The food was good and the quality was great. Service was also good, and overall I enjoyed the experience. We made a reservation, but unfortunately our table was located between the kitchen and the front entrance, which was a very busy walkway. Since it was a crowded Saturday evening, the restaurant was extremely loud and noisy. It was difficult to hear the people at our table, which made conversation challenging. The cocktail was also good and well made. Unfortunately, our evening was cut short because the fire alarm went off, so we had to leave early. Parking in front of the restaurant is limited, but there is a larger parking lot behind the restaurant if you drive uphill. Just keep in mind that on weekends it may still be difficult to find an available parking spot. read more

Came here after watching a movie since it was one of the few restaurants open on New Years Day. I brought my whole extended family of 14. They were able to seat us right away. We ordered a bunch of apps, lettuce chicken wraps, avocado rolls, guacamole white chips, dynamo shrimps. We also ordered a bunch of pizzas and entrees. I ordered the Thai Crunch salad which was tasty. We also ordered some butter cakes for dessert. Everything was delicious. Our waiter Diego was really good. Never did I think I would spend so much in CPK but my bill was around $700 including tip. It was expected since my family ordered a lot of good food but it was still a surprise. My party of 14 came on New Year's Day, not too many restaurants were open, I appreciated the people who gave up their holiday. All the appetizers were on point, the dynamo shrimp, lettuce wraps, white corn guac & chips, avocado club rolls. We ordered a mix of pizzas for the table, Margherita pizza, mushroom pizza, cacio pepe pizza, Thai chicken pizza. The Thai chicken pizza was not good, the Margherita pizza was too oily, rest were delicious. The Thai crunch salad, California cobb salad were both delicious. The shrimp scampi and bolognese spaghetti was satisfying. For dessert, the butter cakes, some plain, some with ice cream, and the mini cakes excluding the bacon hit the spot. Geneva, IL, CPK. Bad news. Our party of five arrived at 12:10 PM on Monday, but we could not be seated immediately and would have 10 -15 minute wait. One Problem was it was 90 degrees out, hot and humid, and the CPK lobby with waiting benches was not air conditioned. Rather then stand around we took kids to the toy store and came back in 15 minutes only to find out it's yet another 10-15 minutes wait. I suggest another restaurant but the GKs like CPK. OK. So, I have the 3 grandkids try and cram 3 into one booth bench and they manage to fit. So I flag the host down and say "we can fit the kids into in a booth, so we'll take a booth instead of tables." Nope, can't do that. Even though there's 7 or 8 empty booths, those booths are not available because there's insufficient staff to service the customers. That's a red flag to me, because lack of servers could also mean cold or burned food, wrong orders delivered to the table, stuff forgotten, the litany of what happens when management doesn't really care about keeping the business running like it should. I'm not up for another sweat run outside, so I take my leave to go get hot sandwich at Potbelly's down the block while the grandkids and wife hang around until they can get a table and maybe a server and who knows what kind of food. Ironically, the Schaumburg CPK does not have these kinds of problems. Something is amiss in St. Charles. read more

We came around 2 PM on a Saturday. I know we must've come at a very busy time because the service was very very slow and it took a very long time to get our order taken. The appetizer came at the same time as the pizza. It took a long time to get a refill on water. The pizza was delicious if you like oregano. The guacamole was good, but I'm used to guacamole that's actually smashed up. Otherwise I consider that just avocados in a bowl, but it was still good. If you join the rewards program, you get a free appetizer so our avocados in a bowl with corn was free. read more

Amazing and delicious taste. We are in absolute love for this place. The service great and they explain everything clearly. The ambience inside is very good. The place is loud, bright and feel cozy. There is parking available right in that mall where the restaurant is located. This place is a family friendly and business casual. We can dine and carry out too. California Pizza Kitchen used to be one of my favorite places to eat. We were in the area today and stopped in for an early lunch. The restaurant was quiet and not too busy. Our server was pleasant and explained the changes since we had last dined there. We both ordered my favorite BBQ chopped chicken salad. This salad used to be freshly tossed with ranch and had a nice BBQ drizzle on top. Today, I couldn't really tell if it was tossed or mashed. It was not crisp as usual. It tasted as if the tortilla chips had been soaked prior to serving. The chicken was also mashed with the BBQ sauce. Definitely not a fan today. I ordered a strawberry mocktail that was quite tasty! We asked our server for boxes and said we were "all set." 20 minutes passed, and she never reappeared. We had to stop the manager and ask for boxes and our check - she took it from there. I'm not sure how our server got lost as she only had two tables. I was fairly disappointed overall with both the food and service. Would not recommend a return visit anytime soon. read more

We went here and on a Saturday during lunch. The waiter was slow. No one gave us silverware. The bread was low quality and low quantity. It took forever to get any service from that waiter. Rude! We've been coming here for years during all seasons and have never been treated like we were today. We sat outside on a 73/75 degree day with a breeze. At about 4:20 they started putting the shades down. I asked them not to put the one down by our table. We were the only ones outside. A lady walks out to us 5 min later to tell me she is the general manager and this is the time they put the shades down. With a lot of attitude: even my kids said wow!! 1. Who was it hurting? 2. What happened to the customer being important? 3. Why so rude? I wasn't, I just asked if they could keep ours up. Our food was coming out so we were done by 5. Put them down then. 4. Sadly, CPK in the freezer aisle is my preference to dining in these days. Very busy lunch hour today which I'm sure accounted for some of my frustration. First, I ordered badly, I'll admit it. I felt rushed and should have taken more time. I got the only flatbread on the app menu. It was edible but not good. I salted it, that helped, but I would never recommend it. Then I ordered a half Cobb. I cannot stand smoke flavor and the bacon was so overwhelmingly smoky, it ruined the salad for me. I should have read the menu better. I also wish the waitress would have pointed me to the lunch duos section of the menu. I would have been much happier and saved a buck or two. I basically ordered just like that menu anyway. My son loves the CPK frozen four cheese pizza, so I asked the server what he should order since we didn't see it on the menu. We settled on the five cheese without the tomatoes on top. It arrived, no tomato sauce. I mean, seriously, did she not process that? Should I have? I asked for her recommendation. Then she charged us $1 for a side or sauce. Frustrating. The waits were long for the check and water refills. I never got my second water. I may have actually ordered a drink, but she never even asked so I stuck with water. The last thing that really got me was the to go boxes. She took the pizza back, then my salad, wrapped it but no bag. Check out my photo. I would give a zero but i can't. so i give it a 1. to start off let me tell you that i was under 18 and i was with 2 other teens. we were seated and got our menus. we were seated at a table with a rip in the seats. we requested a kids menu and the hostess had NO ISSUE giving it too us. we sat down and ordered drinks. i asked for a lemonade and the waiter persuaded me to get a strawberry lemonade for 4.49!! no free refills!! then he immediately came back and rushed us to order our meals. then my friend requested a kids hawaiian pizza ($7.99). he told her NO! he said because we "looked" older then 10 we weren't allowed to order kids meals (EVEN THOUGH WE ARE KIDS) because he would get in trouble. now you may be wondering whats the issue? i am a hard working teen who has very little money and only had a budget of $20. i was planning to order a kids mac and cheese (7.99) which i've had many times before the knew the low quality the meal was. instead i had to order adult mac and cheese (16.49). while waiting for our food my stomach began to hurt bc i was unsure if i had enough money for my crappy mac. the food arrived in a massive fancy dish where the bowl was surrounded with extra flat bowl with no food in it. the actual food was in an extremely shallow and small. it was smaller than the kids portion!! also, if you've had this mac and cheese before you know the low, Velvita quality cheese your getting. my meal was disgusting. it was like noodles and liquid clay that solidified in 15 seconds. it was so gross. also, the adult hawaiian pizza was 20.49 looked like walmart ham with grass and moldy pineapple. so to conclude, this place in a bad place. our server was a money laundering scammer. safe to say i will not be returning until they fire the money laundering guy who looked like the ghost face killer in scream 5.that's all bye bye. read more

I am SO excited! CPK has come out with a cauliflower crust and I absolutely love it! I especially like the texture. It is a little firm and similar to a real flour crust. You do taste the cauliflower a little bit but in a good way. Even if you don't have a dietary need for it I highly recommend trying it. I want to draw your attention to a good special they currently have going on Monday through Thursday. It's called "Pick Two" but you actually get three choices. You pick a pizza (not all the pizzas are available, but their most popular selections are) and then a salad, and finally a small plate or desert. The salads are a generous portion in that they are a half portion of whatever salad you choose. read more

Bad service! This place has always had good food and have added more to menu, that's all good but the service is the pitts. The host a Hispanic lady had a bulldog looking face mad at the world. She sat us placed menus on table plates and walked away. Went in last Sunday around 6:30 - there was a bit of a wait..it looked more due to staffing issues. We waited - the hostess was super nice and communicated to us about how long the wait was. I think it was 15 mins. Our server "Ivan" was GREAT! The Szechwan Dumplings - yum! Partner had Kung Pao Spaghetti (AGAIN!) and swears it's the best. I tried the chicken tequila fettuccine. The First time i went to this California pizza kitchen I was very happy with my visit. The wow factor was broken. staff was poppin and nice. The general manager especially got a 10/10.
