I would easily put on 20-30 pounds if I lived across the street from this place. SunCity bagel was prefect! Such a good breakfast sandwich and the Jetski was also a good lunch option. The Honey Oat Latte was delicious as well. The coffee here was the perfect balance, not too sweet but light and delightful.
Stopped by Call Your Mother for a quick breakfast and overall enjoyed it. Their menu has some pretty unique bagel creations, and I decided to try the Hidden Cove. The combination of salmon, kimchi, and cucumbers worked surprisingly well together and reminded me a bit of the flavors you'd get from Korean banchan. The bagel itself was fresh and filling. There was plenty of outdoor seating available, which was nice, especially on a busy morning. The only downside was that it took a fair amount of time for our food to come out. Other than that, it was a solid breakfast spot with creative flavors that stand out from your typical bagel shop.
We came here twice during our most recent stay in Washington DC. We appreciated the variety of sandwiches and thoughtfulness in the prices that reflected increased/decreased toppings. We also really appreciated the friendly service and staff members we came across during our time there. The first day I ordered an everything bagel with veggies and cream cheese -- I took out the bacon and the price of the sandwich decreased by $3. The second time I ordered an egg and cheese everything bagel with avocado and latke. The latke was just okay and didn't add much to my sandwich. The everything bagels were really good as well with plenty of seasoning but I think they were a little tougher for our taste (a perfect bagel would be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but the inside was a little tough and the outside wasn't crispy). For a coffee, two bagels, tax and tip, we paid about $32, so they are a bit on the pricier side. But the staff are very kind to the community. The place gets super busy around 9 am, so we learned to just order online the next time and our food was ready within 15 minutes. Other people and us on the first day were waiting over 20 minutes otherwise for our food, which I know can be frustrating. Very popular bagel shop.
As a California girl currently living in Arizona and visiting DC, this place was delicious. I split the sun city (breakfast bagel) and the jet ski (lunch bagel) with a honey oat latte and it really was fantastic. The cashier recommended some great options and was friendly. The vibes inside were so cute. Great music playing with the cutest pink and teal aesthetic. It's not very big inside but we went on a Tuesday late morning so seating was easy inside, however, there is outside seating. We walked form the stadium which was a cute little walk so I'm not sure how great parking is but look like plenty of street parking around.
I love this breakfast place. I ordered a Caesar bagel sandwich because I missed breakfast but it was lunch time and OMG. I was not expecting this sandwich to taste this GOOD. I also ordered bacon which was extra but definitely worth it and it was crispy just how I like it. I wish they had a chain closer to the Baltimore area because they definitely have a client who would go all the time if they were closer. No worries every time I go to DC they will see me coming. I also ordered a hot chocolate. Service was wonderful, it's connected to a hotel so you can sit down and enjoy your meal if you like.
Stopped here for the horchata matcha after I heard it was something to write home about. I did enjoy it and thought the service was fast and they were very kind, despite how busy they were.

The gluten free bagel was good, they seemed to understand allergies and cross contamination and I enjoyed mine! I've seen the lines spilling out from Call Your Mother for years and heard about their growth via pop ups in different neighborhoods. We made a trip to visit on an early Sunday morning (we wanted to avoid the lines). Upon entry we were met with pink pastel 80s like diner vibes. They offer an array of curated bagels with brunch options, coffee, juices and even latkes. We opted to try 2 (Moon River and Thunderbird) of the bagel breakfast-y options, seasonal lattes and the latkes. Everything came out in about 15 minutes. The bagels looked delicious and we split them up and gave it a go. Of the two the Moon River was our favorite because it had the most flavor. The thunderbird was very bland and quite frankly underwhelming. I was really looking forward to the latkes but when we opened the box there was no apple jam. When my partner went inside to ask for it they said we are out. I was really bummed and actually wouldn't have ordered the latkes if the jam wasn't available (I don't eat sour cream). Now the coffee ... the strawberry latte was less than desirable, the purée was chunky and came up my straw without the coffee. Overall I didn't love Call Your Mother and I would likely not return.

With a few bar stools to sit inside they also have outdoor bench's to enjoy your meal. Service is quick and friendly but the coffee and bagel sandwiches are the main attraction. Definitely will return to try other options.

I go to church at NCC which is nearby so at this location, sunday mornings, they have always been insane. line out the door. the first time i wanted to come, i was like oh nawh, we not doing all that. But i made my bf wait this time around because i had recently gone to the old town location (much larger space, calmer environment) and i KNEW what wanted. SERVICE: We love a chaotic efficient environent. they have a well oiled machine and even though the line was out there door (really only because the spot itself is soo so small), it goes by fast. people know to have their orders ready to go. there was restroom access which was cool to see! typically in spaces THAT small, resturants don't offer that, so it was good to know. FOOD: FInally -- the thing that gave me the courage to see if the line was actually insane at this location: they have a sub YUCA BAGEL + pickled veggies and crunchy chicpeas and hummus as the protien. i try to avoid eating bread, so having the yuca bagel was the biggest flex. i believe the order is called the "hummus and avacado" under "lunch-y things". 1000/10. Would wait in line again.

The egg salad has a really good flavor and large enough to last several days. I appreciate the drizzle of honey on the bacon sun city sandwich and will definitely order again.

The place itself has a really cool 90s nostalgia vibe that makes it feel fun and unique the moment you walk in. The ambiance alone makes the experience better. The service was also great. Since it was our first time the staff was very helpful when ordering and gave great suggestions which we really appreciated. If you're in DC and looking for a great breakfast spot this one is definitely worth the stop.

I have passed by CYM so many times and I've always wanted to stop by. I finally had a chance to try and I'm so glad I did. I went on a Thursday around 10 am. The inside was small but decorated in pretty pink and turquoise. There was minimal seating inside but they did have seating available in the patio area. The music playlist was good too ("Dilemma" by Nelly and Kelly was playing while I waited). The customer service was great and the gentleman working the register was really friendly. I ordered the Thunderbird and a chocolate chip cookie. The Bagelwich had a lot of great flavor and was bigger than I expected. The cookies are made fresh daily and it was easily one of the best cookies I've ever. I would absolutely go back. I should probably mention that since it was off peak hours when I went, it was easy to find a parking spot but parking is usually not easy in that area from my experience. read more

I am always on the hunt for the best bagel. I was stoked to hear about this place and got my usual. I had the maple salt and pepper bagel and it was pretty sweet, it would be great with meat I think. I got an egg and cheese and tomato and they even gave me a free cookie. You're joking. It was so wonderful and the staff is so charming. I went pretty close to close too so I really appreciate that. Not a ton of seating but in a nice location so not to worry. Will be going back. read more

I've heard about this breakfast restaurant from a few different people, and they all said it was great. Today I just happened to be jogging in the area with a friend, so I came here after we finished They have a pretty decent selection of things to eat for breakfast, but I wanted to get something smaller for my stomach. They offer about 6 different bagel options, and I decided on the Sesame style bagel with strawberry swirl schmearz. My usual go-to is just the plain cream cheese schmearz but I wanted to see what kind of special flavors this place added. FYI there are options to also add protein to your bagel. This place is on the smaller side and they have some really cool benches out on their patio. read more

Visited my brother during my layover in DC and this was our first stop. Vibrant and colorful shop with friendly staff! I got sun city breakfast sando with bacon. I really enjoyed it on the everything bagel and the hot honey complimented the bacon. I also think their prices are quite reasonable (especially compared to SF or NYC) read more
Long line but definitely worth it. Tip: order ahead. It is a cute little deli with yummy bagels and drinks. The pb and j was good but I would have preferred a smooth peanut butter. It was very popular here and clear that many people love it. read more

All the stars! I flew into DC and Call Your Mother was my first stop and that was a great decision. It's super cute - love the color scheme, the Millennial cell phones as art, and the other decor. The workers were so friendly and happy. They went above and beyond with service. And the bagels were phenomenal. I had the Royal Palm for lunch it was a truly great salmon everything bagels - perfect ratio of cream cheese, salmon, and toppings, and it stayed together as I ate it. Just delicious. I ordered the Za'atar bagel with garlic-herb cream cheese to take my hotel for tomorrow morning and I'm excited to try it. read more

Amazing bagels! Very fresh and tastes just like the NJ/NYC bodega bacon, egg and cheese, which is the best! The only difference is that they add honey, which is tastes great. The place gets Very busy, but placed an order online and it was ready when I got there for pickup. Staff is nice, inside clean, and we will def be back. read more

Today was my 2nd visit to this location (2x in 1 week). Usually, I go to their GA Ave location but I appreciate not having to wait in a long at this Barracks Row location. My go-to is The Royal Palm. It is consistenly good! The bagel has great consistency and taste...they do bagels very well. I always order ahead on their website and I appreciate that the service is quick and friendly. I was reading a great review about their chai latte so I splurged for that today and opted for the oatmilk (+$1). Their colors are cute and today the music was excellent when I picked up my order. This morning, it appeared that they were preparing a large order but they still did so with quick and friendly service. Seems like they found all of the great service employees that DC has to offer (bc I've never had a bad experience, across multiple locations). I'll be back again! read more

call your mother is a MUST visit every time I am in DC, I always look forward to these specialty bagel sandwiches. Call your mother is a quirky vibrant shop with the cutest neon graphics, limited seating inside, and a few outdoor picnic tables. This time I tried the Queen's Point which may be my new favorite. The veggie cream cheese is flavorful and pairs well with the bacon and jalapeno spicy kick. I also love the cheddar bagel its served on. I also had a honey lavender iced latte that was just okay, was not super flavorful. Service is always kind but every time I go very busy and a bit slow to get orders (I would recommend ordering in advance for pickup). Overall though worth the wait! read more

I am visiting from Texas while my son is in DC for an internship. He told me we have to eat at "the best bagels in America, damn it". I chuckled....until we did!!! This place is a must!! I had a garlic-cheese breakfast bagel with bacon, egg, cheese and honey. It was toasted or grilled to absolute perfection. The outside of the bagel had a crisp crust of yumminess while the inside stayed warm and soft. The bacon was crispy but not too crunchy. The cheese was perfectly melted and the touch of honey was the icing on the cake. Seriously, go there and then Call Your Mother and tell her how good this place is!! read more

Obsessed!! I'm new to the DC area and when my friend suggested grabbing bagels for breakfast, I was super excited but doubted whether it would live up to bagels I've had in NY. I could tell it was going to be good based on how busy it was on a weekend morning. Luckily the line moves pretty quickly. I loved all the unique bagel options and ended up going for the sweet sriracha. The garlic herb cream cheese was incredible as well. Overall, my bagel sandwich was super flavorful and filling. I ended up going back a second time a few weeks after because I had such a good experience the first time. Highly recommend! read more

I finally understand the hype. The sandwiches really are delicious. I had bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. It was delicious. I literally ate slow to savor every bite. It's bright, clean, & small in the inside but they have outdoor seating. The service was quick. I'll be back to try a different type of sandwich. read more
I've come here many times, but this last time was truly the best. I tried the "queens point" bagel, and its definitely my favorite - I won't need to order any other. I brought my friends who were visiting from out of town, they loved it so much they bought a half dozen bagels to bring home! The staff are always very friendly, and the shop is very picturesque. What a fitting name for this bagel shop, now I get what all the hype is about! Incredible bagel sandwich creations, ranks up there with the best I've ever had. Definitely the best I've had in DC. Wish there were more veggie options but you can always build your own which solves the issue. They get real busy on the mornings of weekend so best bet is to order online. read more

While in DC for a family road trip, we wanted to eat bagels. Thanks to Yelp I found this location. And the reviews were right. The bagels were delicious. The location is in a cute neighborhood with lots of walkers and their pets. We ordered two bagels, one with salmon and other one with egg and chicken sausage. This last one was my favorite. The coffee really good and the matcha right in point. Definitely a place to try. They have other locations in the city. read more
