This repair company is terrible. The service guy did not even look at my dryer, its parts or the hookup, told me I needed the vent cleaned, and proceeded to try to collect a full service call fee for ten seconds of a house call. They sent a technician out to do a warranty repair for a Samsung appliance. The repairmen caused damage to the unit, and acted as if it were no big deal. I emailed Callahans Service Dept, and after a few days have not received a response. I just sent a follow up email, and if I dont hear back this time I will be contacting Samsung directly. I will remove this 1 star posting if someone does get back to me otherwise this bad review will end up on all rating sites! read more

Sent a tech out to see why our Refrigerator that was under warranty was not getting as cold as it should. The first guy that came out noticed the less than desired temps and said that the compressor was running hot and the condenser was leaking. He said as soon as parts came in they'd be back to replace. They sent the second tech out to replace the parts and that guy told me nothing was wrong with the unit. He used his temperature gun to confirm temps and somehow got normal readings despite my -4* freezer having soft ice cream and my 33* fridge having not very cold milk. He said it was performing to correct standards. I asked if it could be intermittent and he said yes but they can't do anything until they actually see it themselves. I then reminded him that the first tech did in fact see the problem. He proceeded to tell me that the first tech didn't know what he was talking about. I asked him to please feel my milk, sodas, ice cream, etc. and he just kept telling me that his gun said it was normal temps. If his gun read normal temps then his gun is DEFECTIVE. You don't need a temp gun to feel how warm the temps were. The ice in the bin was even smoothed over and all stuck together. Again, he shrugged his shoulders and reiterated what his gun read. I then noticed that he didn't even bring in the parts that he was supposed to change out. Hmmmm. That's odd!! We decided to get another company over and they in fact confirmed that we had major issues with the compressor and condenser. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Contacted Callahan's via Samsung as our 2-year-old refrigerator water function was cutting out. A rep came on 9/13/12 & said that the electrical board needed to be replaced. We paid $293.10 to order the electrical board. Another rep came out to replace the board and said it was not the board that was the issue but a valve. He replaced the valve. After many calls to Callahan's we were refunded $37.89 on 11/5/12 (which is said to be the difference of the board and value). The problem persisted so a 3rd rep came out on 11/3/2012 and said it was not the value but an airflow intake issue - that we do not have enough space between the sides of the fridge to allow airflow to the back of the fridge. After many calls they stated they WILL NOT refund my money even though they agree they cannot fix the problem. I have also called Samsung to have them removed as a service rep on their behalf! read more

DO NOT USE! I have a Samsung Washer that's been broke for 5 weeks, Callahans has been out 3 times and has not been able to fix it. 1st time out said it was a water pump and had to order, 2nd time they came out the replaced the water pump and charged me $330, it did not fix the problem, 3rd time out they said it was the motor and had to order it (which is still covered under the manuf. warranty), now a week later while I'm waiting on the motor to come in I'm told by Samsung that Callahans is no longer a authorized Samsung repair place and Samsung will have to find me another repair place. Callahans repairmen do not seem to know what they are doing and I would highly recommend not to use them!!!!!!!!! Terrible customer service!!!! read more

This person, I believe his name was Fred, was so nice and FAST! Came in, fixed the dishwasher, joked that it would be $79.99 and said goodbye and that was that. Dryer stopped heating. Hard to dry wet clothes without heat. Thankfully, the dryer was still covered under the extended warranty plan I bought from Lowes. Callahan's Appliance was dispatched to investigate and resolve the issue. Their Tech John arrived on time and with a smile on his face. He went to work and had the problem diagnosed within about 10 minutes. Just my luck the part that broke was not a very common one for going bad, so he didn't carry a spare with him. He said that normally, it was a 2-3 business day turnaround if they had to order the part from their supplier. He checked with his office and as luck would just so have it, they had the part in stock. I figured John would need to schedule another appointment to come back out and install the part. Not the case. John said he could get the part and have it installed today. Their office is about 30-40 minutes from where I live, so I knew it would be at least an hour or two before he could go get the part and be back, provided he didn't have any service calls in between. Again, not the case. Someone from the office brought the part from the office and met John part way in between the office and my house. John was soon back with part in hand and had the dryer fixed and running in no time. The entire time, John always had a smile on his face and a pleasant, positive attitude. From the time John originally walked through the door until he had completed the job and walked out the door was just under an hour and 15 minutes. Not THAT'S what I call Customer Service! Callahan's Appliance knows how to treat their Customers and does everything they can to make sure the Customer is happy and satisfied. A very, very bad experience... Day One - Thursday I called Callahans Appliance on Tuesday to request service to repair a Samsung dishwasher and was offered either a morning or afternoon time slot on Thursday. I chose the morning service and was told that a repairman would be at my home between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. At 11:30 a.m no repairman had showed and nobody advised me. I called the main number to verify my appointment and was told, "you still have 30 minutes." At 12:05 p.m. I called again and was told there were two other customers before me and that it would be afternoon before the repairman could be at my home. He arrived around 2:00 p.m. which caused me to take the entire day off from work. He installed a part on the dishwasher, ran an error code check and advised me that he would have to install another part but, it was not stocked on his service vehicle. He said that it may be shipped overnight and they could provide service the next day. Day Two - Friday No response. I called Callahan's mid morning asking if the part had arrived and would I receive service today. The dispatcher advised me that the part had not been ordered yet and it should arrive Monday or Tuesday. They would call me next week. Day Three - Monday No response so I call them again. They advise it will be Wednesday before they can install the part. Day Four - Wednesday I call at 8:00 a.m. and leave a message asking when will they arrive. No reply. I call again later in the morning asking the same and was advised that they would arrive during the afternoon. What time? "We don't know yet but, will call and advise you." Repairman finally arrives, installs part, runs error check and all seems good. I pay for the repair, thank them and they collect their tools and begin to leave. I walk back inside my kitchen to find the dishwasher is leaking and and a large puddle of water is on the floor. Fortunately, I was able to catch him before he drove away. The repairman learns that the drain line hose has been cut due to the dishwasher frame as he reinstalled it. You guessed it.... he does not have a drain line hose stocked on his vehicle. He said he would be out tomorrow because he was certain they had a drain line hose in stock at their office. Day Five - Thursday At this point, I have taken off work thee days to be present for my dishwasher to be repaired. Their communication from dispatch to customer is poor and I am the one calling them to advise me. After leaving a message, I receive a call advising that a repairman would be at my home within 20 minutes. He arrives 1 hour and 5 minutes later and tells me that the drain line hose they gave him at the office fits a washing machine --- not a dishwasher. He calls and talks to the parts guy who advises him they have one in stock but is unwilling to deliver it. At this point I want my charges reversed as I have taken off work 3 days, received limited communication and do not have a working dishwasher. After finally reaching the owner, who blamed his staff, the repairman, parts rep and said he had new employees advises me that the drain line host part was not in stock according to him. It was all a game. My charges are pending to be reversed. I would not recommend this appliance repair company to anyone unless you have a lot of free time you want to dedicate and a lot of patience. read more

This company couldn't tell the truth if their life depended on it. They have no problem leaving you high and dry. They set up an appointment after waiting 3 + weeks for a simple part and then never show up for the service or call you. And of course their phones turn off promptly at 5:00 est so you have no way of reaching them. My recent difficulty with them was they never showed up for a service the Friday before Christmas for my stove then dissapeared from the face of the earth. Of course then they are not back in the office again until, What day is this? Today is Dec 29th and I have still not been able to reach them. I was routed to their Dallas office once and they were little to no help I was even told by them that well you can't reach Ron because he is spending the holiday with his family! Like that is supposed to soften me up? It only made me madder that this company cares so little about fullfilling their obligation to a customer. I'm stll waiting for a call RON 631-589-7688! STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I did service call for my freezer, on first appointment no one show up so i need to reschedule my appt. That's not end of horror story, technician came out & TRY to figure out what's wrong with my freezer. Of course he couldn't figure out. And at the end he charge me service call + labor (more than $100.00) for not doing anything. He told me may be I need to change plug & if not work that way then may be compressor is bad. So basically he told me figure out by your self & write down check for me so I can get out from here because i don't know anything. I totally agree with other 2 review. They seem to not have enough service technicians. My refrigerator that is under warranty is out and it takes 24 hours or longer before they can get a technician out. So you better have a big ice chest because there is no such thing as emergency service on a warranty repair. They are the only authorized warranty service company in the metroplex for Haier refrigerator/freezers and it takes them 5 to 10 working days to get parts. They've been out 4 times since July 12 to try to fix it and haven't gotten it right yet. read more

Same experience as other reviewer i.e. terrible customer service. 5/11 service call through Samsung for a refrigerator (evaporator) noise that technician (Ryan) could not duplicate at time of service call however he described perfectly, so Ryan charged $85 to clean some of the ice built up around the evaporator ("happens but not ideal") and said there is a 90 day warranty on their (Callahan's) work and they would come back to fix it for free if I could record the noise for proof, which I did and emailed to them on 6/11 (1 month later - the ice built up was obviously the problem i.e. unit not working properly), however Ryan's email bounced back so I called and was told by a girl who answered to email it to John instead but I never got a reply, only to hear when I called back 2 weeks later from a girl at the office that John did get my email and would get back to me, now it is over 2 weeks since that follow up on my part (they have never contacted me), and even after I called again about a week ago and explained what's been going on (as I have all along when I've called - 3+ times - i.e. everything I spell out here) a girl there said she'd have to speak with the owner (Gary I think she said, but it's John according to the state - http://bit.ly/M0qHeN) to see what he wants to do about it!!! Somewhat needless to say, Samsung is either completely unaware of the horrible experience their customers are receiving from Callahan's, or they're completely aware and just don't care, but I will give them a call at least to see what other options exist (Callahan's according to Samsung is the only authorized service representative, and Ryan said he's one of only 2 technicians for them for the entire DFW area), but besides Samsung I will also report Callahan's to the TX licensing agency for their business, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Chamber of Commerce, and any trade associations they belong to, plus encourage you to do the same and post your thoughts here (on Yelp) at least where Apple's new iOS (for iPhone and iPad) will be fully integrated with it, so no one else has to suffer their complete lack of professionalism and carelessness i.e. don't buy the lie they print on the back of their cards "Mission Statement - To provide superior customer service and to exceed all customer expectations" - I'd say between service calls they charge for by techs who are only 1 of 2 for Samsung but unreachable within 1 month (bounced / bad email address), while addressing known issues during those service calls and promising to repair going forward for free if the customer can prove the issue (i.e. that they're not a liar), and absolutely ZERO response or feedback upon multiple email and verbal inquiries to their 90 day warranty (not printed or written anywhere on their invoice by the way, which I emailed a copy of to them, otherwise my check memo said 90 day warranty so do the same because) they have all the makings of a complete sham operation (originally from NY and still doing business there).... UPDATE - just spoke with Don (not John) and he is scheduling either Ryan or Bradley (other service tech) to come out on 7/5 in the morning (my preference) after I told him the story and asked when he could get someone out to fix it, so bottom line is document everything, be diligent with follow up, and be sure to get a follow up appointment, because Don didn't know anything and said he had to check to see if John got the email, which I told him I was told last time by the girl that he did, and he didn't know that they had to see "what they wanted to do about it", so the jury is still out and I'll hold off on calling Samsung for now, but will keep this post up as a warning to others where the overall disjointedness and carelessness are themes plus the work is not done yet. read more

Is there a negative 5 stars? I wouldn't do business if this were the only repair place around. They've been late 3 out of 3 times, the third time almost an hour late. I've always called them to find out where they were. Linda is HORRIBLE - she's the one answering the phone when you call to find out where they are - horrible customer service - talks over you, condescending, rude! Today, after coming an hour late, the repair guy's impact drill burned up and they can't reschedule me for the rest of today or tomorrow. For all of you with kids, you tell me how many loads of laundry do you go through in a week??? I'm STILL w/o a dryer. The repairman called Mr. Callahan of Callahan's and he said he wouldn't do any more repairs if I filed any complaints. REALLY? Not even an attempt to rectify the situation or show any sort of customer service. And Mr. Callahan, don't even bother responding to this review of your horrible company. You had an opportunity to offer a positive solution to my issue and you chose not too. read more

Our Samsung washer could not get through the spin cycle without getting a DC error code. The technician came out and determined that the motherboard needed to be replaced but of course they did not have the part and had to order it and it was backordered. Long story short...a couple different parts, 5 different trips out, 2 months later with trips to the laundromat and the washer was still not fixed. Each time Callahan's came out they did not have the part needed and did not stay to make sure the cycle finished.The last time they replaced the struts the technician said he didn't think it would work and that I could call and get my money back. Which was all fine and good until I called and it took them over a week to get back to me as the owner kept being out and nobody else in the office can seem to do anything. I finally called back and demanded an answer. Then to top it off I learned they had to come BACK OUT to remove the parts so I could get partial credit. I was pissed as I had to take off work every time they came out and gave me a 2 hour window where I had to wait. They also charged for labor each time. I totally understand paying the initial service fee of $79.95 but did not think I should have had to pay anything else. The office manager was very rude when I tried to fight it. I even stopped in at their office to talk to someone in person but the only people there were the schedulers. Once again the owner was MIA and the office manager was already gone. They supposedly left a note and would call me the next day but weeks later and I've heard nothing. Also, the last time the technician came out to take out the parts he said I wouldn't be charged for the labor....WRONG. I got a check in the mail for the refund of the parts but I'm still out about $90 because of the labor. What's happened to customer service? It's definitely not at Callahan's! I will never use Callahan's again and have told this story to all my friends. read more
