Not only did we use Yelp but we backed up our decision with a google search and that took us to Reddit. Equiano was a top suggestion on both sites. And we understand why. The service was 100% top notch. Helpful. Friendly and knowledgeable, not only about what they offered but about the regions best shops! The coffee itself was very expressive. The Camaroon was totally my style with an earthier tone and the Chai was delightful. The outdoor seating was so very comfortable with a unique sort of panache that I would love to have at my neighborhood coffeeshop. The raked gravel was a nice touch. And even though they didn't have indoor seating with the drizzly day, it was a highlight that I will be repeating in our future travels.

The strawberry matcha latte is dependent on your personal preferences. I personally found it a little on the sweet side. It was better after I had mixed the drink some, but still a tad bit too sweet. In my opinion they have the best well balanced espresso latte in town. The bonus: they roast their own beans and you can buy them by the bag. I order a vanilla latte which is consistently delicious and never over sweetened. To me it's important to taste all ingredients equally: bold coffee, vanilla, and steamed milk. Other "coffee" shops have no consistency and tend to over steam the milk or add too much sweetener. The shop has a cozy, welcoming feel with plenty of seating. It's a great place to relax or get some work done. While the coffee is the main draw, they also offer a selection of tasty, locally-made pastries which are a great complement to the drinks.
