Most of the time this place will take a walk-up/drive-up and have your vehicle done in about 40 minutes. Booking an appointment is available. The staff is very knowledgeable in taking care of the exterior and interior of your vehicle. There are no sketchy people going in and out your car like some places. This a family run establishment that knows performing great service is a the heart of what staying in business means and it shows. It's all hand wash and if you want a little extra like a hand wax/polish they will accommodate . They will remove any faded stickers, give you some suggestions and a scratch or a blemish that you don't get a chance to discuss at a typical car wash. I took my wifes car here to get detailed and was blown away by how meticulous they were. They used an air hose and a small pait brush to get into the air vents and all the nooks an crannies. I was blown a way literally. I took the car home and parked it in the garage. The next morrning my wife got in the car and went to work early like she always does. She usually complains about the bad job the other car wash people did, but not this day. She was in shock how clean the car was. She said it looks like the day we bought it. Very impolite and poor customer service. Rude in tone when speaking to customers to a point almost insulting. The guy who appear to be the manager/owner was talking on his cell phone when driving my car in the car wash. Also I was charge extra $8 for my van. It justifies for charging more for bigger car but the way he ask it is like "I expect to charge you. Don't ask any question. I need to work on as many cars as I can to make up the loss for the rainy days". When I ask him to point to me the extra charge on the tariff he just walked off and left me standing there. The tariff list only said $2 and up for oversize car. It is really up to him to charge whatever he wants on that day. read more

I just had my 8 year old travel trailer worked on and am very happy with the results. The front had become heavily oxidized from the sun and they buffed it out so the fiberglass looks new again. Had them wash and wax the entire trailer and it looks great. Except for the fading in the decals the trailer looks brand new. Thank you Felipe and Derek! PS It seems that many of the lower-rated reviews for California Shine on Yelp involve the car wash place located in Dublin. I have used their detail shop in Pleasanton (next to the workout place) multiple times now and have had really good results. Hmmmm. Needed a quick wash for the car and I saw this place when I was getting gas at chevron. It was pretty hard to find where the entrance was located exactly... Lol this car wash is right next to the O'Reiley auto parts shop. Their cheapest wash is about $18.99 and it goes up from then. I did their silver wash for $24.99 since it was the next upgrade that comes with air freshener. I feel that if you're paying to wash your car, you should get the scent package too. The staff here isn't all so friendly and not all of them knows English. I asked them to vacuum the trunk too and they had to go through several people in order to get what I wanted.... The cashier was missing when I was there to pay and I just feel like w t f LOL. After all, the car washes pricing here isn't so bad and it gets the job done. So California Shine got my $21.99 this once. Spend it wisely, friends. They did a good job with the wash. My complaint is that my "Oversized" car that merits a $3 surcharge is a 2013 Ford Escape that is roughly 7/8ths the size of a pregnant Kim Kardashian. It's basically a Ford Fusion with a power liftgate rather than a trunk but to Shine, it's oversized. When I asked the cashier about the surcharge, he asked me where I was from and implied I was new to the carwash game. I've been getting cars washed since before he was born. Don't ask me where I'm from, punk. They're getting the $3 surcharge rather than $80 a month for the life of a car that currently has 535 miles on the odometer. Shrewd business. read more

I've been taking my car to California Shine now for over eight years. The one in Pleasanton next to Bay Club. The other shop in Dublin on Dublin Boulevard was not as efficient and detailed as the Pleasanton shop. During Covid, the shop did not get enough cars coming in, since everybody was working from home. Felipe was one of the owners of the Dublin wash. Hes a very nice and honest man. Always going the extra mile on my vehicles. He ran the Pleasanton facility. My SUV has white interior and when I brought it in I showed him my concerns on the seats, back of seats where my kids put their dirty feet, car handles being touched with dirty fingers. My car looked dingy all around. I was shocked when I picked it up. It looks like a brand new car!! Every nook and cranny has been cleaned-even the front cup holders look new. DISHONEST OWNER/MANAGER: I made advance payment for 5 Car Washes to get a discount. The advance payment of $100 was made using VISA credit card pre-Covid in 2019. The owner had a note book where he staples the receipt of advance payment with my name on that page. Whenever I get a carwash, I sign in that note book on my account page. Once I have reached five car washes I make advance payment for next five car washes. I have done this deal before also with this Carwash business. I went to this business for Carwash few weeks back & asked to check how many carwashes remaining on my account with the advance payment since I hadn't come for long time to get carwash due to travel & Covid. The owner's son(manager) pulled the note book out & I & he both together checked in notebook that all five carwashes still remain. They were very busy so asked me if I can come next time for Carwash. I agreed & left. Today, I went there again & my car was washed. I asked for the note book so I can sign it for today's wash. First owner's son said we have no such note book & then I happened to notice the book in a tray behind the counter & I pointed at that. He pulled it out & gave it to me. I opened the note book to find my account & notice that the pages have been ripped from it. The residues of ripping were still visible. Then he asked me to pay. I said you must be kidding. I said after today's wash there are still four car washes will remain. He gave me my car keys & said he will not honor any more car washes from advance payment. This business should honor the advance payment contract & provide remaining four car washes or refund the money. read more

Technically I have never had my car washed here before... how can I give one star then? So I pull up to the place where you hand over your car, a van just left that spot and began to get cleaned. No one approached me, I just assumed they were all busy so I patiently waited in my car. During this time I made eye contact with 3 separate workers, they knew I was there waiting. After close to 10 minutes I approached them and they said "oh we're closed" they couldn't have told me that the second they watched me pull up? I should have checked these guys on yelp before going for a car wash. I was just passing buy on a weekend morning and saw this place. Since I had a car wash on my to do list I just drove in. At first I was a little surprised when the guy at the counter said $ for a hand-wash with cleaning interiors and tires dressed. Then thought maybe they would do an extra ordinary job so agreed. I waited in the sitting area for around 30 minutes. I was quite amazed with their work when the car came out. It was sparkling and the tires looked absolutely new. They had done a good polish so I thought I would tip them although the price already was on the higher side. But when I opened the door and checked the interior oh god I was badly disappointed. Looks like they had spent their entire energy cleaning the exterior. I am a smoker and although I try to use the ash tray there is always a spill which I could see in the crevices of the driver seat. Not sure whether they vacuumed the interior or not and if they did it wasn't good enough. Even the corner at the floor seemed to still have some amount of dirt. But I had no patience to wait any longer. I just pointed out whatever I say to them and made it evident that I wasn't very happy with the work. Paid the cashier and just left. I needed a quick car wash after having my 4Runner under a car cover for 2 months. I was looking for a different establishment, but time was a factor and saw only 1 truck in line. $19 for a basic exterior wash. I would have been better off paying $10 for a Hutch' s quick wash. The guy put no effort into washing the truck. 1 sponge in each hand making circles as he saw I was watching him. Quick rinse and blown dry with a air dryer and finished by 2 other workers. Worse place to wash your car, the owner never is there and the staffs are care less. I went there today and asked for $60 car wash with Wax. After 20 min, they told me the car is ready.
