Pastor Terry came by and introduced himself with a warm welcoming and the let me tell you this church body is on fire for Christ and definently speak boldly of His love and what our calling is in sharing the truth as spelled out in the Gospel. The worship team were leading the congregation in praise and shouting out in thankful and melodious voices. Pastor Terry is certainly annointed as his passion in Christ's calling on him to lead and teach with a love that is so evident. I encourage anyone seeking a home church where the spirit is alive and well and God's love is being shared in truths that are undeniably inspirational, look no further. In visiting many churches throughout California and attending mega to mini church groups and fellowships it was a beautiful day giving glory to God and sharing love with Pastor Terry and the church family. Ephesians 4:1-16 was the Christ inspired teaching of the day and understanding our calling and gifts bestowed upon us to glorify the saints and ofcourse bring glory while being thankful to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each of us has a special Gift that God calls us to use to bring glory to God and unity to the church body. Thank you Pastor Terry and church family as I hope to visit again very soon. We want to be a people of welcome and laughter, of faith and hope and love, friends and family, justice and changed lives. We want to be a people where the homeless know they can find food, the broken can find healing, and the rejected feel at home. We want people to see our diversity of backgrounds and color and say, "What in the world to these people have in common? It's where one group is working to care for local drug addicts and another is training teachers in Malawi. It's where you will find normal people learning to pray, coming to faith, struggling with temptation, finding new purpose, and getting in touch with His power to carry that purpose out. It's where people bring their own little seed of faith in Jesus and discover, in getting together with others to honor the one true God, that the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. That said there a people from all walks of life who attend with a strong contingent of young families. The message is solid, but not pushy. I really enjoy the main pastor's delivery which often includes storytelling, historical context, and an explanation of the actual scripture language used. That may be my favorite part boiling down ancient teachings to terms that are easy to understand. Should you decide to get more involved, there are many different ongoing service opportunities. They actually will support you if there is a cause you care about and want to start your own service initiative for others to plug into. Last, if you have kids, there a two different rooms to drop them off to do crafts and activities that vary by their age. Branches is a good group people up to great things. Definitely worth checking out if you are on a "church search."

But I haven't ever attended Episcopalian and I guess today was the day. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the beautiful service was lightly attended. No matter: nice, friendly congregants, lovely music with a fabulous soprano singer and a lively multi-lingual female officiant who spoke movingly and sensitively from the heart. Normally, this church has an 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday service in English and a 12 noon Spanish service. The parking lot is small but there is street parking and Max Berg Plaza Park across the street with a lot. I am so used to the mega-church I usually attend, but then these smaller places utterly charm me too. The rustic building is designed along the Spanish-style, red tile roof decor commonly found in San Clemente. I admired the real holiday wreaths and draped pine greenery decorating the sanctuary. Check St. Clement's out for yourself.

A review of sermons now on YouTube today shows Tom still wonderfully engaged in faithful service to Christ and His Word, only stronger and more mature (we were honored to be attending there when Tom gave his first sermon as the church was seeking a new pastor)! Tom's a gifted preacher and WILL spur you to spiritual growth if you're attentive to his preaching. It's really cool to hear him hitting on the same themes of the supremacy of our Lord's Word, iconoclasm to the idols of our times, and loving service to one another, among others. I recall now how much we love him for his dedication to the Church of Christ. I'm a little surprised there aren't more reviews here, but we Presbyterians can be oft too restrained in praise of man. But, sometimes it's duly earned and needs to be stated forthrightly. If you're of a mind to try this church you definitely should! Although the CSLCV is listed under "Churches" here on Yelp, people who identify with all sorts of organized religions, or none at all, attend for "soul food" and for practical, spiritual attitudes for everyday living. There are terrific programs, available for free or for love offerings, for children, "tweens", teens, families and singles. Each week there are guest musicians. The Center itself has an awesome band and choir of its own, playing and performing contemporary music. "Adventure Man" plans adventures which you, your family and friends may wish to participate in (Would ballroom dancing be an "adventure" for you? Shooting on a firing range? Singing karaoke?
