    Blue raspberry sour ale

We went to the CiderFest event they held over the weekend, and we had a GREAT time! They have a huge space now, with tons to do while you're there. They have plenty of space for a group, or just a couple friends depending on who you're coming to hang out with. There is a big outdoor area for seating, and then they have a huge space inside with games, corn hole, swinging chairs, and a bar with cocktails as well as the normal bar for the brewery! Bay boy now has a walk up window you can order a delicious Dutch crunch sammie from to enjoy with a crisp cold beer. Cinderella block currently has a Royals themed Blue Raspberry Sour Ale and it is AMAZING! The ciders we tried were very interesting, the Yuzu was by far the best one with the Pineberry taking second place. Highly recommend this spot to hang out with friends and have some great service and beer of course!

This place is phenomenal and has atmosphere for all types of people. The main tap is laid back. Couches and comfortable chairs. They have an extended dining area and a nice patio. The newest feature is the Commons. Artificial turf. Cornhole, pool tables, darts, games, foosball, swings from the ceiling and a food window. Highly recommend this place. Full bar.

We've stopped in at Cinder Block many times and always enjoyed the beer and experience. We came by over the weekend to see the new expansion space, The Commons. This space is National Park themed, which I love and has plenty of seating and even some swings. There were games like darts, pool, and corn hole as well as arcade games that were free to play. There is a bar in the Commons as well as Bay Boy sandwiches. We had a few drinks, shared a sandwich and played darts. We had a great time and we plan to return!

I was in the area and had a little time to kill so I popped in for a beer. Staff was helpful in describing what was what of their beer flavors. Beer had a good flavor and tasted like it was described to me. The building itself has two large indoor area to hang out in and an outdoor patio area for those nice nights.

The day was dreary as I met my friend at Cinder Block brewery. We were both feeling low and wanting a cold one to forget about life for a while. So it was a jolt to our dour perspectives, finding the tasting room to be a Mecca of tranquil positivity and happy people, with abundant foliage hanging from the ceiling, along with comfortable seating. We settled in on one of the plush couches and ordered up some liquid mood enhancers. Cold and delicious were they, the Juicy Pils and Passion Party of particular note. Between the quality of the brew and the enchanted surroundings, the veil of gloom was lifted. Happier outlooks prevailed, also due in part to the super friendly servers, who, I get the feeling, will always brighten your day, peering into your soul and matching your disposition with the perfect ale for you. Or, more likely, serving whatever pour you request. A great, fun spot.

Chill atmosphere, reasonable prices, & some wonderful craft beers. Highly recommend the wit. They had some seasonal seltzers on the menu as well. There's a separate larger room & patio for additional seating.

Cinder Block is one of my top ten favorite breweries in KC! They've been a staple for the past ten years at least and I always enjoy going and enjoying some beverages. They have a large space in NKC with plenty of seating. The brewery is kinda split in half or thirds is probably more accurate. There's the main brewery area where you can order beer, plenty of seating, and TVs if you want to catch a game. Then there's the reclamation room that can be booked for private events or can be used for additional seating and space. Finally there's a giant patio with even more seating-covered and uncovered and even some yard games-bags. The outside patio is dog friendly btw. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They don't have food but they have a nifty kiosk that you can order food from the bbq spot next door that can then be delivered to you at the brewery. Or you can bring your own or maybe hit up whatever food truck is visiting-check CB's socials to see who is on deck. They offer a wide variety of beer. One of my favorites is Black Squirrel. It's a delicious stout and I love including it as part of my annual Black Friday festivities. If you're not into beer, they also have a pretty wide selection of ciders. And they're actually good, probably one of the best in ciders amongst the other breweries. Recently they started offering cocktails-frozen and just regular. Those have also been great. I love the option of a frozen cocktail on their giant patio on a gorgeous sunny day. Definitely check them out!

When you walk in you get such a good vibe. It's super adorable and plenty of plants! The couches that are options to sit at are super comfy. This is definitely kid friendly. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. I got a cherry cider that wasn't bad. I'm not a huge fan of their beers. But if it fits your flavor profile definitely a neat spot! I feel the pricing is a tad high for being their own brews. The service was pretty good!

After a day of disappointment with everywhere canceling their fireworks due to a previous heavy rainfall, I was so excited to see that Cinder Block brewery posted on IG that they were not only open, but they were having some fun patriotic drinks. My bf and I immediately drove out and they were both delicious. This was our second visit. They have plenty of seating and the service was quick. I was a big fan of the place the first time we came here as well.

I stopped in here on a Tuesday evening while passing through town. This is a nice little brewery. They had trivia going on in one section but I sat at the bar as it was quieter. The bar tenders were friendly and fast. I tried their cherry cider and the Mexican lager, both were good. Of the two the cider was my favorite, as it wasn't too sweet or tart considering it was a cider. The area around the brewery also seemed to offer a lot. I'll definitely stop by again on future visits to KC.

Cinder Block Brewery is very spacious and a good place to visit all year round, with two indoor rooms, along with the option for outdoor seating. There's plenty of seating and it's a lively place for draft beer. We popped in right as they opened on a weekday over the holidays, and there were multiple other parties that walked in shortly after.

I have been acquainted with Callsign brews for a while but had never stepped foot into the actual brewery space. Thanks to pub pass that all changes because nothing entices me more than a bogo beer! And to top it off Tuesdays happen to be $10 beer flights so it was a double win. As far as the food menu goes, it's nothing innovative just good bar food classics like sandwiches, burgers, wings, wraps, and appetizers. This time around we went with beer drinking staples- wings and loaded tots. The wing prices I thought were pretty fair ten bone in wings for $16 ($1.60 a wing isn't too bad nowadays). You also could split the ten count with two flavors which is what we did. The first flavor that caught my eye was Parmesan Truffle which I thought was a unique rift on the classic Parmesan Garlic, I was pleasantly surprised when these came out and were dry rub. I prefer a dry rubbed wing because first of all, I love salt and these tend to be definitely more on the salty seasoned side than saucy wings that can be syrupy sweet sometimes depending on the flavor. Secondly, with a flavor adjacent to Garlic Parmesan a wet wing can be very heavy and thus, have the tendency to get soggy. The only qualm I have with these wings is that the flavor didn't exactly live up to expectations, it had nice seasoning and the Parmesan flavor was detectable however, I never got any of that umami flavor of Truffle. They were extremely crispy though and I would order them again. Now onto the next flavor, I decided to order the other creative flavor on the menu (the other two were Hot and Mild) this was a hot honey bourbon glaze. Again, this flavor promised a punch of flavor and didn't fully deliver, I got the notes of the sweet bourbon glaze but none of the heat from the hot honey. The wings themselves weren't over-drenched in sauce so they did stay rather crispy but, it wasn't anything special. The last appetizer we ordered to munch on were the loaded tots which were pretty standard but, good drinking food. They were indeed loaded with lots of liquid cheese, crispy pieces of bacon and a healthy drizzle of ranch. Just so you know, these are listed as loaded fries on the menu but you can sub tots which I was grateful for since I think a tot stays more crispy than a traditional fry when toppings are piled on. Now onto the star of the show, the beers of course. We started with a flight to share so we could each choose a favorite brew to over a full pour of and utilize our Pub Pass. The smoothie sour was my favorite of the bunch which surprised me since I'm usually a hazy IPA girl. That was also a solid choice though and it's what my friend ordered as his full pour. The smoothie sour though was peach cobbler flavored and had the sweetness of ripe peaches, I instantly fell in love, it wasn't as sharp and sour and instead had a smooth finish. Some sours are tougher to drink but this went down easy. The other beer that stood out on our flight was the wine beer, almost akin to a cider but stronger in flavor with a base of Malbec (my favorite red wine). The color was vibrant and it had a rich flavor profile of grapes. Not sure I could have drank a full pour of it though if I'm being honest, it was a little too intense.

North KC has several craft brewers, so take the time to visit any or all of them. Big Rip is easy to find, just across the Broadway Bridge and your first right. It's also easy to be drawn to, with the smoke smell of Hawg Jaw just next door. Nice west-facing patio, plenty of parking, and a smaller indoor area makes for a great tasting opportunity. It's all beer, so you are welcome to BYO food. I got a flight of five, anchored by their flagship brown ale 'Hathor's Sweet Brown', and for a guy who loves the malty goodness of browns, this was a total winner. Normally I wouldn't be all over the map with samples, but as a Big Rip rookie, I dabbled with a hazy ale (Arachnid) all the way to a juicy, fruited ale (Big, Red, & Shifty). All of Big Rip's offerings were good, if not great in the case of the Drake: Rakau and the Hathor's. At any rate, Big Rip is clearly brewing craft beer, and they are doing it really darn well. Nice place, they don't try to confuse you by being a beer kitchen AND brewery, and that focus allows them to offer up one of North Kansas City's better bier halls.

We came from the airport because our flight was late (big shock). The area nearby was quiet in a slightly deserted way for Thursday. I got samples of East 71 (Cream Ale); Worth the Climb (Pilsner); Jazzman (Dark Lager) and Hood Saison. I got a full pint of the Jazzman as well. The only food they serve is VIne Street chicken, so we ordered that after the game; we wanted to eat downstairs so my party picked it up and brought it downstairs. It was interesting taking a paddle of 4 small glasses of beer down a flight of stairs. I guess after 2 flights we did not want to wait til after Bingo to get beer. The food was very good, the chicken and mac/cheese was great, but the only sauce I liked was the peach Bourbon. Yum!
