I wish there was a superstar rating so I could more accurately express just how amazing Dr Rivera and her entire staff are - 5 stars is barely enough to scratch the surface. Let me put this review into context a bit - I have been to 6 different dentists and Mountain View Dental is my 7th and not all of those were horrible. In fact some were great. But not one was absolutely exceptional the way this office is. I have extremely sensitive teeth and gum recession which causes pain even when I am brushing my teeth or breathing in cold air, causing the need for a lot more patience and precision for the folks at a dental office working on my teeth. Most dentists are more concerned about patient throughput than actually taking care to not cause unnecessary pain with the extra time it takes. But not here - Dr Rivera and her staff are so gentle and comforting I almost feel like I am going to a spa. I have never felt more well cared for then at this office. They provide soft, cozy blankets, tell light hearted stories to keep my mind off the procedure, and put on good TV shows even though I am too nervous (read - uncontrollably crying from anxiety and nerves) to open my eyes to watch them. They don't shame me for this as other dentists have done - they just make it as quick and easy as possible to take good care of my teeth. If you are looking for a new dentist, a second opinion, or simply want to experience the way going to the dentist should be, I cant recommend this office enough. read more

I've never had my teeth cleaned so well! I'm 39 years old and I'm yet to experience a cavity, so I'm particular about my teeth. Usually, I get a mild scraping of some tartar build up and some fluoride brushed on, the end. Not here! It was thorough and felt like a spa treatment. The office was beautiful and comfortable. There's even a TV screen in the ceiling for you to watch while you have your treatment. I watched some nature show on an available streaming service. They offered headphones as well, but I declined. read more

"Broken" tooth fixed, Bleeding gums cured, Pulled 2 back teeth with care, Friendly staff, Peaceful office. I'm writing these key words in case others search for info that I wanted. I hadn't been to the dentist in 20 years, then suddenly had extreme pain in my back tooth, and my front tooth looked cracked so I was very worried. For comparison, I went to 2 places for consultation. In Ontario (other place), I got xrays and they said I needed 2 wisdom teeth pulled (when only one hurt). But they didn't show me the results so I was in doubt (their giant tv was not on). And they wanted to pull both on the same day! (which I later learned why it is bad.) So I also got xrays at Mountain dental (which I found out about from the Upland Farmers Market): They had the tv on and showed me the results. I saw both teeth had cavities so I believed them. Also their office is more peaceful, less people (since they make reservations), and they played music for me while waiting for the meds to kick in. They made an appointment and only tried to pull 1 tooth (which was better for recovery so that I could chew with the opposite side, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to chew for a few days if both sides had teeth pulled). I also went in because my front tooth looked cracked. But it was tartar buildup that was so bad it formed a gray layer and cracked. They cleaned my teeth while on pain killers, so I was able to be awake but it was painless (my biggest concern). And they were patient when I raised my hand to pause, so that I could swallow. After the cleaning (and recovery), my teeth were revealed to be whole (not broken), and my gums which had bled for 10 years were cured. Now my breath is fresher and teeth cleaner. Also for anyone wondering if wisdom teeth need to be pulled: for me yes because mine grew in crooked, which made them harder to clean between, which lead to the infection/pain. (Many people these days lack the mouth room for the full set of teeth, so they may grow in crooked.) Before the op, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to crunch chips anymore (but I can). My bottom wisdom teeth were already removed. And I asked if they remove both top wisdom-teeth, then when I bite down on chips would it press against my gums and hurt? They said no because there isn't a lower tooth to press against. And they were correct: after my recovery I am able to chew quickly and don't notice the missing back wisdom tooth. And my teeth are easier to clean/reach. Thanks to everyone who helped me recover. I've since been there 4 times for maintenance cleaning (which helps prevent pain in my sensitive gums - from plague buildup that I can't reach with normal brushing). read more

I came to Dr. Rivera for a consultation, after having a negative experience with my previous dentist. I needed quite a bit of dental work done, and I needed a second opinion. Dr. Rivera instantly put me at ease. She went over my options and showed me with pictures, what needed to be done and most importantly, WHY. Afterwards, we set up a multi-step plan to complete everything. During my first appointment, I let Dr. Rivera know that I had some concerns about our initial dental plan. I had a trip coming up, and was concerned about having a temporary crown while I was away from home. Dr. Rivera worked with me and adjusted my procedures to fit my upcoming travel and holiday schedule. Dr. Rivera and her staff made sure that I was comfortable, and constantly monitored me for pain throughout my time in the chair. She took pictures of the work performed, before during and after, and made sure that I was good with the work completed before I left her office. So far, my experience with my new dentist has been amazing. I am not one who likes going to the dentist, but I look forward to working with Dr. Rivera on all of my dental needs. read more

Dr. Rivera and her team are nothing short of amazing! When I tell you that I HATE going to the dentist, I mean that... like more than the average person, it's probably my least favorite thing to do. I went to Dr. Rivera for my first appointment in almost 2 years due to the pandemic, and I was blown away by how friendly and calming her and her staff were. This is the most positive experience I've ever had at the dentist! I've since had two follow up appointments, one where I had to have a crown put on and another to have a filling, and both went so much better than I expected. She made sure to walk me through the entire procedure, put all my worries at ease, and the procedure itself wasn't bad at all! I had a horrible toothache that was obvious I needed help ASAP, I went through the holidays with everyone being closed and by today I didn't feel like driving to my former dentist all the way in Santa Clarita. I called as soon as they opened and they told me to come right in. I was greeted at the door and they were extremely helpful and understanding. She ordered me antibiotics and referred me to her colleague for a root canal. As I sit here and write this I'm all ready feeling better! I have been to many dentists in a wide variety of cities but Mountain View Dental is the first dentist office I don't dread going to. It has a convenient location and beautiful, relaxing office space with a little carpeted alcove for the kids with toys and their own TV. Gina at the front desk is always warm and makes a point to remember who you are and what work you are having done. One of my biggest complaints about previous dentist offices is that they will say that I need work done and request my consent prior to providing any information regarding cost and what your insurance will cover -- that does not happen here. Gina has been very helpful in helping me sort through the insurance side of things in a very painless way. She takes her time explaining expenses, what's covered, etc. and makes sure that I have a clear understanding before we schedule additional work. Yvette Rivera and her dental staff are always smiling, welcoming and genuine. Nothing feels rushed unless you request it. They make sure that you are comfortable during all procedures and they make sure to do the work right the first time with minimal to zero discomfort. I've never been happier to see a dentist. I can't honestly think of a single criticism besides the a single minor delay with starting an appointment due to another person ahead of me needing a little extra care and attention. They are extremely thorough. This is the first dentist I've been to in California this thorough. Dr Rivera was very kind, addressing all of my concerns, also letting me know what's going on thru X-rays and photo images of my teeth, what to expect moving forward, and giving me a choice of which method to go about it. I love my new dental office! So I moved to Montclair almost 3 years ago and was driving back to West Covina for my old dentist because I'm picky when it comes to my dentist. Im so glad I stumbled upon Dr. Rivera's dental office and made an appointment. Her and her staff have been nothing short of amazing, attentive, and so friendly. It feels like im visiting a friend when I go to her office. Something that stood out to me was the way she really tries to get to know her patients. On my first visit she held conversation asking about me and getting to know my outside of the dental treatment. She also only schedules one patient at a time so when you're there, its just all about you. She really took the time to look at my benefits to work out the best plan for the services I need. She's not trying to over sell or do unneccessary things. She keeps it real and looks out for the best options. This review is pretty long but I also have to mention the X-rays that they do are not just the basic ones that every dentist does. She actually looks at each tooth and takes pictures. Now I love going to the dentist in general. . I know I'm a special one but this experience was by far the best I've had. Its very modern, updated and tidy! The staff(Gina and Cindy) and Dr Rivera go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. From offering coffee, tea, water to giving you a blanket if your cold, I'm mean what hospitality. Before the exam Dr. Rivera and I sat and talked about my previous dental work and what concerns I had about my teeth. Which I thought was so great. Moving on to the exam, it was good, we took x-rays and pictures of my teeth then went over treatment which I needed about 9 fillings replaced. Gina came over after the exam to go over my benefits and payment. We split up my treatment and worked out my financing , which they are willing to work with you! They were able to do my whole right side that day plus my cleaning. The whole exam didn't feel to long I was distracted by the telly on the ceiling. But Dr made sure to ask how I was doing and did such a great job. I will definitely be following up with them for my second part of my treatment and my 6 month cleanings! read more
