Fun brewery! It's actually a pretty large spot. They always have trivia every time I've gone lol which is fun! There is food that you can order at the kiosk and then you can go grab it next door!

Big location.. quick service but no food at all FYI ( not even pretzels or chip) but they did share you can bring food in. I had the Cider and my husband the lazy IPA. Both very good.

Enjoyed my first experience here! First impression is a laid back somewhat dive bar vibe that definitely supports veterans and first responders. I even see on their website that they welcome ways to collaborate to honor military, veterans, and first responders. I went with a couple of lighter beers--the Freedom Lager and the Screaming Eagle Cream Ale--that I found to be as easily drinkable as say a Miller Lite (similar texture) but with great unique flavor. I rated them both highly and would recommend. Callsign also has live music every Friday 7:00-9:00 which I love. This particular night they featured Lindsay Blacksher who is just lovely.

Nice place to grab a beer and hangout. The employee was very friendly and chatted with us. Service was good. Beer was good too and a wide variety depending on what you'd like.

Went in thanks to our PubPass! We like the size of the place, has TVs, and has a patriotic/American theme! The cream ale and brown ale were great beers!

    Bomber Brown Ale. Very good

Great beer in a good space brewed with an awesome cause. Callsign is brewing quality beer with a mission to support veterans and American military heroes. The brew pub area is large with a clean simple design. Lots of military and KC sports memorabilia dot the walls. Good tv set ups with clear sight lines from all tables. It is pretty simple and doesn't try to be something it isn't - just a great space to drink good beer. There is also a long narrow outdoor space that gets great shape in the afternoon. In terms of the beer, good variety and we liked everything we tried.

Our last visit was wonderful. New staff and music bingo was awesome. Owner has adjusted to the local crowd with changes to personnel and we will now be regulars. Pizza delivered from the Caddy was 5 star. This is definitely someplace we will return to and visit on a regular basis. I love when the locals feel welcome and we do. Thank you for making your place one of our favorites!!!!

The space feels relaxed and approachable without trying too hard. Big open taproom, easy atmosphere, good energy. The kind of brewery where you can settle in for one beer and accidentally stay for five. Mary behind the bar was awesome right away. Friendly greeting the second I walked in, super knowledgeable about every beer on tap, and genuinely helpful without making anything feel scripted or sales-y. Hospitality matters to me a lot, and she made the experience feel welcoming immediately. I worked my way through quite a few beers: Hop Cuddle, the collaboration with Tall Trellis, their Mexican-style lager, Weathered Wit, Pavers Porter, and the rice lager. Every single one was excellent, but that rice lager was probably my favorite. Crisp, clean, refreshing, incredible mouthfeel -- one of those beers that disappears way faster than you planned. Weathered Wit deserves a shout too. Light tartness, citrus notes, classic Belgian yeast character, ridiculously refreshing. Everything you want from a witbier on a warm day and they absolutely nailed it. (beeradvocate.com) Also, I'm genuinely excited to see breweries collaborating again. Beer feels more fun when breweries are creating together instead of existing in separate lanes, and it's cool seeing that energy still alive in Kansas City craft beer.

It's definitely a spot I'd come back to on a normal weekend. The Drinks The Hits: The Hard Cherry Mash Sour Cider and the bright green Scooby Snack were both fantastic. The Miss: The Irish Coffee. They couldn't tell me what kind of coffee they used--a major red flag for a coffee cocktail. The Food (Bay Boy Specialty Sandwiches) They were serving sandwiches from Bay Boy alongside gourmet chips. I grabbed the El Jefe with Sweet Onion Hawaiian chips. The Sandwich: A killer Cuban-inspired build on their signature Dutch Crunch bread. That bread is the real deal--super crispy on the outside and soft inside. Because of the crowds it did take about 20 minutes to get our food but the girl behind the counter was really nice despite trying to serve hordes of celebratory drunkies. The Atmosphere Beyond the beer, the parking lot was full of food vendors and some really cool cars. Definitely worth checking out for the vibes alone!

North KC has several craft brewers, so take the time to visit any or all of them. Big Rip is easy to find, just across the Broadway Bridge and your first right. It's also easy to be drawn to, with the smoke smell of Hawg Jaw just next door. Nice west-facing patio, plenty of parking, and a smaller indoor area makes for a great tasting opportunity. It's all beer, so you are welcome to BYO food. I got a flight of five, anchored by their flagship brown ale 'Hathor's Sweet Brown', and for a guy who loves the malty goodness of browns, this was a total winner. Normally I wouldn't be all over the map with samples, but as a Big Rip rookie, I dabbled with a hazy ale (Arachnid) all the way to a juicy, fruited ale (Big, Red, & Shifty). All of Big Rip's offerings were good, if not great in the case of the Drake: Rakau and the Hathor's. At any rate, Big Rip is clearly brewing craft beer, and they are doing it really darn well. Nice place, they don't try to confuse you by being a beer kitchen AND brewery, and that focus allows them to offer up one of North Kansas City's better bier halls.

I don't patronize this place all that often, once every 1-2 months or so. I appreciate that they usually have at least one beer that I haven't tried before added to the tap list rotation, so they're still willing to experiment and come up with new brews. Bartenders are usually pretty attentive, friendly, personable, and are willing to give you samples to try if you aren't sure which beer to try. Also, the venue is pretty neat, as it's a renovated building in downtown Saint Jo, and they've kept pretty true to its industrial roots with exposed brick, high ceilings, and sealed concert floors. It doesn't hurt that they have an entire side of the building with great big windows to let in natural light. I have two criticisms - 1) it needs a bigger outdoor space. The deck out back is nice but it doesn't have much space to avoid the smokers. 2) I'm a huge fan of sour beers, and RB's brewmasters just haven't put out much in this genre. If they had more of these, I'd probably stop in more often.

There are plenty of tv screens mounted throughout the building and with plenty of World Cup matches being played in different venues, it was easy to watch the different group play that was going on. We came from the airport because our flight was late (big shock). The area nearby was quiet in a slightly deserted way for Thursday. There is an upstairs and downstairs, connected to a Vine Street Chicken place. One could drink/eat upstairs but the Bingo was downstairs. It was quiet for a Thursday, only 9 or 8 tables playing. We sat with our flight and listened to the numbers and patterns. We didn't win anything but it was fun. I got samples of East 71 (Cream Ale); Worth the Climb (Pilsner); Jazzman (Dark Lager) and Hood Saison. I got a full pint of the Jazzman as well. The only food they serve is VIne Street chicken, so we ordered that after the game; we wanted to eat downstairs so my party picked it up and brought it downstairs. There was eventually a bartender downstairs as well. One not great thing was that when we arrived at 7 or so, (we parked nearby) the bar downstairs was not open, so we had to order upstairs and BRING the flight downstairs. No elevator! It was interesting taking a paddle of 4 small glasses of beer down a flight of stairs. I guess after 2 flights we did not want to wait til after Bingo to get beer. The food was very good, the chicken and mac/cheese was great, but the only sauce I liked was the peach Bourbon. Yum! Both bartenders were friendly and helpful, and there were board games and sofas for cool nights, and a nice outdoor patio for sitting outside. There was a cooler of cans to take home, but since we were flying it was best not to risk it. I'd go back later if I return to KC, esp to get a few cans to drink in my room instead of paying stadium prices!
