WARNING. This review isn't about the quality of the repair but how hard it is to schedule a reasonable appointment. On the first day, I showed up to the office during regular business hours, which is actually a law office where he works out of (?). The lady at the front desk said he wasn't there and told me to call ahead. My mistake for showing up, I get it. I call and we originally schedule to meet a couple days later. On the scheduled day, he sends me a text past the time we scheduled saying that he has an off site client and asked to reschedule to a couple days. I get it, things come up and I agree to meet up later. This time around, he sends me another text saying he cannot make it because of some personal issues. Now, I'm sure this place does decent to above average laptop repairs. But as someone who writes software for a living, I cannot live without my laptop. I had an old laptop that was overflowing with spyware and viruses. The second I connected to the Internet, the screen would fill up with pop-ups. My "genius" friend tried some basic reformatting, which did not do anything except wipe out my Wi-Fi driver. Found Calle Consulting through Yelp :) Came in on a Monday and dropped off the laptop. Went back there Friday - Great Job!!! The laptop started as fast as it used to when I first bought it, my WiFi was alive again and there were no more pop-ups when I connected to the internet. Mark helped me transfer all my files from my broken laptop (which couldn't be viewed from the damaged laptop screen display) onto my new laptop. He also installed some virus protection. He remained professional and in contact about the status of my laptop and even dropped it off at my office, which was nearby, since I wouldn't have been able to pick it up until the next week otherwise. He is knowledgeable about IT "stuff" (non-technical person over here!), but is able to explain things in a way that makes sense to people like me. Mark is an exceptional person! Let him know what I needed on my Macbook Pro and he gave me the options he thought were best. My computer was running all stock hardware and i needed something faster for video/audio software. Absolutely recommend these guys. My mother in laws computer was overflowing with all kinds of ridiculousness, and had slowed her machine to a crawl. I tried cleaning up the mess, but I'm more of a MAC guy, and could only do so much. I had heard about Calle through a friend, and checked them out. There were a few other positive reviews, so we took her PC in, and it's like a brand new machine. My problem: 1GB of memory running Windows XP - Home edition svc pack 3 on Dell Dimension 3000 Desktop. Computer would hang after I worked on any application after 5 minutes. Either the hourglass would pop-up and the computer would hang or the computer would just freeze. Solution: called Calle Computer Consulting. Mark Calle (Owner/Technician) fixed my computer in less than 24 hours. If I had gone to the Geek Squad or any other Large Computer Retailer they would have charged me ALOT to backup my data and then pay extra to install Windows 8 (since Best Buy doesn't support Windows XP anymore) and to install extra memory, etc. This would have cost way too much money and wasted a lot of my time. Note: He runs his office/workshop out of the offices of another firm located in Warner Center. You will drive up to this complex and he'll meet you in person and hand you his card and you can give him your machine. It seems a bit unorthodox since one would like to see where the office/workshop is, but this is out of his control. He is professional and sincere. He will give you updates concerning the progress of the repair via e-mail, txt, and/or phone. Advice I gave to Mark, add your picture to your website so people see who they are dealing with. I had several issues with my computer. But, the most important and probably the scariest issue, was that it seemed as if it may crash at any minute. Also, it was moving extremely slow.
