Riganato played host to a wonderful 90th birthday luncheon for my Mother (from nearby St. Charles) in their back room this past Sunday afternoon, with just enough capacity for 24 people. Food was excellent, as expected, from sandwiches and pizza to outstanding fish entrees, menu specials, and pastas. Service was very attentive and kind. No extra fees or surprises whatsoever. Instantly an absolute fav place. The staff was incredible and gracious. I went with the house special and OMG would def get again. The pasta was cooked To perfection. I am an Italian restaurant snob because most of the time I can make it at home 1000% better. Not in this case! The layers of flavors and quality was totally next level. Being set in a home converted to a restaurant lends to the vibe of eating at my Italian Grandmas house. They are not open late and last seating is around 8:30. Seven adults and 3 young kids. The staff was very kind and accommodating to our group. We all enjoyed a very good meal. The kids thought the giant meatball with spaghetti was cool. We had the Branzino. Deboned in the kitchen. The Mixed grill of Lamb Chops, Pork, and tasty Italian Sausage. The Greek Peas were awesome. No pic but the Pasta with Steak disappeared into my son in law rather quickly. Limoncello Cake and Tiramisu were wonderful. The restaurant is in an old house and has a very nice ambiance. I had been wanting to come to Riganato Old Grille I was expecting more flavor to this mix Greek/Italian restaurant my ribeye steak was good a little bit acidic because of the vinagrette the steak was very tender and moist for the very first time the meat was soft and tender I wished they would have used that hard Italian bread to compliment the sandwich I had the asparagus soup was good and spicy The service was friendly and prompt the owner was very polite The ambiance was very welcoming and they had reservations for a party in the back room The fried zucchinis were good I did not taste the sweet potatoes nor the octopus but for the looks of it it was not burnt so that is a plus read more

Our first time there and we will be going back! A little loud for our taste but the table next to us had to young kids acting up so that didn't help. Food and service was very good and had to try to the "tomato and feta" appetizer, so good! Probably more than 2 people should sahre before a dinner but would get it again for sure. read more

We stopped by here for lunch before running our Sunday errands. It's a cute little place. Our waitress was super sweet too. The portions are really, really big too! The Greek chicken lemon soup was very warm and inviting, a little too lemony for us. The mussels were great! The broth is light and flavorful! The bread was perfect to dip into the broth too. I had the rigatoni with sausage. I had asked for spicy thinking the sausage is spicy, but the whole thing is spicy. It was really spicy, but it was really good. I couldn't stop eating despite how spicy and hot it was. My husband got the lamb and chicken with the side of potatoes. The lamb and chicken were well seasoned. The lamb wasn't gamey either. The chicken fell off the bone and it was super juicy! Overall, everything was pretty good. We're definitely going to try other items next time. read more

*3.5 stars* Let me start with, I really wanted to love Riganato. We heard great recommendations before coming, and the menu looked absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, our experience fell a little flat. I'll start with the good: the restaurant itself is absolutely adorable. It is an old house-turned-family style restaurant and really feels like you're walking into a home cooked Italian meal. The service was excellent with kind staff at the front, our waitress was very sweet, and the manager walked around multiple times. Also, the pesto gnocchi appetizer was delicious! The not so good: unfortunately the food! And the reason I rounded down to 3 stars is because ultimately when leaving a restaurant, the food is what matters most. In addition, each dish is quite pricey so my expectations were a bit higher. As I mentioned, the pesto gnocchi appetizer was delicious but that's about where it ends. Nick's Calamari tasted decent, but was not crispy at all and I would not order again. The signature chicken riganato was so dry! We had two separate orders and both were the same, quite disappointing. Overall, food-wise, I would not be back. This was my experience today, however given the large menu with pizza, burgers and pastas, I would be open to coming back to try some other dishes, especially given how sweet the staff was and pleasant overall ambiance. read more

Another great meal at Riganato! We went on a Thursday night with a reservation and the place was pretty crowded. Even so, the noise level was such that we could still have a conversation. They took the chopped salad with steak off the menu so I asked our server about it. She checked with the chef and they said they could make it for me. It was delicious! I think it was strip steak, cooked perfectly over mixed greens with some olives and goat cheese. Our server said it is still on the lunch menu. read more

This restaurant is very quaint and cozy. Feels like I stepped into a family's home and they cooked for me. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the fried zucchini and calamari for appetizers. The fried zucchini wasn't as crispy as I would've liked. The calamari was good but nothing out of the ordinary. For entrees, we ordered a few dishes. The salmon was over cooked and a little on the tougher side. The gnocchi was ok. My daughter liked it but I wasn't a big fan. I liked the tortellini. They gave a very healthy portion of pasta to say the least. My favorite was the rustic white pizza. We ordered a lot of food but we were hungry. Post-funeral...wow. We were greeted as family, served quickly with tender care. Loved the food which, considering our crowd of 35, filled 3/4 of this old home turned top notch restaurant. We were led here by their Gluten Free menu, which has a huge selection including fried items, pizza, sandwiches and pasta. One thing I want to clarify first is that they don't have dedicated fryer. Otherwise, this is a good place for family and friends who needs gluten free options more than just salad. Foods has always been delicious and generous. Below are some of the items we have tried over time. Gluten-Free menu that we have tried: - Fried Calamari is a must. Again it depends on the severity of the sensitivity, they don't have a dedicated fryer. - Pizza is as good as regular thin crust pizza. - Greek Lemon Chicken Soup is smooth and comforting, especially on a cold day. None Gluten-Free menu (some of these maybe Gluten Free, but ordered by us that do not require gluten free): - Meatballs spaghetti is a classic. Be warned that the portion is huge that you will have enough for a second meal. - Lake Superior White Fish is deliciously prepared. The fish is flaky, and paired perfectly with lemon wine sauce. - Fresh Beets with garlic for those beet lovers. I am not a goat cheese person, so opted for this version instead of the Roasted Beets and Walnuts, which I imagine it be good as well. The only item I was only so-so about is the Moroccan Chicken Kebobs. Mainly a personal preference issue - the spices were slightly heavy on the cumin. read more

Walking into this restaurant felt like home. It has such a warm, welcoming environment. Candle lit dinner with families at almost every table. The waitress was kind and present from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious! They brought out some warm bread and butter before we started dinner and I legitimately wanted the recipe. It was perfection on a cutting board!! My family of three ordered the pesto panini, the spaghetti and MEATballs and cheese pizza for kids. All of it was SO good! Drooling again just thinking about it. My expectations were pretty high and SPOILER ALERT... they did NOT disappoint! The place is very small so reservations are a good idea. Great food, great services, and right at home ambiance. This was our 2nd time visiting Geneva and our first time trying Riganato's. We were roaming around and didn't have a reservation and the place was lively with diners. After about an hour we were able to get seated. Private parking is close to the door and the lady and gentleman at the front desk were very helpful, bustling around the entire night taking care of patrons (the owners if I had to guess). The atmosphere is quaint, and wonderful if you want to feel like you are invited into to someone's home for dinner. There was a fire going in the fireplace and deliciously smells filling the room. The menu was plentiful, but not overwhelming. We were intrigued by the combination of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine and had a hard time deciding what to order with everything sounding so good. We were served bread, and we both ordered spaghetti with ricotta-filled meatballs, a red blend wine, and tiramisu for desert and all of the above was tasty! The bread and the meatballs in particular are worth coming back for. The staff was kind and attentive and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and intimate dinning experience. I wish I could give it 5 stars because the food was so good. A larger party had canceled so they had an opening for us on a Saturday night when everywhere else in Geneva was fully booked. The appetizer bread was decent but tasted extra good because I was super hungry. I asked our waitress for pasta recommends and ended up with the rigatoni al salsccia. It came out right away and it was very good and the portion was HUGE! I got the non-spicy version but the sausage still had a little kick to it. My biggest complaint is the lack of attention from our waitress. The place is small and we were sitting in the center of the restaurant so she passed us every two seconds but it took forever to get water refills and another century to get our check. read more
