I forgot how good their beers were and I grabbed an IPA that was a collab with discourse (another favorite of mine) that was delicious. I also tried a lager and their sour which were both great. I love Strange Days! It's a great neighborhood brewery in River Market! There is lots of seating inside, but they also have a big patio to hang out on. When the weather is nice, they have their garage doors open! The bartenders are super friendly and welcoming. They always have a great assortment of beers, and I have yet to be disappointed by one. There's always something interesting going on -- like right now they have a peanut butter and jelly seltzer!! You can build your own flight for $20, or you can do their daily variety flight for $15. You can order food from Burn Theory via a QR code on your table, and it is delivered right to you! There is a small parking lot that they share with Double Tap next door, but typically you can find street parking right on Oak St. They are huge soccer fans here! Unique brewery sat on the Rivermarket corner of the streetcar. Soccer is a huge hit here, so if you are a fan and like to watch, this is an awesome option for that. When we went, there was an option for food, but we didn't eat. I had a flight of different beers since it had been awhile since I was in and really liked most of them. Their flights include 5 beers for $20 or a preselected variety flight for $15. I got the Aquatic Inquirer-Hazy Pale Ale, Channel Surfing - Hazy IPA (my favorite), Wishcasting -Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA, Sweater Weather -Hazy Blonde (not my favorite), and Grillgoyle -IPA. The brewery is dog friendly so bring your furry friend. The decor inside is very fun and fun for a few photos. This is a perfect place to go if you want to watch a Tottenham Spurs match. They also host a free trivia night on Thursday night. If you get hungry there is also a food truck that will deliver to your table inside the brewery. From the food truck I recommend the nachos. As with everything else in the river market area, parking is limited but they have more parking spaces than most places have in the neighborhood. read more

Had some great beer conversations with the man working here, and when I described what I like (hoppy lagers) he didn't look at me like I was insane, he knew exactly what I was talking about and directed me to other breweries in the area with those types of brews on tap. Strange Days is definitely an underrated brewery in KC. They have a great spot a little bit outside of City with lots of seating, including a patio. There is a small lot for parking but you can normally find street parking too if needed. The staff have always been nice. The brewery has a large soccer audience and will often open at special times to have watch parties. I'm not a huge soccer fan but I've been to a few watch parties here and they are fun and super packed. I believe at this current time, you can bring dogs inside, but I'd check before just to make sure because policies are always changing. They do have Burn Theory kitchen for food on Wednesday-Sunday. And it's super good if you haven't had it. It pairs great with the beer. You can also bring in food from any of the surrounding restaurants if you prefer. Finally, the beer. They always have a pretty wide variety. They have lagers, IPAs, stouts, sours, and things in between. I tend to gravitate towards the stouts and sours. Those styles always hit the mark for me. We happened to stop by on a lively Thursday night. The vibes both inside and outside are set up for a great relaxing night with friends. They've got low tops, high tops, outdoor seating and a wicked mural outside. The trivia night they put on during our time there was a ton of fun, with varied questions and a great amount of participation. I appreciated the prizes they gave out as well to winning teams. The service was quick to receive your beer and the team at burn theory were friendly as heck. The beers they offered were unique with a wide range of options. I really enjoyed the blueberry sour they had just come out with. For burn theory (love that they have a food option on weekends), I would recommend their fajita chicken nachos and absolutely sub it out for fries instead. The tortilla chips are good but a bit thick for my liking and don't work with all the flavor options (I personally wasn't a huge fan of the buffalo chicken nachos on chips). I really enjoyed my time here but I will say the prices are just a tad high for both beer and drinks options. There's a lot to like abut Strange Days Brewing. The beers are "globally influenced," which means they like to experiment with traditional recipes. I think they do a good job. We all like what we like, and the brewery has a little something for everybody. I like the brewery's dual seating plan. Inside, it's your standard beer hall with tables, chairs and some small couches. Outside, they've transformed their parking lot into a beer garden of sorts, by strategically placing picnic tables and large standing barrels that encourage you to socialize with other beer-loving visitors. Really cool eclectic brewery that I had the chance to visit recently with a coworker. Unfortunately, as I was with a coworker, and it was kind of a work thing, I didn't get to take all the pictures I want because they really are fascinating. You can see if mother photos this place has eye candy all over the place, and to top it off they have some really fantastic hazy IPAs. Normally, it's tough to find a brewery that has more than one decent one on Tapp at this particular day they had to as well as another pale ale. That was also very tasty. Not really my style of brewery. It looked good in the reviews and a very nice taproom, but if I'm gonna go to a brewery, I expect a lot of good options. I tried a few light pilsners and didn't really think much of them. A flight consists of five glasses (which is a good deal), and I found three of the ones I tried to only taste as light as Miller or Coors. And a few of the other choices were fruity stuff or shandy's that I normally don't care for. The English pub ale I did get was pretty good and the only one that would bring me back here in the future. And their hazy IPA was pretty good too. I wish they would've had a 6 pack of that stuff so I could take it back to Texas. Overall, it's not my favorite brewery in the city to visit, but the bartender was nice and they had sports on TV. My first time here was for a Yelp event and I had a couple of my all time favorite beers, so I had a hankering to come back for my birthday weekend. An unusual February weekend that had summer vibes, the weather was nice enough for Strange Days's patio to be in full effect. They have flight options and I absolutely love the Hana Yori Dango, Strangeling, and Splendid Defending (also love their Scenic Trafficway but it wasn't available this visit). My second time trying out this great brewery in the delightful River Market neighborhood. This was my second time here, and to be honest, my first time was at the end of a Passport Program tour night with some friends and I only vaguely remember the experience. I do remember liking the beers, a large space (this was February, on the verge of COVID lockdown), clean restrooms, and fun décor. I did NOT remember that it was in the River Market so this was a pleasant surprise the second time making the trek over! Haha I brought a friend here for some safe, social distancing patio drinks. We each had a few half pours. Their Black is Beautiful and Love Hate were our favorites! They have provided a very safe space during this very strange time to be alive, including hand sanitizers, no seating at the bar, distanced tables, and a shaded patio. It actually does the opposite by embracing the wonderful strange world around us and making great beer from that inspiration. There is a decent variety of beers on tap, and those beers are also sold by the can as well. A flight is always a good option to try all of the different beers. I came here with a friend one winter night, and we both got ourselves a flight. My flight consisted of the strange groove, numakulla, le petit, funk corner, and dirty chai basic batch. All of the beers were tasty. I enjoyed most the le petit, which is a light and fruity beer that was very easy for me to drink. However, my friend did not enjoy that one as much since it was too sweet and fruity for him. To each their own, and you are bound to find something you like here. The taproom is located in the City Market area. Parking is available in the small lot or on the street. The taproom is a super laid-back place that is great for hanging out or watching a game at, and the staff is pretty nice. The decor is quirky with all of the TVs stacked along the wall, but the decor looks cool rather than strange. There are some snacks here but no kitchen. Bring your own food or get something delivered if you need a bite with your beer. Your day will be less strange after a cold beer. read more

Tucked away in City Market is a fantastic gem of a brewery! There is something special about the first time you walk through the doors and see such a large and eclectic space perfect for any size of friend gathering. They are accessible by the KC Streetcar and even have monitors tracking its' location so you can plan your departure accordingly. Why more businesses along the line don't have this, I don't know. Great variety of beers and even a few canned cocktail options. I am a huge fan of the LePetit, it's one of my favorite beers in the city! This Belgian Table Ale is light and easy to drink but full of flavor with just the right note of fruitiness. And if you're a soccer fan, make sure you come in for EPL on Saturday mornings. If you're worried about going out in public due to Covid19, you could go here and feel pretty safe. They have markings on the floor to follow for walking, have hand sanitizer on each table, everyone is required to wear a walk unless you're sitting at your table. It seems pretty good from that standpoint. The beers were pretty good. Understandable they are not doing tastings and their 8oz pours were not that expensive but as a person who has gone to nearly 400 breweries, I'd like to have smaller pours to try more beers without wasting as much. In the brewery scene it's less acceptable not to finish the beer rather than like a wine tasting. So that would be my only complaint. I think my husband liked most of the beers we tried. Super super awesome spot!!! As a self proclaimed beer nerd, I'm always on the search for new and unique beers and when i researched the beer menu, I knew this was the spot. The lady and myself bellied up, before going out to dinner, and had two bad ass beers!!! The first was Grandmas Breakfast which was a cinnamon bun ipa with an excellent balance of sweet malts and on the back end a bitter nip to the pallet. Located in the River Market, Strange Days is uncommon. If you like soccer (football to the rest of the world), this is your place. They focus on English Premier League games here and open up to accommodate for the 6 hour difference in time. But don't worry, they will have all kinds of soccer (and other sports) showing when the EPL isn't on. They recently underwent a slight remodel. The inside is filled with all kinds of cool stuff (old TVs, soccer memorabilia, and even a painting of "The Dude"). If you're big into IPAs, you'll love their beers. While some of my favorite beers have not been back on tap as often as I'd like (thinking of you, mango habanero gose), I can usually find one that I like. read more

It's a fun little space down by city market... almost seems like Maps is taking you to an abandon building but it isn't!
