Calloway's is a casual, rustic place to have lunch or dinner. This is a relaxed atmosphere and they have mini golf, pool tables and driving ranges in their adjacent dwellings. Our group of six enjoyed dinner on a Saturday night. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Not sure if they take reservations. Our server was very pleasant. Open faced corned beef sandwich, burger, sushi, turkey club and their special grilled cheese were the items we had and everyone was happy with their meal. Prices are very reasonable and they have different dinner and brunch specials available on different days. We look forward to going back to try the driving range or to play pool. I want to warn others that Calloway's is charging a 3% "processing fee" on debit card transactions. It is important for customers to know that in New Jersey, surcharging debit cards is not permitted under the law. Check for yourself, a quick search on Gemini or Grok yields the same response "No, it is generally not legal for a NJ restaurant to charge a 3% fee on a debit card transaction, even if they label it as a "credit card" fee." When I questioned the manager about this, I was met with excuses rather than a resolution. Point is that management can help prevent this by adding the debit card fee everywhere the rule is posted. It is clear this practice is about padding the restaurant's bottom line rather than covering costs. While our server was wonderful and not at fault, the management's lack of transparency is unacceptable. I like Callaway's but don't like their management who take no responsibility in rectifying this simple problem. read more

When I want thin crust pizza I make it a point to go to Calloways. They always offer specials at a very affordable price and the food is always good. The service is very nice and the owner is always friendly and wants to be sure your meals are done the way you want them. I think this is the one place in the area that everyone can say they have been there and have had a good experience. Plenty of room at the bar and also plenty of table space. I was nearby with some friends and we decided to visit Calloway's Caddy club for a few drinks and a game of pool! To our surprise, they charged us $19 for two White Claws--the most expensive Claws of my life! I imagine the bartender added her own tip to the bill! We stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday since we were in the area. I've been here before and wanted to try it again. We waited a bit for service but it was worth it. My partner started with the wings. He said they were crispy and delicious! He then got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The fries were an up charge from potato chips which we thought was weird. He said the burger was very dry and only came with 2 small strips of bacon. He liked the fries. I had the Cobb salad which was one of the best Cobbs I ever had. It was loaded with chicken, blue cheese, eggs, olives, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. I almost finished it but couldn't. I forgot to take pics when we were served so I took them a bit late. Overall, a good meal and we will be returning. The place is overly decorated in my opinion but that's just me. PS: please do something about the potholes in your parking lot. I try to support local businesses. I would think they would try to be better since other restaurants have opened near them. I have never experienced such a negative vibe. Bartenders are miserable. Servers are miserable. Not one employee smiles. No interactions with bartender. Seems like they are told to not interact with guests. Host are miserable. I am amazed how bad customer service is. Worst corned beef dinner ever! So sad that our st Patrick's birthday lunch was diminished by the beef. It was shaved, long slices of a mystery meet that looked like dull, gray turkey bacon and tasted worse. It was served in a bowl of (too much) broth with cabbage, potatoes and carrots which were decent. Fun place to grab a bite and some drinks, hit some golf balls, play pool, or just hang out in general. There's something for everyone here! The restaurant menu is huge. Some might even say overwhelming. What shocked me is how good the sushi was. It really hit the spot. It's a little rice heavy but the fish is super fresh and flavorful. There's a ton of seating and also a decent size bar. The best part about calloways is the driving range. My boyfriend came and hit some balls before we had lunch and it was perfect. They also have a bar with pool and other games that stays open pretty late in the night if you're looking for a casual place to chill. Finally decided to stop in and try this place since mud city had a 2 hour wait. It's a nice place, the service was subpar but the FOOD!!! Never again. Ordered the shrimp scampi and hubby got the fried shrimp ( he said he compared it to buying the popcorn shrimp in a bag from Walmart), my plate tasted off and had the smell of sink water. The shrimp tasted weird so I spoke with the waitress and she goes and says well I just served it to my other table and they loved it. So she proceeded to offer me something else which I opt for crab cake dinner and as I waited I started to feel very sick, food came 20 mins later and I just about laughed cause the crab cakes looked like pancakes flat and mushy. I will submit a picture as I've seen other reviews of their crab cakes and mine definitely didn't look the same. We decided to just leave and didn't even finish anything. I had a few bites of the crab cake and the salad, hubby ate half of his fries. It's safe to say we tried this place but wouldn't return. Update 2 Hours later, food poisoning! It's been a few years since we've been here and I don't know why. I love the casual, unpretentiousness of this place. Reminds me how restaurants on LBI used to be many years ago. I was lured in by the Paul Bunyan Bloody Mary's and they didn't disappoint. Hubs and I split one and it hit the spot. I got the southern eggs benedict and hubs got the the Bart Benny plate. Both came with delicious hash browns which were more like creamer potato's cut in quarters. Great value as the bill all in was 36.00. Went here twice with my parents as part of our long beach vacation. Our last and final visit was on Tuesday June 11th 2024. There was actually a 30 minute wait in which we had to wait for table. the restaurant was very crowded. Luckily after 15/20 minutes we were finally able to sit. we actually had the same server as we did last time. my mom recognized her lol. This time, we all ordered waters, which were refilled constantly. For meals, I decided on trying the sushi, since i looked at the menu last time, but couldn't decide on anything. I ordered the salmon and avocado roll for appetezer, and the beyond burger as my meal. The server was nice and asked me if i wanted cheese, and i decided to not have the cheese on there. appreciated that! My mom had the chicken alfredo with a salad, and my dad had a seafood fri diablo with salad. The salads, and the sushi all came out together. Sushi was very good, and enjoyable, highly recommend! Loved the garlic and the soy sauce too. Entrees were also very good. We took boxes home, paid via credit card and left a cash tip. highly recommend trying this restaurant! read more

Food was great! We went for brunch and I felt the menu was greatly priced. We had monster mimosas which were big for only $5. Another friend has the Bloody Mary and a small pitcher was$5. The bar was a little slow for our server so that was a bit disappointing we ended up having to cancel our last order of drinks due to waiting atleast over 15mins for them and not getting them Our server was great and apologized. We stopped for a quick bite Friday night. 8:15 Just a table for 2. We were seated immediately. Couple of guys came in right behind us and were seated right next to us. Their waitress showed up within a few minutes and took their drink order. Their drinks came. After seeing 4 different servers in our area taking care of the various tables we decided 10-15 minute wait of not even being acknowledged by a server was enough. We got up to leave and I went to the front desk and told the hostess who seated us the table was empty and they could use it as we never had a server approach us. My wife noticed the large table we passed by the entrance had empty drinks and still had their menus as well. Obviously received first round of drinks but no order taken. read more

Kim was an amazing server and was not only highly efficient but she took the time to tell us all about the nightly specials during the week. Part amusement park and part restaurant this place has been around for decades and has taken a piece of my heart. here you can find everything from amusement park rides to a golf range, and when you're tired of that you can go inside to the bar for a drink or grab a quick bite to eat. they have everything from a range of great wings and bar food all the way to broiled seafood dinner platters. I like this place and you can't beat their nightly specials, especially the Prime Rib on a Monday. This is a solid "go to" if you are looking for a nice meal at a reasonable price. I would not consider this a gourmet restaurant, but for the prices, it is very good. I would say that sometimes the service at the bar can be slow and one bartender in particular seems to consistently be in a bad mood! Small stuff though!! read more
