emergency D treatment. Dr Alix pushed hospice to myself and my daughter like a used car salesman. When I refused he said he needed to take me back to hospital where I was released the day before after a four day hospital stay. IF IT SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO MAKE MONEY OFF A DYING WOMAN... IT IS! I will get transported to Cedars Sinai in L.A. before I let them profit off of me. If I only have a short time left, I want to enjoy my time with grace, dignity and respect. I am 84. I have my BA from San Francisco State and my Masters from UCLA. Dr Alix also spoke to me about religion, something he isn't suppose to talk about. He asked if my daughter and I are Christians. He asked if I still attend Church. Dr. Alix won't be allowed to treat me again and I am disappointed with Kaiser for sending him to me.

Mistakes were made because she was juggling too much for one person. Very frustrating experience for the patients. One time they referred me out to a place that doesn't take my insurance for an X-ray or something, and then denied that could have possibly happened. Then it went from bad to worse when they moved to the new location on Grand and the pandemic started. The office was completely nonfunctional during that time, keeping doors locked and not answering phones. It was being run by her daughter at that time Dr. Swapna Phadnis, and ran her mother's practice into the ground, IMO. She was seemingly never there even after her maternity leave. She seemed to take the whole pandemic as extended maternity leave. She had no idea what surgery I was trying to get her to clear me for up to the day before and then she wouldn't do it. I had to reschedule my surgery from that Thursday to the following Monday. The advocate my insurance assigned to me couldn't get through to them on the phone either and encouraged me to change primary care. One of my last visits there I asked about the second person helping that they used to have when they were on Rt. 66, and I was told she was "no longer with them". Then I saw her walking down the hall. Gaslighting. When I asked for clarification, I was told well she's here working on a "special project", unavailable to answer phones or help with patients. Then when they told me they would not be taking my insurance anymore I was actually happy to be pushed to look for something better for myself. I did find another woman doctor that I like but that office is also understaffed and frustrating mistakes happen. Not to the level of Dr. V's office was running. I drove by after visiting the nearby urgent care and noticed that they're no longer there on Grand. Hopefully they went out of business but I have a feeling that they just moved back to the old location after that building was remodeled on Rt. 66. I wouldn't go back to Dr. Phadnis or that experience ever again.
