I am not a stranger to purchasing "dinged or scratched appliances." In the past I have gotten great deals this way when I lived in CA and wondered if I could do the same here in TX. I happened upon Sparks Appliance after spending time shopping down the road at NFM. NFM had a large selection but I was less than excited about their prices. While at NFM, I looked for other appliance sellers on Google and found Sparks. They were close by so I decided to see what they had to offer. The owners Shanon and Tatiana were friendly, down-to-earth, and helpful. They had the most recent version of the LG washer I previously had and Shanon let me know they had matching dryers at their warehouse. The washer had a few scratches on the top but that was it - no other issues. He offered to let us come back and inspect & approve the dryer before delivery and that's what we did. The dryer ended up having a bump in the back and that was it. Both blemish issues were not a big deal to me because I store my laundry baskets on top of my units. We saved more than 50% off retail by purchasing at Sparks. They tested the units prior to delivery and make sure they work and also tested them again in our home. He could have told me anything was wrong and I would have not known any different, but he showed me the baby sock that was stopping up my washer and got it out and running even better than before! We bought a refrigerator, washer and dryer about six weeks ago while visiting the area to find a place to live for our upcoming move in late July. This family owned and operated business was very helpful. No pressure, no hovering and they answered all of our questions. It was an excellent and low stress sales transaction. Best of all they offered to keep the appliances for up to six months in their warehouse without charge. We simply called them when we were en route and arranged a delivery and setup date. Shanon was outstanding at keeping us informed of his arrival time. He was courteous, professional and very quick to deliver, connect and setup the appliances today. Shannon, the owner treated us so horribly. This is by far the worst customer service we've EVER received, and after looking at previous reviews, it seems like other people have also been disrespected by Shannon. When placing the order with Co-Owner Tatyona, they were aware we were buying in behalf of a business with full authorization. We moved forward with the purchase due to their agreement of an invoice CC transaction and next day delivery. The next day delivery was essential to us as we're interior designers with a deadline. They were more than happy to sell us the fridge as we would become regular customers. This was May 6. The next day(May 7), the day of the delivery I received a very offensive call 30 mins before the delivery time from Shannon stating they won't be delivering the fridge due to the transaction still pending and not being able to schedule delivery again, if even, on Thursday May 12th... I understood that, but why schedule a delivery for next day knowing you have to wait for transactions to clear? Next day delivery on May 7th was promised. Transaction fully cleared on 05/09 and we were willing to provide Shannon with whatever he needed to verify the transaction as he continued to refuse giving us our fridge. Picture ID with business CC. Amex Transaction. Amex account holder information. Business documents. He continued to refuse our verification method and give us a hard time to acquire the fridge. At this time, the funds have already been pulled from our account and we told him we can pick it up, that's not a problem. Shannon followed up with "You, or nobody is going to be coming into this store to take anything from me, nor will we be delivering anything to you until this transaction clears. You can cancel, go to Home Depot, I really don't care". This was clearly a lie coming from Shannon as Amex verified that the funds have been successfully received but yet the transaction hasn't posted on his end - according to Shannon. His next comment was how we didn't have the card physically with us, but they clearly knew that as he assisted his wife, Tatyona to provide us the invoice. Again, we attempted to provide him every ANYTHING needed to verify but he refused. Today, May 12th, we walked into Sparks to see Tatyona and she have absolutely no idea who we are - she knew as she was hostile towards us immediately. Once we refreshed her memory, she acted clueless. We offered to purchase the fridge right then and there with our ID and CC to verify. Now, she refused to do this and stated our refund/cancellation has been processed. We left the store and came back only a few seconds later to ask for a copy of the cancellation. Once I asked for the receipt of the refund, she only then voided the transaction because I asked. Very unfortunate experience - I wish I could post the recording of the conversations. This interaction is by far the worst myself, and my team have been treated by company. The disrespect was extremely unprofessional. read more

I had a wonderful experience with both the owners. I have a spiral staircase and a tight closet that needed a new washer and dryer. Tatayona was very helpful when I came into the store and took time to measure different options for me. When it came to delivery, Shanon and Steve were able to get it up two flights of stairs and into a tiny nook. It was not an easy install and they made it happen! Beware Customer services is horrible the owner is arrogate. He only wants the sale once he gets that he turns into a rude unprofessional person. The appliances are not new, they do not even have serial numbers on them. You cannot get a warranty through the manufacture of the product only through Sparks Appliance. You can buy the same products elsewhere brand new for the same price. Sparks appliance reply is not true. I have been calling the company number for weeks with no reply. After not getting a reply I decided to call a number of one of their former employees who then gave me a different number. When the owner answered I was very polite and he immediately had an attitude. I did not want to change delivery date. I simply asked if he could make my address his last delivery stop for the day and he told me I was inconveniencing them. I am a planner so I went their and picked out my appliances a month in advance so as to not have to be an inconvenience to anyone. The location is very far away so I can't just pick up and go because the owner refused to answer the phone. I let him know if I cannot have my product delivered on the day I am requesting then I don't want to do business with them. That is not a threat, that's a promise!!! Owner then said he did not want my business and hung up in my face. Fine with me. I don't want a appliance that doesn't have a serial number and I can get a manufacture warranty anyway. He is trying deflect from the fact that he does not tell the customers that are purchasing from him their product will not have a serial number and is used. They did not allow me to cancel anything. They could not stop me from canceling as I was being financed through a credit institution and canceling is allowed as long as the product was not delivered. Owner failed to mention while I was in the store he continually asked was I single. Even though he had on a wedding ring. I told him I was their to buy an appliance not talk about my love life. So this is why I made the comment about him being arrogant. I was going to leave it like that but for him to respond with a lie was uncalled for. I have already purchase a brand new machine from Home Depot for less money with a 2 year warranty. He can miss me with the rest of his comments. I am not trying to hurt his business. He did that himself. He is not a victim, he was completely aware that his attitude was not professional. read more
