    Chicken Parmesan
    Lindsay L.

My mom and I came here for my birthday dinner. We got half margarita and half pepperoni pizza as an appetizer, it was so delicious. She ordered the salmon and I ordered the Parmesan chicken with pesto pasta. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The service was good, our waitress was attentive. The ambiance has a nice view especially if you eat outside. It's not a huge restaurant but the view and setting is nice.

My husband and I visited here for the first time recently to attend our friends' graduation party, and we were very impressed. The restaurant has a beautiful aesthetic that feels modern, bright, and inviting. The private room where the party was held was perfect and conveniently located right off the main dining room, which made it feel both intimate and connected to the rest of the restaurant. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, consistently checking in and making sure everyone had the drink refills they wanted. She did a great job managing a larger group, which really added to the positive experience. The food was phenomenal. As a starter, we had the prosciutto and fig bruschetta, which was a standout. I had never tried anything like it before, but I absolutely loved the balance of sweet and salty flavors. It was unique, well prepared, and a great way to start the meal. For the main course, we sampled a variety of dishes, including pastas, chicken parmesan, and the wood-fired pizza. Everything we tried was flavorful, and there were no complaints from anyone at the table. I loved the margherita pizza and the pepperoni pizza! I also ordered the Ibisco Fizz mocktail, which had an amazing balance of hibiscus tea, peach, and lemon flavor with a bubbly texture from the soda. I'd order this again, too! Overall, this was a wonderful first visit with great food, service, and atmosphere. I would love to come back for dinner in the near future to try more items from the menu.

What a cute place! I had been here several times back in the day when it was Neo, but I hadn't been to Gia Mia yet. I came here while I was in town with my friend after we had done some shopping, and her fiance joined us. Everything looked and smelled amazing. I wasn't planning on getting lunch during our excursion so I had already eaten, but I wish I hadn't because the salad and pizza lunch combo looked incredible. I ended up ordering the mercato dei fiori mocktail, which was very good (and very instagrammable lol). The patio seating is great, and I appreciate that they have both a shaded area and large umbrellas to help prevent the sun from baking you while you eat. I definitely want to come back, and next time I'll make sure I don't eat lunch first so that I can take advantage of the lunch special.

Came here for a lunch and was so delighted with food and the service! I tried the eggplant parmigiana and it was done so beautifully! Always love coming here!

Food: Short Rib Gnocchi - the first bite was delicious though immediately clear the gravy was very salty. The meat itself wasn't as salty, and was the Star of the show. The gnocchi were rectangular and were like plush pillows. I was really impressed with the carrots. Wild Mushroom Sacchietti - we had to sub in broccolini instead of the usual spinach. This was delicious though it seemed like it needed meat. Parking: Park in the garage Bathrooms: On one side there was an all gender one-person bathroom. On the other were the Men's/Women's bathrooms (more than one could enter).

This restaurant's vibe is pretty chill with cozy lighting, light wood tables & hip leather chairs. The place was clean inside and out. The service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Friday dinner rush. Our server was friendly, though. We opted to sit outside because there was no wait, although it was a bit chilly at 61°F. While there were overhead heaters, they were all angled inward, so those of us at outward tables didn't feel much warmth. The food we ordered was decent. The calamari was enjoyable, esp with the lemon aioli sauce, tho' it lacked the desired crispiness. The Caesar salad was underwhelming & the carbonara didn't have the robust flavor I was hoping for, with only a few small bacon pieces. The non-dairy pizza was surprisingly good despite the absence of cheese. We may have chosen the wrong dishes to assess the restaurant fairly. I believe it deserves another chance, although perhaps not in the immediate future.

Reliably excellent. I've used Gia Mia for catering, for girls' night, and for date night... the food is consistently fresh and fantastic and the service is attentive and efficient. If a mistake is made, Gia Mia WILL make it right. A family favorite.

Father's Day without dad was hard, but it was spent at a beautiful outside restaurant. Food was great, could have been more hot when served but very tasty. The drinks were delicious and the service was great! Definitely coming back.

    Lasagna

So long overdue, everything on the menu is delicious but today we did takeout and I ordered their lasagna. Like whoa.. this is gonna be good for like three or four meals for me. Basil and sausage and great Italianess all throughout it my kiddos get a Bruno every time. Never fails, the best!

Their stuffed crust pizza is unlike any other type of deep dish, so cheesy & delish! I also had their arancini, it is some of the best I have ever had, stuffed with cheese & spinach it will leave you wanting more! Their Cesar salad is so good as well, you can get a big one to share and it's more than enough. Their pasta & other appetizers are all great too. All of their locations have been a great experience. Service at each location is different, most being spectacular with a couple times I've had a not so friendly waitress. Otherwise service is quick & attentive, and very good. We decided to give it a try because, for once, we figured we'd stay somewhat local instead of making our usual 45 minute drive into Chicago for dinner. Lesson learned. First, our waitress Jasmin was nice and did her job. I want to make that clear because the customer service issue at the end was not really with her. We ordered a small veggie pizza with sausage and pepperoni on HALF because my wife doesn't eat sausage or pepperoni. Pretty straightforward request. We were told about 25 minutes for the pizza. It was closer to 35, but honestly, no big deal. We ordered a Caesar salad, bread and a few beers while we waited. We also ordered the baked cavatelli to share. The pasta itself had a good texture, but the sauce was nothing special. I probably should have asked what exactly it was baked with because I wasn't expecting the runny ricotta that came with it. Eventually the pizza and pasta arrived together. Jasmin even pointed out the half of the pizza that supposedly didn't have meat. Plot twist: there was no meatless half. The entire pizza had sausage and pepperoni. We literally went through every slice looking for this mysterious vegetarian half. Apparently it existed only in spirit. The small pizza had six slices. I was hungry and had already waited 35 minutes, so I ate three slices, exactly half of the pizza. My wife ate the pasta because she couldn't eat her half of the pizza. I wasn't interested in sitting there hungry for another 35 minutes waiting for them to start over. We ordered everything to share, so at least one of us might as well eat the pizza. We told Jasmin, she agreed it was made incorrectly and said she would let the kitchen know. Rather than extending dinner another 35 minutes for Pizza Attempt #2, we asked for a small cheese pizza to go. We figured my wife could eat it when we got home and that would resolve the whole thing. Then the bill arrived. There was a charge for the cheese pizza. I told Jasmin I thought there must have been a misunderstanding because we assumed the cheese pizza was replacing the half of the original pizza my wife couldn't eat. She explained that management wouldn't do that because we had "clearly eaten" the other pizza. Well, yes. I ate three slices. Exactly half of a six slice pizza. The half that was supposed to have sausage and pepperoni in the first place. My wife's half was the half they got wrong. I jokingly told Jasmin that had I known the rules of this pizza negotiation beforehand, I would have gladly surrendered the remaining three slices and asked management to replace them with half a cheese pizza. Apparently I should have preserved the evidence. Jasmin told us that if it were up to her, she would have just given us the replacement pizza, but management made the decision not to. The best part? We never actually met a manager. Nobody came to our table. Nobody asked what happened. Nobody apologized. Nobody tried to fix it. Management apparently reviewed the Great Pizza Case of 2026 from an undisclosed location and determined that because I ate exactly my half of their incorrectly made pizza, my wife could either pay for another pizza or go without. We chose go without. We took the leftover pasta home, left the remaining half of the incorrect pizza sitting there and walked out without the cheese pizza. We still tipped Jasmin well because I'm not going to punish the waitress for a decision she didn't make. As for the food itself, the pizza was incredibly bland. The sauce had almost no flavor. We passed Pal Joey's, Riverview Pizza and Ella's on the way there, all places we've eaten at and enjoyed, and afterward we were wondering why we didn't just stop at one of them. I hate to say it, but Pizza Hut has more flavor in its sauce. Then, apparently determined to make one more bad decision tonight, I read the recent Yelp reviews AFTER dinner. Those probably should have been our warning not to step foot in the place. Mistakes happen. If they had made the pizza wrong, apologized and simply replaced the half my wife couldn't eat, I probably wouldn't even be writing this review two hours later. Instead, management somehow managed to turn three slices of a small pizza into the most memorable part of the evening. Unfortunately, the food wasn't nearly as memorable. This was our first and absolutely our last visit to Salerno's on the Fox. Between the bland food and management's handling of something that should have been incredibly easy to fix, there's no reason for us to ever come back. And just to be clear, I wouldn't eat here again even if management offered me a free cheese pizza. Although apparently that's not something I need to worry about.

Unfortunately, it was a flop. We spent over $100 expecting high-quality, local pizza, but were left wondering what all the hype was about. The sauces were bland and barely noticeable, the crust was dry and completely lacking in flavor, and the pizza overall felt low-effort. I specifically asked for extra toppings on one of the pizzas, but what we received hardly qualified as "extra." It felt like a waste of money. This was meant to be a treat for my family and guests, but I could barely eat more than one slice per box. I ended up giving most of it away just to avoid having to deal with leftovers. The crust, especially, was a huge letdown--more like a cracker than pizza dough. I enjoy thick crusts or even a thinner style, but this was just too dry and crunchy to enjoy. Really wish the quality lived up to the price point. This place was unfortunately not for us.
