I have only gone to Lucy's a couple of times and I've had good experiences each time. The first time I went I had a latina that was so professional and polite, she also did my nails very well. She took her time and at the end she even offered to wrap my feet in plastic so that they won't get messed up when I put on my shoes. I've never been to a salon that did that. I also had a nice gentleman do my nails another time. Did powder set and he was patient with me as I was struggling to find the right color. My nails also last about 4 weeks each time I come. The customer service here is subpar ... I went in for a gel mani which I've had many times with out the nail tech having to e-file (drill) on my nails. Apparently at this shop they don't know how to do it. Anyway I had to come a few days later because the gel polish was peeling off and instead of properly soaking of the remaining polish the nail tech was literally tryna peel off the polish w his fingers. I also asked multiple times for him not to efile my nails, use the manual file. He was smacking my hands out of his face and telling me I should just do my nails myself etc. . HONEST REVIEW: BE PREPARED TO WAIT!!! The nail techs are good. But the wait is always ridiculous. I called to say i was heading over, they told me there's no wait. I ended up waiting for almost 2 hours. Then, a full set takes 2hrs+ depending on what you want, i usually get something basic. I'd recommend their services with an appointment only, call to make sure your tech is ready & available. If you're a walk in, go early as fuck or make sure your phone is charged and Netflix is ready because you will be hanging out with them for a while. read more

They might do ok acrylic, which is the good reviews on here... but if you want SNS DONT COME HERE. Everyone was so nice to me until I started asking about my nails... I told them you are supposed to use SNS top coat. They said we put gel... I'm highly allergic and told them even told them what happens to my nails when I use gel. I AM A LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST AND DO SNS MYSELF BTW, FOR 10 YEARS I KNOW HOW TO DO SNS. I even do my own sometimes. They put so many different top coats and they wouldn't dry and was not shiny. Because you can't use regular top coat. :( I was so upset at this point. I told them why wouldn't you guys tell me you use gel. Plus my nails looked horrible. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came here today, because one of the nails I had done at this same nail salon broke, I had a gel manicure. I walked in and was greeted by who I suspect is Lucy nonchalantly (she has done this on the 3 other occasions I have been here). I tell her I was there on Sunday for a gel manicure, and I'm here to fix a broken nail (mind you, I've never had this issue with any other salon). I get a curt response, "No, there's no one. Come back Friday or Saturday." I tell her it's one nail and I just need to get it fixed for tomorrow. Still rudely I get a no and that there's no one. Mind you I was willing to wait, but she proceeded to treat me like I wasn't worth her time. As a last resort I asked for at least the nail color, so I could go somewhere else to have it fixed, and she couldn't even take the time to help me with that. She lazily brushed me off and told me I should have them just match the color somewhere else. The shade is not really a common color, and I don't like when the shade looks like a different color compared to my other nails. I wanted to call another salon to see if they had the color or google comparable shades in another gel formula. Long story short as I walked out and said under my breath, "This is bullsh**"...she proceeds to sarcastically tell me thank you have a nice day, and I politely replied, "F***k you!" Lucy you're customer service is terrible, the three times I have been to your salon I have heard you rudely speak to your customers and I have seen your other employees do the same. This is the BEST nail salon to get acrylics done at! I live over an hour a way by train but I will still get my nails here because I haven't found a better place yet and I live in Queens. I've gone here multiple times and everytime my nails are flawless and they last along time. The workers are actually very nice and listen to how you want your nails done. In the past, previous salons wouldn't give me the shape or length I asked for. You can call the day of and get in. You may have to wait a little bit but they will get you in no matter what! Customer service here is a HUGE issue. I had gotten acrylic overlay on my natural nail and the acrylic cracked the following day. I called to ask when I can come in for a repair and was told I couldn't make an appointment but to come in. I asked how long the wait would be and the woman on the phone could not give me a time frame. When I got to the salon I was told I had to wait one hour to get my nail fixed because it was "free" and everyone was busy. Understandable, except my service wasn't free it was paid for and done poorly which is why I had to come back. I was then blamed for my own nail breaking. She said I had applied too much pressure to the nail and that's why it cracked.... in just one day... right. I've been getting acrylics for years and that has never happened to me. After having the gel polish removed and nail repaired I was told they did not have the color I originally painted my nails with bc the woman who had done my nails the first time was on vacation and the color was locked in her drawer apparently. I was told to change the color would be $25 for gel and $15 for regular polish. My other option was to have my one nail painted a completely different color which I obviously didn't want. She only offered to do a silver nail (on one hand and on my middle finger as if anyone wants to walk around like that) and would not provide any other alternatives to me. I had to walk out with an unpainted nail because I refused to give them any more of my money after being treated so rudely and spending so much just for my nails to be ruined in a day. The owner, Lucy, was not being cooperative or understanding of my frustration. Meanwhile I dropped $92 NOT including tip on the day I got my nails done for a soak off, acrylic overlay with gel polish & a gel pedicure. Extremely overpriced for quality of service. read more

I had a great time at this salon. I only get my nails done once a year for my birthday but this year I decided to hold out for prom. Of course during the week of prom everything was running off schedule so I had to find a nail salon that was going to be open late. I had a very disappointing experience here. I wanted a basic mani/pedi and left with my nails looking like a kid painted them. I had to literally ask the manicurist to paint my toenail entirely instead of leaving a gap of my nail unpolished. When my pedicure was complete, I shouldn't have let her do my manicure, but I did anyway. She didn't cut my cuticles to make my hands look nice and neat. When she started to polish them, I had to actually ask her to polish my nails so that they don't look messy. The nail polish turned out thick with bubbles and took forever to dry. Upon sitting under the dryer, I noticed that she left excess nail polish on the side of all of my nails. She tried to wipe it off with her nails while she painted them, but it made them look like I had chalk all around the edges. At this point she was working on another customer so I asked her to come fix my nails when she was finished. By this time I had been in the nails shop for 2 hours...I was annoyed and ready to leave. My sister was there getting a pedicure and the manicurist did a sloppy job with her as well; non of her toes have the same shape or length. To make a long story short, there was an altercation with the owner Lucy. She ended up locking us inside the salon, called the police stating we refused to pay for the services. All we wanted was for someone to do our nails the correct way. I have never been treated the way Lucy treated me. The pictures are after the manicurist tried to 'fix' my nails.
