We love this bar, and thinking about it, we probably never would have known it existed (because we live over an hour away) if my dad didn't find a marina in Tuckerton to dock his boat at 14 years ago. We no longer have our boat but we do continue to make the drive because of the food, service, and memories we've created here at Doyle's Pour House. We're sad we missed Sparkles behind the bar but Eddie made a great Doyle's Cosmo, one of my mom's favorite drinks. It's always very clean here and I love the addition they completed that added many new bar seats to an already large bar. Doyle's has some of the best wings around and make sure you ask for them "back on [the grill]" as it adds a delicious char to the wings. Don't worry, they don't taste burnt. We also got a bar pie, half plain and half onions. Not a great pizza by any means but for what it is, a bar pie, it is very good. Garlic fries rounded out our food orders. These are a MUST if you're a garlic lover. Even if you aren't that into garlic Doyle's plain shoestring fries are great. The atmosphere, the affordability, plenty of TVs, quality food; all of the things Doyle's has that I look for in a bar. read more

The food is good. However they're bar tenders are the worst , especially the young guy with the beard. I never in my life seen someone with absolutely no personality and basically hates his every moment at work. I have seen him get nasty with customers constantly. This isn't one bad day for him. Ordered burger medium well came back rare..sent in back came back medium...was only OK had to ask for pickles even though listed comes with them. Also ordered wings recommended to also throw them on the grill. So we ordered them that way and they burnt them on the grill. We were in the Tuckerton area and looked up local restaurants to grab dinner. The ratings were good and so we decided to check Doyle's out. There is a nice exterior to the place but the parking entrance/exit was a little tight. On my way out a truck was blocking one side of the exit, but luckily nobody was trying to get in. The interior was well lit by the sun coming through the large windows, but the decor itself was rather dark. Almost every inch of the walls had something on them, from tv's to t-shirts, and a large collection of seemingly random license plates that were arranged in every direction. The space itself, including the bathrooms, were clean the decor just seemed odd. The place itself definitely caters to the local crowd that seem to be very comfortable with yelling across the bar to their friends. Now I've done that at my local establishment, so I'm not judging. However, when the dinning room is right next to the bar, I could see it being annoying to some people. As far as food and drink. The draft beer menu has a good variety of craft beers, but the bottle beers are typical of most bars in the area, mainly filled with domestics and some typical imports. Food wise, my sandwich was very good. I got the Tuna Cucumber Wasabi Wrap. It had a really nice flavor and the wasabi sauce was just spicy enough. I got the regular fries as a side and they were fine, nothing special. My wife got the fried pork chop sandwich which she thought was tough. She got the onion rings for a side, which I tried, and we both thought they were overly sweet. The service was good but didn't think the hostess was very friendly. read more

I'm funny my two experiences the excuse was worst ever to good, the worst ever was incrediblly bad, ordered a a Shepard pie, got basically a tiny slop of mashed potatoes and was told it was the end of the batch, than at the end my guest took a few bites after complaining she didn't eatit . The bill came and it included the "Shepards pie" . Manager came out when we had asked for the remainder of our food to be wrapped up hc everything else was decent and he began to give us a hard time why we would want the slip Shepards pie to go as if we tried topull a fast one ..I said no we don't want that but he insisted on the fact that we wanted to take it to go we said no please take it back he argued I actually ended up having to say I'm leaving I've pausing bill and I've insulted me too many times..this time I randomly tried some food and it was terribly , hate giving bad reviewed but it was a very dry quesadilla that u could have made better at home..sorry your restaurant is a no go whatsoever..do not eat hear read more

I have never dealt with the kind of service. Bars are typically friendly but this one was not. The younger male bartender was more there for his friends than anyone else. Friendly interaction turned into making fun of patrons waiting for food because I'm an older generation. Then it turned into the bartender telling me I was a problem multiple times because they were his friends and I realized they were making fun of me. I tried to call about after and the bartender stayed on the phones and answered every time I called to tell me he wouldnt disclose his name and i should stop calling. Eventually i got the name Derrick, not sure if it was accurate or just a lie but this business is a joke and if the younger staff have friends they will treat you according to their friends reactions. I live down the street and have been coming for years and I'm taken back by what I just experienced today and I only got take out. read more

I finally Went to Doyle's Pour House to give it a try. What a Disappointment ! We sat ourselves at 3:30 pm (sign says seat yourself) Waited 15 min before a server finally came over. She seemed to be of one of only a few servers on the floor. She took our drink order we ordered a few soft drinks then she brought us our menus which we're extremely covered in dirty food residue on the inside pages as if they haven't been cleaned in a long time that should have been my first indication of the quality I was about to expect. We started with some simple menu items, Buffalo chicken cheesesteak, Cheese Steak egg rolls, Mozzarella sticks, and I wanted to try their Buffalo wings. First it took a half hour before we even got our food, keep in mind there had to be maybe 20 people in the establishment, half of them were seated at the bar. After a half hour wait our food finally came out The chicken wings were dry as the sauce had completely absorbed into the skin apparently they were sitting under the heat lamp for an excessive amount of time how do I know this? Because the celery was hot throughout and so was the blue cheese. Next the cheesesteak egg rolls, I asked the server if they made them she said they make them in batches, I sincerely doubt it, these are pre-made cheese steak egg rolls from a food source company most definitely not made there, the steak was ground up and grainy. My companions chicken cheesesteak looked and tasted like it was just flat frozen processed chicken meat. The french fries were the worst that I've ever had, they are using a shoestring style french fry. immediately when the server brought the food out after a half hour wait, we tasted a french fry, it was hard and dry she took them back brought us another order, no different. The only palatable thing where the mozzarella sticks they served it with a decent marinara sauce. Our server seemed to be preoccupied and did not come back to the table immediately after serving us she hadn't checked on our table once to see if the food was okay until after an hour and a half that I had to flag down a busboy to ask to get our waitresses attention to give us a check. I understand the township has very few restaurants of choice that reason alone should be enough for an establishment to take pride in their food and in their proper training of the servers. Customer service is first and foremost along with food quality. Needless to say extremely disappointed. read more

The 3rd star is a pity star, and that's because when I dipped outside for a smoke break, I saw "Full time cook needed" on their sign. I know staffing issues are a problem, but attitudes are not my problem. So the pity star is me throwing a bone and trying to pre-soften and cutting (yet accurate) remarks my review will entail. Party of 4, nondescript, 2 couples. No food allergies we care to report, just want to have a few drinks, dinner and a good time. We haven't been to the Tuckerton location in approx 6 months but we previously preferred it to Barnegat. Not anymore. Barnegat stepped up their food game and have bent over backwards to be friendly and make sure we have a good time. We truly don't ask for much. Now. The place was busy. There was 1 visible kid working the tables, pretty much thrown to the wolves, baptized by fire, and stressed out. And we all understood that. What we didn't understand was the attitude problem. I can best describe his attitude as if he was being grounded, just had his Xbox taken away and was being sent to work the floor. Besides getting the drink orders wrong (A Jack and Coke isn't a Jack and ginger; a Tito's, ginger and cranberry no lime had this big ol' lime on the rim of the glass like WELL, HELLO THERE, and the Rolling Rock Bottle--server insisted it was in a bottle--we have not been able to find bottles anywhere in this state--comes in a can, no glass) With all of the patience, asked for the Jack & Coke to be corrected. The only thing this sullen kid DIDN'T do was stomp his feet and yell "GOD! I HATE YOU!" In a tween-angst tone. Later, again pleasantly asked why the can and not the bottle. "I THOUGHT IT WAS A BOTTLE, OKAY"...Kid, my own child doesnt talk to me like that. Tone it down. Said nothing, still trying to play nice. Appetizers ordered, took awhile to come, but again, busy and now knowing they need a full time cook--not bad but not on par with previous visits. Nowhere close to Barnegat in the food area. Then I feel this disembodied hand squeeze my shoulder. Okay, ew, someone is walking up on me from behind. My people are all in their seats. Apparently its the new owner. The hand then went to someone else in the party as he made his way saying hi either verbally or with the weird shoulder squeeze. He could have put that hand to much better use helping the overwhelmed kid. Note to owner: don't touch people you dont know, especially from behind. I had to breathe deeply and concentrate so as not to reflexively throw an elbow. I know no harm was meant but you don't know me. I don't know you. Don't fucking touch me. Rather than squeeze and go, use your words and ask how our table is doing. Instead you just made an awkward situation gross. Anyway. We actually talked to the server and showed empathy about how busy it had gotten now that things slowed down. But he was quick to turn the attitude on again, like a Chihuahua, when the dinners came out and one was cold. Like it was our fault. Like we chose a particularly hard dish (hello, the house special burger) and asked for it to be cold. Or better yet, we must have an invisible freeze gun, used it, then purposely tried to rile up the kid. Attitude back in full effect: "IM GOING TO TELL THE OWNER OR MANAGER " sort of in an "IM TELLING MOM" voice. Good. Go tell Shoulder Squeezer. Nope. Nothing was done. Tipped 20% + rounded up an extra buck on the tab. No, not pre-tax, after tax. You know. The wrong/dumb way that puts more money out of your pocket than deserved and to be honest? A tip that should have been left was "GO TO YOUR ROOM" but the server had being a jerk down to a fine art. I wasn't one-upping jerkiness. Would you believe he wouldn't look me in the face, say thank you after or during any part of any issue where we explicitly said "its not your fault but could you please (get the Jack and Ginger ordered, this is a Jack and Coke)"...nothing. I almost thought for a moment he was going to say something about being displeased with his tip. I would have then welcomed that exchange. Not that they care, maybe this is why the attitude, but no worries, we'll hit up Barnegat instead for the foreseeable future. read more

Been here many times and all was good. Last night it was busy and I think the servers were overwhelmed or just not trained well. Our guy was a little bit rude in his speaking. Out of the drinks 2 of the 4 were incorrect. The place started to empty out and the server became calmer. Ordered steak bites burger all hot dishes. When they can out they were cool to the touch. Server was advised offered to heat up and he would send managers/owner over. That never happened. We paid and still gave an over 20% gratuity. This place is really nice and the Irish vibe is very strong here. Tiny flags are decorated all over the ceiling making it look festive and sports playing in every tv. I come here for the barback soy wings, they are so good and also the clam strips. It's a very nice place to eat at and not to mention someone won the lottery here so I sometimes stop by and get some lottery tickets. Teetered between 3 and 4 stars but didn't quite meet the 4 for me. Got the pulled pork wrap with garlic fries and my wife had the buffalo chicken wrap with curly fries. Definitely not bad. Just nothing to write home about. The garlic fries weren't what I was expecting as it was just a ton of pepper and minced garlic all over them. Wrap was pretty good though.
