      Angelo!
      Judy L.

I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years because this business continues to evolve to create a great customer experience. 1) They use caller ID technology to bring up existing customer profiles, so before you can even say "hello," they know your name, car, and last time you were in for service. This was so convenient because it saved me time from saying and spelling my basic information to get scheduled for service. 2) They use text messaging to communicate with customers. I am constantly in work meetings and appreciate that I can just get notifications or communications via text message instead of playing phone tag to get updates or make decisions. 3) Inspection reports are provided in a web link sent by text, with photograph evidence of a thorough step by step inspection. 4) I've gotten estimates from about 5 other repair shops closer to me because I've now moved about 30 minutes away, but Pleasanton Smog & Repair's prices remain consistently competitive. As an example for my car's Service B, M&N Danville quoted me $1550, the car dealership in Pleasanton quoted me $850, the car dealership in Fremont quoted me $550, a small local shop quoted me $295 but had a 5 week wait, another big name shop quoted me $350 but had a 3 week wait. Pleasanton Smog & Repair quoted me $320 and got me in immediately. 5) I know I don't need to bother with coupons because Jake will tell me what deals are currently available amd automatically apply them them to my account. Not to mention, he even discounted my service more than he quoted me... just because. I ended up paying $300 for Service B, which was $20 less than what he quoted. 6) Oliver (the shop dog) is the friendliest fur friend and cheers me up just being in his presence! I always bring my dog just to socialize with the shop dog. 7) I arrived 15 minutes before the shop opened and the guys next door helped to take my keys in and send me on my way so I didn't have to sit in my car and wait. 8) Honesty and integrity. I once deferred a brake service because I wanted a second opinion, only to return because I other places tacked on a few more "issues" in my diagnostic. Not once did I ever feel pressured or guilty. Not once did I ever have issues after a repair service, which I tend to have with other shops. 100% recommend Pleasanton Smog & Repair for all the reasons above. The guys there are incredible and so wonderful to work with for over 10 years. 10 out of 5 stars!

He called me at 3:40 pm and i called him back once i could at 4 pm and he pretty much raised his voice at me to return the car asap as another client is waiting for it first thing in the morning. I never could find an independent Auto Repair shop which I felt comfortable with. But because of the escalating repair costs at the Dealership, I researched Precision Auto Repair and its knowledge specifically with Honda and Acura Vehicles on Yelp. I spoke to Keven over the phone, and after conferring my concerns and the necessity for a number of issues to bring my vehicle up to service, Keven stated he would write up and estimate and send it via email. Later on in the day, I received a detailed report via email of all the issues that needed to be addressed. These coincided with most of the issues on my list with a few added. Pictures and estimated costs were included with this report. After going over the repairs with Kevin, I brought in my vehicle the next day. After several days, all the work was completed, and the price was very reasonable. I found their work to be extremely thorough, and I will for sure be using Precision Repair for all my future Acura needs in the future. Thanks, Kevin, for your knowledge and Professionalism!!!

Most of us like to poke our heads under the hood and pretend we know what's going on, but we usually don't. The next logical step is a repair shop, and many people default to the dealership because they think they can trust them more. In my experience, that's a mistake--dealerships often touch ten things, fix one, and charge you for everything. Luckily, I found Rich and his team. I recently bought a newer car with all the bells and whistles, and I was braced for a huge bill. Rich was incredibly professional, polite, and straightforward. I was actually in shock; he takes the time to educate you on the repair rather than just grabbing your keys and telling you he'll text you later. The estimate was a pleasant surprise, and better yet, there were no hidden fees at the end. The amount he quoted was exactly what I paid. They were on time, efficient, and had me back on the road in no time. It is such a relief to find this kind of service these days. It's nice to know you don't have to pull out a platinum card for a simple repair or an oil change. All the 5-star reviews you see here are 100% true. One quick tip: the shop can be a little tricky to find the first time, but trust your GPS! It will get you there, even if the turn looks a bit hidden. You cannot go wrong with this team!

So I shopped around for places with excellent reviews and then compared prices. Performance Autowerk was a top contender, even though it was more of a drive than I wanted to make. As I researched, I appreciated that Rich always answered any questions I had in a timely fashion. Nothing was too small to answer. Once I decided upon his business, when I got there I was expecting him to just usher me in and get started. However, he took the time to check all four of the brakes with some sort of instrument, and then carefully asked me how I knew that I needed brakes. What?! I told him that prior to my mechanic retiring in 2023, he told me that I should expect to replace the rear brakes within a couple years or so. Then a few months ago, another mechanic who performed an oil change but also checked out the health of my vehicle, told me with some urgency that I should get my rear brakes replaced before I would have to do the rotors as well--and that they could take care of it for me for X amount of dollars. When I told Rich this information, he seemed skeptical. He actually didn't think that my brakes needed to be replaced at that time. What?! He asked me if any sensor in the car had alerted me to the brakes needing to be replaced. I told him no. He went on to explain how that sensor would work in my car. He actually did a LOT of explaining to me in general. I really appreciated it. Bottom line: He told me that my brakes would need to be replaced at some point in the near future, but they did not need to be replaced today. He said it was up to me if I wanted to do it today (since they would have to be done eventually), or if I just wanted to keep driving until the sensor came on. Honestly, I was shocked. Usually you expect someone to just take your money and not try to dissuade you. Truly, truly, shocked. Anywho, since I was there, I had him replace the rear brakes, and he had it completed in a couple of hours. He showed me my old brakes and explained exactly what he did and how worn down they were--though again, I still had time to drive with them. To say I was impressed with him and his integrity is an understatement. I would love to keep going to him, but he says he might be done working on Jaguars, because the dealers seem to be a li'l shady with pricing and other areas. : ( Well, if he continues to work on Jaguars, I will continue to be a customer!

In October, we paid a $1,600 deposit to have a rear differential replaced, followed by a final payment of $2,804.12 on November 25th. When we picked up the vehicle last week February 11, 2026 (yes they held our vehicle for months), it was still making the exact same noise as the day it was dropped off. We immediately did a ride-along with their own mechanic, who confirmed the issue was still present. Because they were entirely unable to fix the vehicle despite being paid in full, their mechanic explicitly stated that if we took it to another shop, Old Town Auto Care would refund the cost of the repair. We took the vehicle to a second, competent shop. They completely repaired it and confirmed that the rear differential did indeed need replacement, which was the exact work Old Town Auto Care charged us over $4,400 for but utterly failed to perform. We returned to Old Town Auto Care with undeniable proof: the new invoice, the actual old part, and a letter from the second shop. Despite their blatant failure to do the job and their own mechanic's verbal promise, management is now outright refusing to issue the promised partial refund of $1,900. I have included pictures of my credit card charges from Old Town Auto Care as well as the invoice form the different competent shop who confirmed and fixed the problem as proof. They will take your money, fail to fix your car, and then refuse to make it right even when presented with hard evidence of their incompetence. Do yourself a favor and avoid Old Town Auto Care at all costs.

Called them when I needed an alignment at the last minute before a road trip. They said they could do it no problem so I took it in and was told it would probably be done around 5:00 which is their closing time. When I return to pick it up I was told that they couldn't get one of the eccentric bolts loose to adjust camber. By the time I got home I noticed that my steering wheel was a quarter turn off meaning it was turned sideways in order to drive straight. Then I look at my wheel which was pointing out at the top about an inch and in at the bottom an inch. I still had to leave for a road trip in the morning and like I said they were already closed when I picked it up. So I drove to Washington the next morning and by the time I got back from that trip a brand new tire was mostly ruined. Furthermore the suspension was making all kinds of clunking noises and I wasn't even sure if it was safe to drive on. So I called them told them exactly what happened with the steering wheel the clunking noises the wheel and you would think that they would be eager to correct the mistake for liability reasons if nothing else. But I was told they didn't have an opening until next week. So next week I go in on the day and time that she suggested and she said they were too busy today try coming in at the end of the week. I took it to a shop down the street that adjusted everything correctly had no issues doing it, corrected the steering wheel the clunking noise, and alignment itself all for half the price of what this place charged me. As far as I'm concerned they put my life in danger and we're too lazy or it was too late in the day for them to finish the job so they just said I had a seized bolt. If they want to buy me a new tire id be happy to take this down.
