There is no entrance to this place unless you have a GW key fob. Really wanted to try their brunch, but couldn't enter in.

Simple place on campus. Prices are good and the breakfast burritos were solid. This is just a quick place to grab a bite.

Perfectly serviceable sandwich at a decent price. Nothing particularly noteworthy about it, but nothing terrible either. One thumb up. :)

The shop does get very busy and there is not much seating. It's best to take the items to-go. There will also be a constant line, but I find my wait time start to finish is less than 10 minutes on most days. Their bagels are fresh daily and the egg and cheese bagels are packed full with freshly prepared ingredients. I've had their lox and scallion cream cheese many times and they will put 2x the amount of cream cheese to lox - you may want to request for them to go light on this if you like to have more balance. I would also say that for butter on bagel you might want to ask for it on the side. I say this only because the melted butter is everywhere inside the wrapper and can drip out. I love their iced coffee and the fact that they always have simple syrup on their self-serve station. It is a milder coffee which I enjoy.

I had a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. As a Jersey girl, I have never had a bagel in this area that beats the ones from home, but this came as close as I think I am going to get. The outside was crisp and the inside soft. The cream cheese was delicious. I definitely will be back to explore the rest of the menu sometime. I will say the shop is small, so you may not be able to sit down and eat your meal when it gets busy. Plan to take your items to go!

Dear reader, Call…read moreYour Mother in Georgetown is definitely a bit of a splurge for a bagel, but fortunately, the food is good enough to justify all day long. The Mountain View sandwich is my personal favourite and has never let me down. It's got mashed avocado, bodega-style egg, and latke. Oh my! If you've never had a latke, you've got to try it! Even the bagels on their own are excellent, particularly the sesame, which has the proper chew and flavour one hopes for. The Georgetown location is also ridiculously charming. That bright pink corner building has been something of a local photo op for years, and it is almost impossible to walk past without noticing it. It is also perfectly situated for grabbing your food and wandering around Georgetown afterward. The employees are always nice and keep things moving despite the crowds. They've got the fresh bagels, friendly service, and a semi-iconic location. Sure it gets a busy with a queue out the door, but it moves quicker than you'd think and gives you time to study the menu! Pricey? Certainly. Worth treating yourself? I don't say so.

Then the clouds part (metaphorically) and this woman, this angel on Earth suggests you actually try So's Your Mom. She raves about it. It all makes sense to you. Andy's has got enough money. Those stores are popping up like wildfire to hell with that. I'm going to So's Your Mom. It's my kind of place too. Nondescript, mom and pop type of place. Been there for decades. No flashy gimmicks just reliable sandwiches and apparently coffee based on their decor (But I'm here for lunch!). The guy at the counter is friendly, he's a talker, he's got recommendations. I don't need them but I ask for all of em Hit me pal! I ignore all of them and get a turkey avocado BLT situation. FANTASTIC. And somehow the bag of indie potato chips is criminally underpriced. He doesn't know they're charging like $3.50 a pop for these down at Adams, Morgan, Ace and other places around the city. Maybe they're going to know it when they read this review and if prices go up I'm sorry but also these greedy DC landlords are wrenching rent prices everywhere and So's your mom has to pay the bills! The signs outside advertising bagels got our attention. This establishment is cash only, so bring cash or hit the ATM before you come. The prices are incredibly reasonable, though, and probably less overhead/swipe fees. The whitefish and lox spread bagel was wonderful for only $5. It is not a huge bagel but the perfect size for breakfast. Personally, I'd rather not have any leftovers since I'm traveling and our room didn't have a mini-fridge or microwave anyway. You wait for your food for awhile, but we found some nice locals to chat with and they recommended a few other spots to us. There's no seating so you must take your food to go. It's too bad we found this spot on our last day in DC, but it will be our go-to if we stay at the Washington Hilton again.

Call Your…read moreMother has been a mainstay of the DMV for several years now, serving up some of the largest and most delicious bagel sandwiches you've ever seen, and the Park View location is no different. Their bagels are a little different from the classic NYC style, but that is intentional -- they did a great job merging the NYC and Montreal styles to create a delightfully dense bagel with a subtly sweet, charred, and smoky flavor. Call Your Mother offers a variety of bagel flavors, including your classic everything, plain, and sesame, as well as a rotating menu of seasonal specials including anything from maple salt and honey to jalapeno cheddar or za'atar. The bagels are also a smidge flatter than the classic NYC bagel, which is a much-needed adjustment given how much they pack into the sandwiches. I usually get The Edgewater, a wonderful vegetarian sandwich topped with mashed avocado, garlic herb cream cheese, pickled veggies, cucumber, and shredded carrots. The sandwiches are all massive (and easily multiple meals), but I appreciate that The Edgewater feels slightly lighter with all the veggies, but still has plenty of richness from both the cream cheese and avocado (and, of course, the super dense bagel itself). There's often a line, especially on the weekends, but Call Your Mother is always worth the wait. They don't have an indoor area, so you have to place your order at their window and then hang out either by the pick-up window or in their cute little outdoor seating area. Everything is, in true CYM fashion, decorated with a number of cute pink and blue paintings to create a fun, chipper, and upbeat energy.

Being located in Union Station allows you to grab a sandwich and keep moving towards your final destination. On that note, it can be quite busy depending on the time of day. I took a moment to look over the menu and it allowed me to observe how to place an order. Once my order was placed, I just stood around and waited. Being that the shop does not have any seating, you will definitely have to take the sandwich to go or take it to the food court area to enjoy in Union Station. My order finally ready, I headed toward the office. I had ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The good thing is that it is made to order, so it is hot when you receive it. I could not wait to bite into it when I finally got settled. The first bite was almost perfect, except it felt like the toasted the bagel a little too long. There was this bit of acrid taste to it. Like one part of the everything on the bagel got a little too much toastiness. It wasn't overpowering, just threw me off a bit. The sandwich as a whole was filling and the taste of it was quite on point. Definitely, a breakfast sandwich that can compete with any deli or cafe nearby.
