We live in east Arroyo Grande and our well water has a lot of iron. Consequently, we also had iron oxide and iron bacteria. Despite trying multiple strategies and companies to correct the issue, we have lived with dirty water for 18 years. Finally, in desperation, I contacted a local company with a good rapport with our neighbors, Richetti Water. Greg, the owner came to our house and was very familiar with our neighborhood water issues. He recommended and installed an iron filtration system. His estimate was very reasonable, but still, I price-checked doing the work myself. Letting Richetti Water do the work was about the same price, without the possibility of me screwing it up and costing additional dollars. Up date: The Tech got there in a couple of hours. He fixed the problem, which ended up to be an "O" ring got moved out of place. It took only a few minutes to fix, but he spent a lot of time re-adjusting the equipment. He explained the settings and when he was done I had a better understanding of the unit. A few months later I let it run out of salt, but didn't know how to do an extra regeneration on it. I couldn't located my manual. I called and they sent me a pdf immediately. I tried two other plumbers, one said nothing was wrong with my system and it cost me a service call (expensive). The other came out and 'I took it apart twice, replaced several items and said he couldn't fix it and gave me a quote on a new system for $2300. I paid for the parts but no labor. Responsive, Reasonable and Super Friendly Over Easter weekend, I left a message via Yelp with a few different local establishment's and first thing Monday morning the nicest person at Richetti contacted me to answer my questions using the email feature. By noon, they had sent the friendly, knowledgeable, no-nonsense Greg over who gave us an estimate (free of charge). By 4pm, we relayed the costs of replacing our ancient Water Softening System to our landlord and by 4:30-boom!- appointment set up for Friday for installation. This company is horrible, all the way to the top! We were asking them to evaluate our water to see if there was anything harmful in it. They proceeded to run a simple minerals test designed to sell us a water softener. Then the manager Greg and the owner Tom are terrible to deal with. I am very disappointed, The tests tehey ran did NOT INCLUDE ANY BACTERIA or METALS or ANY POISONOUS SUBSTANCES. The resutls cam back with a proposal for a water softener. Meanwhile my family has been using contaminated water for months since they reported on our answering machine that "nothing harmful was present" Garbage, will never use them again. I called Richetti after spending about 2 hours on the phone with Sears regarding a leak in my 2 year-old Kenmore water softener. Sears was going to charge $75 just to come look at it, never mind the cost of the repair. Richetti scheduled an appointment with me within 48 hours (and would have come sooner if the softener was actively leaking) and Greg came out to take a look. Within a few minutes he had figured out the problem and even found me a used replacement part that he gave me at no cost. I had an emergency water leak from a water filtration unit at the sink. Couldn't get a plumber out so I tried Richetti. They sent Ken out quickly and he fixed the leak and removed some misc. parts such as an old instant-water-heater that didn't work. Great, fast work for a very fair price. We had our whole house remodeled about a year ago. After we moved back into our house we noticed the water from the R/O system didn't taste as good and the tank was taking much longer to fill with filtered water. We called Richetti and set up an appointment. The tech's name was Ken. He did an excellent job of explaining how the remodeling crew hooked everything up wrong when they re-installed the reverse osmosis system after they installed our new countertops and kitchen sink. Ken went through the whole system and replaced all the necessary filters. The whole time he was working he was explaining everything he had to do. Very high quality work at a very reasonable price. On his way out Ken had to use our front yard house for a minute and he noticed it was leaking at the lever to turn the water on. (It's been leaking for about 5 years now) I didn't see him do it but apparently, he fixed that too because it no longer leaks. They had to come out (way out) and test the water to determine what systems I need for landscaping, irrigating and home use. These guys were the best.
