Not my favorite spot but they did a good job. I prefer a spacious and more modern nail salon but I decided to stop in and check this place out. They took me right away on a Saturday. I was able to get my pedi and mani done at the same time which is the best. It's been a week and no chipping and my nails still look great! $20 for a regular pedicure and $9 for a regular manicure. Went in for a french tip nail set and got exactly what I wanted ! It got a little Busy so I had two nail techs work on me. The first her name was Maria she did a nice job but the bulk of the work was done by another nice lady! I didn't get her name but she had blondish hair and she was Latina. Would recommend! read more

I had been looking for a neighborhood nail salon and am happy to say I don't need to look any more. This review is for a regular manicure, as I haven't tried out gel or acrylic tips here yet. I have been here twice as a walk-in and so far there has been no wait. I may have just gotten lucky, as while I was there they had several phone calls for reservations. The staff are friendly and patient. Thank you Gaby for doing an outstanding job. I wasn't sure which color to pick so Gaby opened a couple bottles and painted them on my nail so that I could see the difference. She also took her time with each nail and removed a bunch of dead skin. I didn't feel like she was rushed at all which made for a relaxing experience. A regular manicure is $9, and with OPI polish it is $11. This was worth the price and I will be returning again. read more

I went for a pedicure. The prices are ok, but they charge $5 extra for premium colors. But my main issue was the amount of pain I was in during and after. I repeatedly asked my pedicurist to be gentle, there was a language barrier but I was flinching and saying ow over and over. She dug into my cuticles, and "trimmed" the skin off of a BLISTER on the side of my foot, which was extremely painful, and my cuticles were at the point of bleeding. Won't be going back :( read more

However the owner/manager Vikky is often quite unfriendly and fair warning, will try to make a quick buck any way she can. This salon is my new go-to! I have been searching for as long as ever for a salon that is friendly and takes their time and I've found the one! My full set gel manicure took a little over an hour to do and was well worth it. My technician Susan did things that most other techs don't. She got my cuticles looking right. I have been coming to "Vicky's" since she had her establishment on 171st Street named Pearl Nails. Eventually she moved to 173rd and Broadway renamed the place Calla Pearl Nail Spa and I followed. The service has definitely gone down and the prices gone up. Many of the well known/established nail technicians have left, so there is always a new face(s). For me the breaking point was when Michelle left. She had been doing my nails for years. I have inquired numerous times if Michelle opened her own establishment in Queens and they never seem to know anything other than she bought a new home. Basically, I have been doing my own nails, but today have found the need to come in for a gel mani and pedi for vacation. However, though I had an appt with Susan for the hands and Anna for my feet (Susan booked it that way) I currently have the latter technician assigned to do both. Why? Susan took another customer at my scheduled appt time and with no explanation said, "Oh Ana will do your hands too." This is why I stopped coming to this place. I've been coming here for 3 years now, the service of the place has changed a bit from when I first started going, for instance I remember they would massage your feet with hot stones, hot towels which they still do, and lastly add some wax to your heels to soften them up, now you just get the towel. Over all, I like the place and how they work, Linda is my favorite, she gives the best massages ever and is a perfectionist! Only thing is that the wait can be too long, you can call to make an appointment but they're mostly "first come first serve". read more

Fab job and very reasonably priced ($10 for a mani)! I went in at 6:30PM with the store closing at 7:30PM and the nail tech spent so much time cleaning, filing, and taking care of my nails. She did a great job and I really appreciated the time she took to give me my manicure, especially when I came in so close to closing time. The entire staff was very pleasant and really kind. I would have liked if she painted under my nail a bit too, to "seal" the nail polish on my nails. They close at 8pm. I walked in yesterday for a Manicure at 7:08pm. One of the ladies (not the owner) said no. I looked at the time and stared at her. No apology, no come back tomorrow, no - we are about to close. That was very rude. The first time I went there I waited 2 hours and 13 minutes and when someone became available she started complaining because she lived in NJ and she needed to catch the bus :-( so she rushed my pedi. The 2nd time I went (a year later), Ofelia did my feet and she did such an amazing job but i will not be returning after what happened yesterday which is terrible because its hard to find nail artists like Ofelia. Edited: my nail salon of choice closed down. I entered last week in desperation and was given great service. They are over crowded with clients and it can be overhwleming and I understand. I know that the owner would have approached me in a more professional way if she were there that day (original review) Ofelia unfortunately was not there but the lady who did my manicure and the lady who did my pedi and eyebrows did a great job. AND the employees can't answer questions; they always have to check in with the owner before answering. Feels like a sweatshop is being run here. I went in asking for a pedicure and gel manicure. The sign on the door clearly said they took credit card. I had a decent if not tad expensive pedicure and was about to have my nails started when I heard the lady next to me try and pay with a card and was told they don't take card. I was shocked by this fact since I had no cash on me. They said to go to the atm at the deli. I don't have an atm card. Thankfully I had a friend staying nearby that I had to call and have them come bring cash for me. It was a disaster! There were absolutely NO apologies. The didn't care. I said they have a sign declaring that they take card. The manager said the machine hadn't worked for four days and I should've known to ask. And that it was MY fault!!! They were VERY trudge about the whole thing! Plus my gel manicure was a different color than I wanted because the manicurist didn't want to work with that particular sparkly one...
