I had a emergency no water issue, tried calling 3 times over 15 minutes to have the recording say "Ken" was not available and the voice mail box was full. When I called back again, Ken answered and when I asked if he was available to help, he laughed and said no. We are selling our property in Tucson and moving. We had already physically moved, which made coordinating home repairs very difficult. Our home is large and fifty years old. To complete the sell required a number repairs to clear escrow. The team at Cal's plumbing was very knowledgeable and efficient. Billy, ably assisted by Andrew and Nick, did an amazing job of replumbing the downstairs in my 1947 era handcrafted house. Having to navigate through a dark, dirt filled crawlspace did not deter them from removing a mass of old crumbling pipes and replacing it with a new system. Also removed old unused gas lines, old cooler lines, and assorted detritus from previous owners. I called Cal's plumbing to help locate a problem in my house. I requested that they bring their camera, but they did not. Instead, they did a smoke test--two, in fact--and bashed a 2 x 3' hole in my original 1950 plaster wall. These tests determined that they needed a camera to locate the problem. I felt scammed. Although Danny was pleasant enough, I wonder why he didn't just bring the camera, as I had specifically requested. These fruitless investigations cost $625, not including the repair to the wall. Danny said that most likely the cast iron pipes below the cement slab of the house were rotted and that, if they could do the treatment, it would most likely be between $2000 and $10,000. I then called another company who DID bring a camera and they determined that there was build up and blockages in the lines. They used water jets and snakes to clean the lines and the problem was solved with relatively minor expense and without jackhammers, excavation, etc. read more

Cal's sent two great guys to fix a major problem. We had an awful smell coming from the kitchen sink. They diagnosed it right away and a week later, they returned to do repairs and a few other odds and ends. I can't say enough about them! Warm and friendly, super efficient and all knowing! Every issue was addressed and fixed and I felt like we finally had real plumbers at work, with years of expertise under their belts, not some guys who pretended but really didn't know what they were doing. I'm trying to figure out why Yelp suddenly shows me in SanFrancisco and how I can change it. THIS REVIEW IS FOR TUCSON. I thought the drip system had sprung a leak but a pipe to the backwash for the pool had broken. I shut off all the water to the house and Billy from Cal's showed up as soon as possible -- within a couple of hours. He told me it was the pipe for the backwash for the pool. He shut off that water and turned the water on for the house. He came back a couple of days later with the specific pipe he would need but while doing the repair he found that another pipe and the faucet also had to be replaced. He had the parts for that and completed the job. Billy was very knowledgeable and I trust him completely. If I have any more problems, I will call Cal's for sure and request that Billy do the work. Plumbers, as everyone knows, are expensive but for the two visits, new parts, and the time it took, I think that comparatively the cost was very reasonable. I definitely recommend Cal's Plumbing to anyone in need of a plumber and especially to anyone in need of a plumber urgently. Had an emergency this morning where all of our drains backed up. I called a friend whose husband is a handyman and got a recommendation for Cal's. Called Cals and they had a plumber at the house within 90 minutes. He ran the motorized snake and then a root cutter through our front yard clean out and had everything running within 15 minutes. He recommended marking the date, and then when the drains need another root cutting, I would know how long it takes for them to grow and could be proactive in the future - great suggestion. The price was fair the technician was courteous. I believe that these guys are an honest company, and I will be using them again when the need arises. read more

My home is of an age where repairs are needed. Cal's Plumbing is more than up to the task. When a problem is repaired, I never have to call for return service. I have mainly had Leonard, Dan and Josh for repairs. All three are knowledgable, skilled, efficient and friendly plus they are nice to my dog, Bijou. I have to say first and foremost that Cal's Plumbing does fantastic work. We have an older home (1975) here in Tucson, and recently had an issue with our washing machine not draining out our main clean out, instead draining out our kitchen and laundry clean out and on to the street. Within no time, an unidentified "nosey neighbor" reported us to the Tucson water department, who showed up at our door step to investigate a potential violation. We were not found to be in violation of anything thank goodness. Another plumbing contractor (Not Cal's) came out and told us it was likely a collapsed pipe and provided an estimate of $8000.00 to dig under the house and replace the pipe from the laundry to the main clean out. We called Cal's to get a second opinion. Cal's plumbing came out and in a short time snaked out the laundry clean out all the way to the main clean out and found no evidence of a collapsed pipe. The laundry is now draining all the way out to the sewer as it should be rather than into the street. We always have great service with Cal's.
