We usually order GIA MIA for delivery, so we're already familiar with--and love--quite a few of their dishes. This time, my husband and I decided to have a dinner date and actually dine in at the St. Charles location for the 1st time, which gave us the perfect opportunity to try a few new things along with some of our favorites. We started with the Italian Farm Salad to share and a bowl of Tuscan White Bean Soup. Such a nice touch that they split the salad onto two separate plates for us without us even having to do it ourselves. The salad was fresh and bright, and the soup was so warm, flavorful, and comforting. Our server, Izzy, was absolutely the BEST! She was so sweet, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. I wanted the Chicken Parmesan but asked if I could substitute the marinara with Bolognese for an upcharge while still getting the marinara on the side. OMG... I think I found my new favorite dish! It was SO good. I might just have to call it the "Izzy Chicken Parm" from now on because I'm not sure I'll ever be able to explain the order again and get it exactly the way Izzy put it in for me! My husband loves their Pasta Carbonara, so of course he had to stick with his usual. We also decided to try something new and ordered the wood-fired Prosciutto & Arugula pizza. After a few bites, we realized it just wasn't for us and seemed a little undercooked. We mentioned it to Izzy, and she couldn't have been nicer about it. She immediately offered to have a different pizza made for us and even offered to box up the first one for us to take home. We ended up switching to the Pear & Caramelized Onion pizza, which we've had before and already know we enjoy. So our dinner ended up being the perfect mix of trying something new and sticking with a few favorites. We absolutely love the food at GIA MIA, but Izzy's wonderful service made this visit especially memorable. My mom and I came here for my birthday dinner. We got half margarita and half pepperoni pizza as an appetizer, it was so delicious. My husband and I visited here for the first time recently to attend our friends' graduation party, and we were very impressed. I had never tried anything like it before, but I absolutely loved the balance of sweet and salty flavors. It was unique, well prepared, and a great way to start the meal. Everything we tried was flavorful, and there were no complaints from anyone at the table. I loved the margherita pizza and the pepperoni pizza! What a cute place! I had been here several times back in the day when it was Neo, but I hadn't been to Gia Mia yet. I came here while I was in town with my friend after we had done some shopping, and her fiance joined us. Everything looked and smelled amazing. I wasn't planning on getting lunch during our excursion so I had already eaten, but I wish I hadn't because the salad and pizza lunch combo looked incredible. I ended up ordering the mercato dei fiori mocktail, which was very good (and very instagrammable lol). The patio seating is great, and I appreciate that they have both a shaded area and large umbrellas to help prevent the sun from baking you while you eat. I definitely want to come back, and next time I'll make sure I don't eat lunch first so that I can take advantage of the lunch special. read more

Honestly if I could leave a 0 star; I would. Ordered stinger pizza and pesto chicken. Pizza was cold and wet toppings would all fall off when picking up. Pesto chicken was ok needs more flavor some salt IDK. Server Grayce was very nice but didn't really check on us. We came on a Tuesday around 4pm which I understand is a slow time but all the waitstaff were sitting in the corner of the restaurant talking about customers that were on the patio. Meanwhile, there are bugs flying around the restaurant and some tables were not completely clean from previous diners. Also, the hostess was running food instead of the servers (wasn't busy) and why does your restroom not have hot water for the sink; talk about a health code issue. This restaurant's vibe is pretty chill with cozy lighting, light wood tables & hip leather chairs. The place was clean inside and out. The service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Friday dinner rush. Our server was friendly, though. We opted to sit outside because there was no wait, although it was a bit chilly at 61°F. While there were overhead heaters, they were all angled inward, so those of us at outward tables didn't feel much warmth. The food we ordered was decent. The calamari was enjoyable, esp with the lemon aioli sauce, tho' it lacked the desired crispiness. The Caesar salad was underwhelming & the carbonara didn't have the robust flavor I was hoping for, with only a few small bacon pieces. The non-dairy pizza was surprisingly good despite the absence of cheese. We may have chosen the wrong dishes to assess the restaurant fairly. I've been to the Geneva location a handful of times but truth be told I think the St Charles location is so much better. Parking is so much easier since it's right next to the main garage in downtown St Charles and there is so much more space inside the actual restaurant. We made reservations for a Saturday night and got a perfect corner table near the window. Our waiter, Ben, was very attentive and organized and the buser was on top of clearing out dirty dishes. We tried the prosciutto and fig bruschetta to start which was absolutely amazing. The bread was thick and soft and the flavor is almost too good to describe. For our meal, we shared the quattro formaggi and pear and caramelized onion pizza. Both were very different but amazing. The four cheese pizza wasn't too cheese and the pear pizza had just the right topping to crust ratio. The balsamic glaze is incredible! While visiting St. Charles last Saturday my wife and I were looking for a cozy restaurant to enjoy al fresco dining and live music. We ventured into several locations in the downtown area before settling into the outdoor patio at Gia Mia. The weather was warm and the air was filled with the sound of music. The area was abuzz with conversation and the aroma of food from a half dozen restaurants nearby. We sampled a couple IPA's. Our waitress, Stephanie, was helpful and very attentive even though she was super busy. She was such a nice waitress. She even brought us samples to try of the two IPAs. We chose The Blind Corner Booter, a New England IPA. It was light, fruity and perfectly chilled. We also liked that they served the beer in cognac snifter glasses. We both thought that was a nice touch and alleviated what could have been an average IPA to a higher level of elegance. While we waited to order our food live music began to fill the square from the restaurant directly across from where we were seated outside. The band was good. The food was better. My wife ordered the rigatoni bolognese. The bolognese was a classic Italian Ragu with tomato sauce and Parmigiana Reggiano. My wife opted to swap out the rigatoni noodle for a linguine noodle. It was hot, flavorful, and meaty. I ordered the linguine carbonara. The dish was made with bacon, garlic, black pepper, Parmesan cream, pecorino romana, and egg yolk. The dish was perfectly seasoned and tasty. The portion sizes were perfect. Quality over quantity. The restaurant was busy, but the waitress was attentive and came back several times to check on us. We decided to skip dessert. Next time. "The smell of garlic, the sizzle of olive oil, and the warmth of a good meal are all that's needed for happiness"...and dinner at Gia Mia. read more

During the holiday times the outdoor patio area is beautiful. Walking into this place is exciting, the layout is pretty nice too. The drinks here are amazing, they're all so different too! The pizzas never disappoint, you can't go wrong with any of them. They also have gluten free pizza which they can use the dough for any of the appetizers that come with bread. There are a lot of staff so the service is pretty quick and all the staff is friendly. I would recommend going to any Gia Mia location! read more

We visited Gia Mia a couple of weeks ago. My girlfriend saw Gia Mia and thought it would make for a fun date night. What caught her eye was the outdoor dining Bubbles, or Igloos as they called them. They are clear plastic bubble with with a forced air heating system to keep them warm. On the night we were there the outside temp was ten degrees, but inside the bubble/igloo (An Bubloo, Igble?) it was in the 60's. It was still chilly, but it was easy to keep comfortable. We had reservations, but had to wait because we wanted one of the igloos, which was what we reserved. This isn't the restaurant's fault, patrons where enjoying the bubbles so much they where hanging around for extended periods of time. We were allowed to wait indoors until they where able to seat us. They did enforce social distancing (hopefully that tid bit will not age well in a couple of years). For a starter we ordered the Charred Cauliflower. It was delicious, great flavor. I love cauliflower, and combination of Cauliflower and olives made me wish we had ordered a second one. For main courses I had the Chicken Parmesan. This was by far one of the best Chicken Parmesan's I've ever had, it was cooked perfectly with a good breading and sauce. It was served over linguini fini... which I would go back just for an order of that by itself. Everything about this dish was delectable. My girlfriend wanted the Meatballs al Forno. She thoroughly enjoyed them, and let me try a bite. Just llike everything else, delicious. For desert we had the Ricotta Cheesecake. Honestly we shared a piece. Which did result in some fork dueling to get more than the other. It was decadent, one of the best cheesecakes I've had. Overall It was a great experience. Our service was good. There was some slowness, but looking at the environmental issues, it's understandable. It was cold, we're outside in a bubble, it was busy, etc. read more
