Let me start with the servers the first time in i was greeted promptly with a smile by Laken, my server. The atmosphere was cozy with defined areas. Everything was clean and and cared for right down to the bathrooms. i could tell ownership has a quirky sense of humor based on the merchandise they sell. As i waited for the meal i watched the two servers working diligently with a smile, they didn't miss a beat with being attentive to their patrons and all of the other aspects of their job. Honestly i watched too see if they could keep the same place throughout my time there they worked like a fine oiled machine. Without having to say a word to each other they knew what to do to help each other. I can't imagine this being an easy task.. The second time coming in, i really wanted to see if the excellence was a fluke, but to my delight it was the same great experience as the first time. Serenity, My server worked with the same diligence as the first time i watched her working and again without missing a beat of the friendly service as i had with Laken, the first time in. Now here's the kicker the service was so good, i asked to speak with a manager or owner, I was told there wasn't a manager or owner present. They were self monitoring, that blew me away, these young ladies working like they were on their own, it screams volumes for their work ethics and management. Now for the food, presentation was just like the menu pics. I apologize i failed to take pics as it was served so it is pics from the menu. The was good, the breakfast i had was cooked, in my opinion, perfectly. There breakfast sausage was different than any other I've had. I've been to a lot of places. I highly recommend this place even the locals were really friendly with conversation they made me laugh, one of the locals went out to his truck and brought this spoon guy to me. I live over an hour away but i will say well worth the drive mainly for the experience. Now if i have to say anything that i would like to see different it would be the fly traps. They aren't intrusive but i would maybe use an alternative. But I'm not a fly expert and it's not a deal breaker. Unfortunately, by the time we left, we felt our Thanksgiving day was completely ruined -- this is probably the worst experience we've ever had at any restaurant. Our reservation time was 2:45 pm, and we did not get our table until a little after 3:15 pm which we understood since the restaurant was very busy. After we sat at our table, no staff came to our table for good 15 minutes. I finally stopped one of the gentlemen in a suit with name tag on for help. He said our server will be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes passed, no help. So I decided to get food first while my husband was still trying to get some help. He had to ask three other staff members to order our drinks. After our drinks were served, no staff returned to our table and asked how our drinks were, nor asked if we need anything while we were at the table. We saw other tables were attentively served and were enjoying good Thanksgiving meal, and we simply wondered why we were not having the same experience. Because we did not know who our server was, we had to stop one of the water servers and ask for a check. When we received the check, I addressed the server, who brought the check (shown as "Ian" on it), how disappointed we were, and received a robotic "I am sorry" response. As we were leaving the restaurant, I saw him comfortably sitting at one of the chairs in front of the fire place near the front reception desk, checking his cell phone. We left the restaurant feeling very humiliated, and are still feeling puzzled. The food we got was okay. The ribs had good flavor but the texture felt off as if they were microwaved or overcooked. My girlfriend got a buffalo chicken sandwich that really had no flavor and was mostly breading and super messy. I got a shepherds pie but as well the potatoes had little to no flavor.. I think this place has a lot of potential. Maybe it was just a bad night. But I think better service and curating a better palate for the menu can be done. Especially for being one of the few better bar and food places in Ogden.
