They helped us preparing for tenants as well, such as installing blinds instead of curtains on some of the windows. Their customer web portal is nice too. You can get reports and status and have a place to quicky find documents and find status. They helped with tax suggestions as well, which did help so we didn't have an unexpected tax bill. read more

If you value your time and your money, rent somewhere else. My experience with California Leasing was a weeks-long headache from start to finish. Start with the fees. They automatically enroll you in a "Resident Benefits Package" ($50.95/mo) and a "Preferred Rate Internet" plan ($70/mo) on top of rent and present them as mandatory. I had to push repeatedly just to opt out, got written confirmation that I could, and then they sent terms to the owner with both fees added right back on, plus listed a minor in our household that doesn't exist. If I hadn't caught it, I'd have been locked into charges I never agreed to. Communication was worse. Emails ignored for days. I called the office over and over with no answer. At one point I had to personally track down my own prior-landlord verification because they couldn't get it done, basically doing their job for them just to keep my application moving. The final straw: when we revisited the unit, it had mold. I had already submitted the deposit through their portal before signing anything, and then had to fight just to get confirmation my money wouldn't be taken. Disorganized, unresponsive, and stacked with junk fees. I withdrew and would recommend renting from just about anyone else. read more

Only thing is when you to their website to apply it shows multiple applications already pending for the 1 property and we didn't have $120 or $60 each adult to give away to be considered, while the owner picks who they want so we didn't apply. ANNOYED! We decided to renew our lease, and we knew that the rent would be going up. But what we did not know, in addition to the new payment, was a little clause hidden on pages 34 and 35 of the lease agreement - an addendum stating that there was going to be an additional $50 for a "Resident Benefits Package." What is this bull****?!! The total rent with this addition $50 was NOT disclosed on the first page.
