So, we took a drive from Oakley just to have lunch here and it was worth it! First the place is the oldest bar in Utah so right there it is monument of sorts, worth seeing as an homage to drinking. The atmosphere is just terrific. Old, funky and just fun. Some locals were playing pool and the waitress treated us like we were in that same category. Onto the food - they server two mains, burgers and hot dogs. We both went with the burgers. Cooked perfectly and we savored every bite. The wife went with a double cheeseburger with bacon and I went with the classic Star burger - two patties and a krautwurst. Notably my wife doesn't like bacon all that much but she ate every single bite of the double burger and did not even give me wee bit of bacon. Chips were chips, just fine. It is a cash only (and Venmo) and they even have an ATM, just in case. Have not seen one of those outside of Vegas in years. Can't say enough good things about stopping in to grab a burger or dog, soak up the atmosphere and just relax for it. Comprehensive beer menu but we did not partake that day.

C'mon now - can you almost taste this? The star burger is the signature offering and super delish!

About 15 miles from Ogden in Huntsville UT (if it took you 55 hours to get there, you might be in Alabama) is an amazing old Saloon with so much character, and absolutely some of the best burgers you will ever have. I had the Star Burger, their signature offering and it lived up to expectations--- no question. With two juicy patties and a Knackwurst sausage in-between with grilled onion and melted cheese, what's not to love? This was a simple thing done SO well...I was thinking about this burger all the way back home and for days after. In fact, I'm almost tasting it while I'm writing this and can hardly wait to come back. 10/10 (and maybe more just for sheer character). Not sure if you'll see the house dog but so so so cute and trust me, I would have had a dining partner if it were up to the pup. I don't suggest straying too far from your burger if you make the acquaintance. Haha! Run by an all female team in the kitchen and at the bar (at least when I was there), great warm and friendly service and I can hardly wait to return and take others. Thanks Shooting Star!!

Me eating again at the Shooting Star Saloon.

Food: Of course, the Star Burger is a must. Two huge meat patties and a hot dog. They serve everything with Lay's potato chips. It is delicious. Service: If you have not had the experience of eating here you may get confused. You need to order at the bar. They do bring the food to your table. If you choose to clean off your table, you can. It's not required. They get very busy, so the service is outstanding, all things considered. Ambiance: This place is nostalgic and fun. They have dollars stapled to the ceiling. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Choose your own music using the old jut box. It's fun and gets the entire place up to play the songs they love. Note: You must be 21.

Fantastic burger and a really cool location! The service was amazing and it is just a cool little place.

Friends brought us to this hidden gem. This place was originally built as a trading post in 1850's and converted to a saloon in 1879. They only accept cash and have a very limited menu but it's worth a trip in to check it out. The crazy decor is amazing. It has dollar bills all over the ceiling. There is a stuffed St Bernard head on the wall along with tons of other animals.

Great lil spot near salt lake! We popped in here after a day at Snowbasin and it hit the spot. It's a cash only joint but they do have an ATM inside if you don't carry cash usually. I had the double bacon cheeseburger and some of my friends got the star burger, which had two Pattie's and kielbasa. Beer was cheap and food was good!!

This is one of our favorite burger places. It is not what you would expect when you walk in the door you are going to want to turn around and leave Don't. This place is great! I think it is the oldest saloon in Utah. They have a very limited menu of burgers and hot dog. No fries or anything else. The shooting star burger is great a hot dog on the burger. The place is small about eight booths and a few tables and of course, the bar. Nice selection of both tap and bottled varieties. Give them a try and you will probably like it. No kids or anyone under 21. Be sure and bring your camera.

I have heard many good things about the Shooting Star from many car and motorcycle enthusiasts. This was my first visit. As the rest of my party went inside, I stayed back to get some outside photos. A local patron walking by gave me a quick history lesson about how this is the longest continuously operating bar in Utah going back to the 1930's. He also mentioned that they are the only one with a dog head on the wall. This I had to see. Much to my surprise as I walked through the door there it was looking right back at me. Being a big dog lover I hope there is a sentimental story behind this beautiful stuffed dog head that looks back smiling at everyone that enters and exits the building. The service was fast and friendly. We did have to remind our server about the coffee order, but it did finally make it to the table. The burgers were massive, moist, and delicious. Needless to say we all left full and happy. Highly recommend you take the ride up the canyon if you have never been. If you have been there before, isn't about time you went back?

The shooting star - perfect ambiance and food for a mid day burger and beer - the menu is simple -burgers and chips (not English chips, don't be daft!) and a great selection of beers with Coors on tap. Service is prompt, payment is cash. Sit back and soak in nearly 150 years - enjoy your star burger and a food coma!

Once again, it was like coming home from a long time being away. The beer was ice cold and star burger the best.

The Star Burger was excellent, and HUGE. It's messy so you may need to take a shower afterwards, or at least wash your face!

So here we go...So a big group of us went to the shooting star first and after talking all together we decided we would go to Carlos and Harleys instead for a late lunch. We all traveled from different places and wanted to try somewhere most people hadn't been. As soon as we walked through the door the hostess, Renee treated us awful!! We had 2 other people that had to make a quick stop and because they were not there they wouldn't seat us. Everyone was starving so we just told them to seat the 10 of us for that moment. Again Renee acted like we were putting her out because we said just go ahead and seat us. Not even 10 minutes later the other couple showed up and we asked to add an extra table. Renee stormed out, as we all watched to go talk to her manager. The bartender was so sweet and came to add the extra table. A few minutes later we were approached by the manger Janelle and she aggressively asked who wanted to speak to the manager. Which we never requested. She then argued with us about how many people we said we had in our group. RENEE knew we were waiting for 2 more! But Janelle wanted to argue with us instead of apologizing for the way her employee treated us! Most of us only ended up ordering appetizers to get us through because we were all hungry. We were very tempted to just leave and if we wouldn't have had so many people we would have! Service was good and so was the drinks. The bartender was just awesome, I didnt get his name. I never write reviews but I felt like this was a story that needed to be told! We will not be going back there again!

I pulled up my Colorado digital ID, and the employee seemed completely thrown by it and insisted on seeing my physical license. I understand businesses have policies, but the interaction felt unnecessarily awkward. I'm in my mid-40s, don't even drink alcohol, and still felt like I was being treated as if I were trying to sneak into a bar. It just set an odd tone from the start. I didn't choose the restaurant, but as someone with celiac disease, this was an even bigger issue. I let the staff know up front that I have celiac disease and need to avoid gluten. I ordered a bunless burger and skipped the fries since they don't have a dedicated fryer. I ordered a side salad instead, only to find out almost all of the dressings contained gluten, so I went with the vinaigrette. The burger itself was overcooked and honestly pretty underwhelming. The worst part came at the end of my meal. I took a bite of my salad and felt a crunch. There was a crouton mixed in. I had to spit it into my napkin in front of my coworkers, but by then I'd already chewed it and had crumbs throughout my mouth. For someone with celiac disease, this isn't just an inconvenience. If I'd never mentioned it, that would be one thing. But after telling the staff up front, there should never have been a crouton on that salad. That's beyond normal cross contamination. It was simply careless, and unfortunately it overshadowed the entire experience.
