I have paid monthly for 46 years with this company (they had a name change recently but I'm still with them) and provide my own salt for softener. When a strange substance appeared in both toilet tanks I did a search online and it was suggested that it could be from the water softener. Called CalSoft, Oscar came out at exact day and time promised, and exchanged the old tank for a completely new one, verifying that I knew how to operate the timer if the power went out. Things had indeed deteriorated with that old tank (it had been replaced once before and seemed like only last year but had been ten). I was online searching for a company to install soft water at my home. I was tired of all the hard water deposits on everything. I received a call from Dallas and he came out at the appointed time to go over everything with me. I signed up for the service and the installer came on time and installed the system. It works great and I'm loving the soft water. The billing never came so I left a message and he said he'd take care of it. He did and I had an invoice a few days later. I have used Rayne Water Conditioning for 5 years now. I have both a water softener and an RO unit for drinking water. Jay Davila was the original sales person that I used, and he has remained my service contact ever since. He has always promptly communicated with me and come to my home to check on the system when I wasn't sure it was performing correctly. He is polite, efficient, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. I have total confidence in him and am very happy with Rayne. It is nice to know that the unit I purchased is still promptly serviced when needed, and they are always available to troubleshoot issues. I didn't leave a review in the past but feel obligated to do so now. We had the portable exchange tank service while living in Nipomo last year, and they had been charging us for exchanges of tanks for months even though the tanks weren't actually being exchanged. When i realized this and called the company, i was told the driver was unable to get in the garage door (the way they've always entered) and said they'd send someone out to exchange it that following day. Miraculously, someone got in and exchanged the tank! Strange...right? Since they said they werent able to get in and that's why we were charged but not getting the product. So when i called to cancel the service altogether and get a refund for the missed exchanges we paid for, they said they don't give refunds. They did deliver a few tanks over the next couple months to cover part of the paid exchanges. Today, about 10 months later, i called to set up service at a new place in orcutt (honestly, i had forgotten about the discrepancy until this phone call) and when i finally got ahold of Dallas to schedule it (i had talked to him 3 times, was told he'd call me back, and he didn't show up for a scheduled appointment last week) he said he talked to the owner and the owner wouldn't start service with us because of the past discrepancy. When i informed him of the discrepancy, he said they "did all the work; drove to the house, took the tank to the door, and no one was home" and that's why we were charged. Even though they got access recently and nothing had changed with our garage. Ridiculous. I said ok thank you, goodbye. So, if you ever call this company out for charging and keeping your money, make sure you know they'll never provide soft water to you again. Dallas was very nice and helpful despite all of this and he had a heavy load, so this doesn't reflect him. I will be contacting Culligan, as he recommended. read more

We love their water softener, it works great. But, not so sure about their business practices... Have had their service for 3 years, with a water softener unit change out every month until one day they tell us they cant get into the garage. The garage opener code doesn't work...? Okay, fine let me check it. Code still works, maybe they have someone new making the delivery? A few attempts were made over a few months on their part to deliver the softener cylinder, for some reason they are still unable to get into the garage with the code that hasn't changed. They proceed to charge us for the cylinder swap outs even though they hadn't made a swap. We noticed this and told them payments were made every month without a swap out. I know. Dumb, we should have noticed, but like I said, we have had them for 3 years and no issues until this. We spoke to them and they offered credit for those 3-4 months of charging for a service we never received. Great! issue resolved... now how about trying the code to the garage that hasn't changed again? They come and successfully, might I say magically (?), swap our softener unit for a new one. Great! problem solved again! 3 months go by, no issues... until we notice we never received the credit they offered us for those few months of no service. We call, they say something like "Blah blah, owner says credit offer isn't valid because we never confirmed...blah blah." We dispute it as much as possible, they refuse to honor their word. We did confirm with the woman that we were happy with their credit offer when they effing offered it.. how is that not confirmation on our part? Gosh, I know it's Friday when we tried to dispute it, but the TGIF high shouldn't throw customer service out the window. TL;DR version: We cancelled our service because they back-peddled on their word, and cheaped us out of a couple hundo in justified service credit. read more

We have been in our house for just over two years. Over that period of time we have had constant problems with hard water and our area our dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes it was leaving a white Trail on the dishes and on the bottom of the dishwasher are shower has a glass door and the glass door was full of water marks constantly even though we would clean it with different types of cleaners and then we decided to break down and get rain water conditioning the service man that came was really helpful name Jada Villa and he got it setup for us within two days time and since then we have sparkling glasses dishes and it's even good for my skin I have dry skin and it seems to make my skin less dry and also our shower looks terrific so we're really happy that we did finally break down and contact this company and we're really happy with them read more

About half as expensive as the other supplier in town, 4x the service in my book.... I couldn't believe I had a problem soon after installation. They were very attentive and sent someone over immediately. Even though something had gone wrong with my water heater which they weren't responsible for, the technician was easily able to spot the problem and fix it. So he fixed my water heater for free basically and didn't blink an eye. That goes a long way with me. They'd need to make some huge screw ups to loose me as a customer.
