Came here on a date night and was neither disappointed nor impressed. The first problem, we waited a long time to even be seated when the bar was empty on a Thursday night. Even after that, we waited another long time to even get drinks started and food ordered in. The bartender was super kind and talkative but felt like he had really no care for being attentive. The food we got was okay. The ribs had good flavor but the texture felt off as if they were microwaved or overcooked. My girlfriend got a buffalo chicken sandwich that really had no flavor and was mostly breading and super messy. I got a shepherds pie but as well the potatoes had little to no flavor.. I think this place has a lot of potential. Maybe it was just a bad night. But I think better service and curating a better palate for the menu can be done. Creamy, crunchy, with just the right tang and sweetness. Whoever created that slaw deserves a raise and a parade. The fries were hot and herby, and dipping them in the house tartar and that pink sauce? Yes, please. Everyone is always so friendly when you go in, you can tell that they always have a few regulars in the building. They food and drinks are always delicious. Last night the bartender noticed I had ordered a Mezcal Old Fashioned and asked if she could make me something off menu for my next drink. She described it, and it was phenomenal! One of the best drinks I have ever had. It's a cute Irish style bar, with fun goat decor here and there. But it's not over the top. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and decided to eat at The Angry Goat and then play arcade games at The L.A.B just down the road. It was the perfect date! The decor was hilarious and they had a couple of TVs to watch during your meal. The drink menu was huge, so it took us a bit to pick a drink, but we finally made a decision. My husband ordered a whiskey sour and I ordered the peach tea (alcoholic). Both were delicious! My husband ended up ordering another whiskey sour while I tried a jalapeño watermelon margarita. The salted rim balanced out the sweet and made it a phenomenal drink! We ordered two appetizers, the goat balls and the spinach artichoke dip. The goat balls were good and came with a spicy sauce. The spinach and artichoke dip was the best I've ever had. For entrees we both ordered the angry goat burger, but he got fries and I got sweet potato tots. His burger was medium and mine was medium well, but both were extremely juicy and full of flavor (and a little messy). The caramelized bacon on the burger is out of this world! I could eat a plate of just that! Our waitress said that if we come for brunch, we could order a Bloody Mary with the bacon. We'll have to stop by for brunch! The fries were really good, but the sweet potato tots were amazing!!! I'm going to get those every time! Our waitress was so sweet! I loved how she brought us extra napkins before we even started our meal because I definitely needed them after that juicy burger. After a long day of traveling, my husband and I were hungry and tired. After reading Yelp reviews and getting a recommendation by our hotel, we decided to check out the nearby The Angry Goat. It has a warm vibe when you walk in with the walls adorned with pictures of cute, not angry, goats. The bartender came over and scanned our ID's before we could get a seat. Standard procedure here. We decided to sit at the bar to catch a game on tv. This meant we got to interact with our knowledgable and easy-going bartender! Nice guy, knew a lot about the beers. In fact, when my husband went over to take a picture of a list of the beer offerings he told him, "No need for that! I know everything about our beers- just ask me!" We learned that the laws here in Utah prohibit beers on tap from being greater than 5% alcohol content, but the canned and bottled beers can be greater than that. I decided on Deschutes Fresh Squeezed and my husband went with a canned double hazy IPA from Salt Lake City from Epic Brewing with a 10% alcohol content. For food, I had my hopes on trying Angry Goat Balls, which should be pretty good considering they are named after the restaurant. So I was disappointed to learn that they do not offer them at this time of year when there is a special October menu. We decided to try the autumn-themed Pumpkin Goatballs ("a spin on our regular goatballs with pumpkin and goat cheese served with a cranberry dipping sauce") after the bartender recommended them. I'm afraid this is the one recommendation that didn't go over well with us. For me, one bite was enough. A weird pumpkin/risotto texture made too rich when combined with the goat cheese and cinnamonny cranberry sauce. However, the BBQ salmon filet was delicious and generous! We chose a salad and green beans as the sides. Although it was a little on the pricey side, we had a good time here. read more

Just moved to town. Was able to get seated immediately on a Saturday night. Cute area, will definitely use the rooftop deck when it cools down a bit. I appreciated the variety of beers, we were especially excited to see Boulevard beer being from Kansas City (too bad they were out!). I had the angry goat burger. The burger I asked to be medium but was more like medium rare - cool and falling apart and slimy. I probably would have really liked it had it been cooked right. This was my first visit to the area. I, of course, looked up restaurants on YELP. I chose The Angry Goat Pub because it sounded and looked interesting to me. The atmosphere had a good feel to it. The inside was nice and looked clean. I wanted to sample some of the beers on tap and that was no issue. I liked the Bikini Blonde. I love reuben sandwiches so I chose the Irish Burger. The bartender, Heather, suggested the potato wedges as a side. She came back later to tell me they were out. Pet peeve, cooks please communicate with your servers and bartenders when items are not available. The food came out at a reasonable time and the presentation was beautiful. I enjoyed the Irish Burger. I ordered it medium and it came out perfect! The only thing it missed was a little bit of sauerkraut. I will keep this restaurant on my list to visit again. I was charged for the side that came with the entre. when I ask the waiter to remove the charge his response was, "you ate it". There was a waiter an a server and they obviously do not communicate. I ordered onion rings, which they were out of so I ordered Cajun fries instead. I was served garlic fries. because the order was incorrect, the server said the cost of the fries would be removed and he would bring me Cajun fries on the house. when he brought the order out he said, "on the house" as he placed them on the table. The charge was on the bill. The waiter wouldn't budge on the charge. I think they count on people being drunk and not paying attention to the bill. Amazing wings. Service, absolutely garbage. As a former bartender/server, I have never been more shocked in my entire life. Kennedy and Hannah were absolute garbage. How are we supposed to know the host is suppose to scan our ID's when there's no host so we sit at the bar? The they took our ID's to scan and proceeded to say how the host is suppose to do this, I would have been more than happy to go back to the host stand if there was an actual person there. Bar was dirty and Kennedy stated it was the host job. Well if you're reading this Kennedy which I hope you are, it's called team work so have your teams back. Wings came out, they were great. Neither Kennedy or Hannah stopped by to ask how they were or if we needed anything. After Kennedy saw I was done and put my plate aside while my partner was still finishing and had half of his Guinness left, asked if we wanted the check. We were watching the soccer and basketball game while listening to the great music. He wanted another beer and automatically changed his mind from her rude attitude. Nonetheless, they should really reevaluate how they talk to their guest. Especially how the couple sitting to my left got asked how everything was and if they wanted another drink. I came in on a quiet Monday night for dinner. It was perfect because I could watch the football game and decompress from the day. The beer selection is vast. Nice little pub on Washington in downtown Ogden. Lively vibe whenever we go. They often have live music, though the "stage" isn't and the space available for musicians is roughly the size of Harry Potter's closet under the stairs. It can get loud. They have the best pub pretzel in town, and the Angry Goat balls are an interesting arancini like app of fried risotto. The cod in my fish and chips was cooked very well, but lacked seasoning. I had to add a good bit of salt. My wife got the Philly cheesesteak special with garlic fries. The sandwich passed muster, but could have had more meat, veg, and cheese. It scored low on cheesesteak dripability. Who wants a neat cheesesteak? The garlic fries were regular fries topped with minced garlic scooped from one of those jars of minced garlic you can buy at the grocery store. Intense and simultaneously lazy. It's gone downhill since my last review and they do have a positive of the rooftop bar. There really isn't a host sitting at the desk so you have to wait a while before someone comes to scan you ID and assign you a seat since they are busy waiting tables and bar tending. They no longer list their bottled beers on Untapd and their menu's are outdated so you basically have to ask the bartender or waitress what is available as bottled beers. You also may wait a while before your next drink. I was finished with a beer and waited 20 minutes as nobody asked if I wanted another beer including the person waiting on me. I'm used to other places where they will notice you are almost done with you beer and ask you if you need another. I finished my beer and my food so when they finally asked me if I wanted another beer, I just said I'm ready for the check. Chose this pub for the bbq goat ribs, served with house blue cheese dressing and it was simply amazing. Hubby and I shared it as an appetizer. Great selection of brews, on tap and in cans. For dinner, I had the lamb burger, again over the top tasty. Instead of mayo, there was a delightful spread of olives! the perfect compliment to the lamb. Even the Brioche was soft and fabulous.
