I took my husband to another dentist to have a tooth repaired they wanted to pull all of my husband's upper teeth and do a full reconstruction of his upper jaw. This office is AMAZING! I went to Dr. Martinez on a whim after finding good reviews for her office on Yelp. I hadn't been to a dentist in a few years and was worried that I'd be met with judgement. As soon as I walked in the door, Luisa greeted my partner and I with a huge smile and calmed my nerves. I was taken to the back right away where Monica took my X-rays and got everything set up. She was so polite and friendly. Dr. Martinez came to assess me shortly after and met my nerves with such calmness and kindness. Stay away from this doctor and his unprofessional, lying disrespectful staff. They have made three respective appointments for me for implants, and fail to even advise me that the appointments were cancelled. I advised them if the third appointment was not kept, I would go seek another doctor. She said don't worry about it, I promise you will see him tomorrow. I saw nobody as he did not even show up to the office, and they lied to me stating that I did not have an authorization. When I drove back home after pondering this lame excuse, I called his office back, and then they further lied, stating that he was sick, he couldn't see me. They need to get their lies straight before they make a response to any respective patient. Again, do not walk away from this office, run like hell! read more

Sadly I must say stay completely away from this place. Get ready to pay all cash. They will not bill your insurance. $300 consultation. High pressure on the up sell. Wanted me to agree to $45,000 treatment on the spot. Very vague with information. I agreed to a more reasonable $5000 treatment which they made me feel bad about. When I asked them to send my diagnosis to my dentist so I could consult with her, they made every excuse misrepresenting my entire consultation to my dentist just so they could prevent me from having a consult about my diagnosis . Never did send my diagnosis over to my dentist. Very unprofessional place. Find some place else with a more professional staff and operation and that will work with insurance. read more

I recent went to see Dr Munguia for wisdom teeth extraction. I have to admit I was so scared to go. But the staff made me feel so much better!! The process was very easy. They calmed me down and made me feel comfortable. The doctor has magical hands my face didn't swell up and the pain after was very mild. The healing process has been easy. Dr. Munguia, Monica and staff are wonderful to work with. Appointments are on time and I was on time which is mutual respect. I had been to four dentists...three said they could not help me and the fourth said maybe. Dr. Munguia is a prosthodontist and at the first consultation he said, "I can help you!" Wonderful to hear those words after two and a half years of seeking help. I now have full dentures the lower is fixed on full implants. I can now eat cucumbers and other healthy foods. Time element a bit over a year to complete. Much of the time was for the bone to heal around the implants. We did have a problem with the first dentures as they gave me an overbite. Correction was completed. GOD Blessed Dr. Munguia with the ability and desire to help folks with their dental needs. Dr. Munguia has the knowledge to do this work which has been a blessing for me. Expensive is relative to income. Have you ever said, "I would give anything if...?" For me the process was expensive. The cost was almost half of my retirement savings, and I am retired. My first day with prosthodontist Munguia was on March 8, 2015. The purpose for my going to him was to correct a mastication alignment.Until the end of May 2015 he installed temporary crowns after removing the old crowns using strong adhesive to cement them because I needed to wait several months away for the bone grafted areas to mature. Up to May 6 ,2015 I was charged $22,300.00 for the work performed and for the permanent crowns of my 7 front upper teeth. On Dec ,2015 he started removing my temporaries . This time since the permanent crowns were to be installed soon the adhesive was used sparingly so that the removal of the temporary teeth would not present a problem. Temporaries were not stable anymore. He wanted to start from the 7 upper front teeth. I never did see the fabled 7 upper permanent crowns he kept promising me even though I had fully paid for them in advance a full year earlier . He took impressions of my 7 upper front teeth. In Jan, he said that the crowns were not ready because they are coming from Europe and that he had to prepare my lower teeth and that he needs to get extra payments for lower permanent crowns. He hadn't bothered to remember that I needed two implants. So I asked him when he was planning to give me implant surgery .He said that I needed to make an additional payment of $5,000.00. When I asked him what had happened to the money I had paid him thus far, he said that he sent the money to the laboratory for 7 upper permanent crowns. I paid additional $15,000.00 for an implant surgery and several lower permanent crowns in February 2016. The 10 lower permanent crowns he showed me looked good to me, but when he tried the crowns on my teeth, he said that I have a serious recession again. For a patient to wait even one day in this condition is torture, in that I was faced with my temporaries constantly falling out, breaking and in the process damaging my healthy teeth. That day he used some chemical which caused my teeth to turn black. The first time when I noticed this black color on my original teeth was when I was brushing my teeth and some of the temporaries fell out. It was awfully horrible to go through all this and end up with such bad teeth. My teeth were as black as pitch and smelled like tar. I called him in a panic He said he used fluoride. That wasn't true.In order to clean this black stains from my teeth he attempted to use a gritty substance. This caused my teeth to become even more sensitive. During all these procedures of removing and re-installing my temporary crowns, countless times, on and on made my teeth unstable. March 23: During the implant surgery I felt that something was decidedly wrong. I was repeatedly given extra Novocain. During the surgery, water being given for the irrigation of my mouth started to come out of my nose. I couldn't breathe and it felt like I was drowning .I was charged cryptically, $1,850.00 for the bone grafting 4 to 5 times more than the fees of previous bone grafts. April, 2016: He installed three of the ten lower permanent crowns and stopped and said that there was more recession and that he had to take more impressions. As soon as I came home and looked at three permanent crowns he had installed that day I was in shock. They were extremely dirty looking crowns. Even my sister through the Skype camera could see how dingy looking they were . I called him the next day to complain, he said okay and that he would change the permanent crowns. April 19: On this day he applied a corrosive substance to my teeth to alleviate the sensitivity .This caused my tongue to start hurting severely that I was in agony. My friends told me to tell the dentist to replace the missing temps, renew the cracked ones and change the dirty looking three permanent crowns. The day before I received a call for a cancellation of the appt for May 10,2016. He again didn't like the crowns and returned them back. I have this message still recorded.My husband asked the name of the laboratory he uses. He said "New Wave California Smile:" Later we find out from another prosthodontist that he was using his brother's lab on the 2nd floor . I ended up paying for $22584.50 for 1 implant , 3 bone grafting, 3 filthy crowns ..I went to him with the best of intentions. I made my 35 appointments and payments anytime he asked me .Since the beginning of this year my morale and social life have been wrecked My mastication alignment is worst than before and the bone structure of my mouth is uneven as can be seen on the diagnostic pictures taken before and after 15 months. I have temporomandibular disorder. Correcting my problem has become even more expensive. Recently a sharp bone has started to protrude from where Fernando Munguia did the implant. It hurts when I touch it. They gave me countless Novocain injections. I can attest from my extensive experiences F. Munguia is not a good honest dentist.
