We have Culligan to rent our RO unit and a water softener. We owned a water softener but recently it fell apart and left a nasty residue that meant we had to replace all faucets in the house and the hot water heater. Realized it is cheaper for the rental and have them maintain the system. The staff is great to deal with on the phone and when they are here with fresh tanks. The service has been great. read more

I was a Culligan customer for many years. Our water heater failed prematurely and we had a new one installed. It had been recommended that we occasionally purge some water from the water tank valve. When I did, I was astonished at what came out of my fairly new tank. Brown sludge. I purged the water heater tank until the water ran 95% clear. I switched our water softener valve to bypass and complained to Culligan. The rep looked at the residue and confirmed it to be resin beads from their tanks that leaked out into our water supply. This continued to occur until I cancelled our service. Other problems that were eliminated by removing the Culligan tank included freshly laundered clothes having an odd odor and loud noises coming from our water heater. read more

Very expensive Bait and Switch charges for cylinder exchange, and 20 bucks a month rental for a bypass valve, which is only used by them when changing cylinders. High pricing for the exchange service which, IMO is only needed at half of the rate they change the cylinders. The water is very salty and killed our plants, and it raised our blood pressure due to the extremely high Sodium content. When I finally discovered the rental charge for the bypass valve, I called and discontinued the service. They came out to retrieve the rental equipment (the bypass valve) and proceeded to perform some of the worst craftsmanship I've ever witnessed, see pics. The main rub with what they left me, is that it would be very difficult to insulate the copper pipe maze/menagerie. Then, when they finally came out to re-do their crummy craftsmanship, the technician was arrogant, defiant, and wanted real bad to argue with me, telling me I was wrong. We get routine delivery of bottled water, and water conditioner tanks (resin tanks for softening hard water) each week. On average once a month we get a tank that doesn't do anything ... the water is unsoftened on the first or second day of installation. That means they aren't changing the resin inside often enough, or maybe they're forgetting to recharge the resin. That's not acceptable because it damages pipes and soap won't work. Try calling them, and they aren't responsive. I hope you read this and fix your problems, because we're going to quit the service soon if you don't. read more

Don't maintain equipment. Soft water takes makes water yellow. Cleaned out our lines and were completely filled with residue. Absolutely disgusting. Glad to know we've been drinking remnants of the the resin beads. Sickening. read more

Great place to get the best tasting water in the area. I fill up inside their store for .40 cents a gallon so $2 for a 5 gallon container. Cleaner than using the outside machines. Those are new this year but people leave nasty stuff from their containers in those machines a lot of the time. Pretty nasty if you ask me. But all through covid they have kept the inside of the store very clean. Customer service is hit an miss depending on the cashier there. Most of the time they are friendly even if it's totally busy in the store. If you're looking for a deal and awesome customer service take a trip inside their store. read more

Their quality control on water softeners is as follows: the customer has an old defective softener installed, suffers for several days of low pressure due to the defective softener, then the customer calls and they replace it. No in house quality control. No apology or reduction in billing. Very poor "customer service." Do not use this company. read more

I only go inside to fill up my water jugs. Not in the best neighborhood but the fill station located outside doesn't seem like they are the cleanest and sometimes are pretty busy. The staff inside are nice and the water fill stations they have indoors are super clean. After you fill your jugs you can use the carts to load them up then pay the lady at the register before you leave to load them on your car. For x3 5gal. water jugs it cost $4.50. we save so much money going here and not buying water bottles all the time. And at the same time we feel like we're helping the environment out a bit by not swimming in hundreds of plastic water bottles anymore. Lol read more

Customer service is indeed terrible - wish I had read Yelp before contracting. Their competitor charges $5 more per month but may be worth to end the hassle. I requested twice per month service but routinely only get one, or none. Have called in and discussed repeatedly. No manager available, no on takes responsibility, just excuses and an offer to eliminate the charge. Bottom line, this is a crooked business practice and it's clear they have zero reason to change. As a business owner or a homeowner I would never recommend Culligan. There customer service is poor . If you have a problem with a unit you have purchased from them they are very slow to come out and want to remind you that when they do you will need to pay a $95 service call regardless if it is their issue or not. My experiences with Culligan have been very good. They installed my water softener and reverse osmosis units in 1994. Aside from a few minor repairs and servicings, the systems have worked perfectly. Recently, I called very late in the day to have them repair a break in my R.O. line. They said their schedule was booked for the next six days, but they would see what they could do. The next morning I called at 8:30 AM and they had Dennis, their tech, here by 9:15 AM. He worked diligently, checking, explaining defects, and replacing each item as needed. By 10:30 AM, he had finished and my R.O. system was working perfectly, again. A very responsive and responsible company. read more

This company is horrible. I originally started at 9.95 for water softening and then 3 months later it jumped to $40.00. I was also getting rust in my water, because they use old galvanized tanks instead of SS. Not only did my bill jump, but it varies in small amounts and never in my favor. I feel like a complete idiot for getting stuck in their contract! Do yourself a HUGE FAVOR AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Buy the Nuvo system instead. My tank was just changed and I went out to my garage and there is water all over my floor, great! If my water bill goes up because of this, I will definitely get the Better Business Bureau involved. Their customer service is horrible. It took them 2 months to transfer the tanks to my new home. They would not get everything done in one appointment. When you have an appointment with them, they give you a big time frame for their arrival, like 10-2. So, basically someone have to be home all day to wait on them. People answering the phone don't know what is going on so you get transferred multiple of times. I can't wait for the contract to be over so I can cancel their service. After cancelling my service and turning in ALL of the bottles (for which we were already charged a deposit on each one) we were supposed to receive a refund. I looked at my bill and they showed that they picked up the bottles and actually charged me for another bottle deposit so they would not have to refund my money. When I called and asked the lady said "oh we have to show all the bottles returned so we have to charge another deposit on the bottle." What the heck is wrong with this place? The water is fine, but the customer service STINKS! We decided to go with a purchased R.O. system and were going to cancel our Culligan R.O. knowing that we originally signed a contract for service, I called to make sure that we were ok to cancel service and would not be charged. They said there would be no charge. Well guess what, they miss spoke the first time and charged me anyway. When I called to find out, they just said "there is nothing I can do for you, you signed a contract". Not very friendly, and over a small charge as well. I was reluctant to sign up for the service and have almost cancelled but kept it because of the great customer service. I have called twice with billing questions and spoke to a different rep each time and was very impressed both times. They go out of their way to accommodate you and are very fair with billing.
