Calwide Painting did a wonderful job painting my entire condo - baseboards to ceilings - prior to move in. They did meticulous prep work, which included removing tin wallpaper from the kitchen ceiling, adding dry wall to two bathroom ceilings to close outdated ceiling fixture recesses, and repairing walls where we ripped out a bathroom vanity. I also had them repaint my kitchen cabinets. All the work was done very well using Dunn Edwards, it was on time, and at what I found reasonably priced for their effort and skill. Their work just transformed our home. Their customer service is also fantastic. When I learned that our new closet doors were delayed, Becky agreed to return and paint after the install. Little did we know it would be several months later! But they came and finished the job. The only flaw is that we found some drops of paint in places throughout the house. Thankfully it was nowhere that wasn't removable and given the amount of prep/painting they did, I didn't expect utter perfection. Out of the three bids we got we chose Calwide because of three factors...1) Edwin the estimator arrive on time and did a written detailed professional estimate 2) his knowledge and recommendation on color choices validated us choosing the perfect colors for the unit 3) their bid was the lowest . They showed up on time, did a PERFECT job ( and we are super picky) in three days. My daughters house was embarrassing dirty ( young career woman) but they cleaned away spending massive time prepping everything methodically. Then they offered to come back and retouch after our carpet layers came three days later at no additional expense. They were on time and did a great touch up job. BEWARE! We had used Calwide in the past and were happy with their work. Also, my mom, aunt, and brother had used them in the past as well. This time, however, the results were awful. Unfortunately there was a real lack of detail oriented-ness. It seemed like they were rushing and the results showed that. They haphazardly moved all of our belongings and they broke many items including our bed frame and framed photos and decorations. Furthermore, it was nearly impossible to communicate with the foreman. He would often respond to questions with guttural sounds, not words. After the first days painting, I walked around the house and put up Post-it notes to signal many of the trouble areas to the foreman. I even pointed them out to him in person. Then, he took them all down and did not address the problem areas and just left them as they were. When they were all done with the job, my family and I were super disappointed with the quality of the work. I reached out to the company and the woman on the phone was super nice and understanding. She sent out the owner Edwin to assess the work. He agreed that it was not up to their quality standards and he would send the (same) foreman back to fix all of the mistakes. He assured us he would be more detail oriented this time. A couple days later when the foreman came he literally spent 20 minutes going around and then vanished. We are done trying to make them do a decent job. You may want to look for a different painting company. read more

We've hired Juon Painting three times now and never had anything but positive results. They painted the interior of our house in Thousand Oaks, then several years later the interior of our house in West Hills, then a year later the exterior of the same house. BEWARE! My HOA contracted them to do some basic drywall patching, tape, mud, texture and paint after some plumbing repair. They said "these guys are great; you'll never know where the holes are." Well, you can distinctly see where the holes were! They did not float the mud, the texture was atrocious (spelling?) and the paint job was horrible; seemed line the roller had a bunch of debris on it. They definitely do NOT have pride of workmanship!! Seems like they just wanted to get it done quick, get paid and get out. They were also rude to my wife when she inquired on some issues with their work half way through, they did not tarp areas off so drywall dust got everywhere and they pissed all over our bathroom. NOTE: I never take the time do write reviews like this; however, my experience was so negative I felt it was worth letting others know. DON'T USE THEM! read more
