I have used this Shell Gas & Car Wash throughout the years with no problem at all but today was not a good morning 5-26-2025. The lady employee who has her dog outside in the lot & was working, usually she is decent. It started off when I walked in and said "I would like $18 gas and also pay for a Car Wash", she looked at me and said "How can that be?" Then I had to repeat myself 3 times, she wasn't getting it. I 'finally said I just go out there and pay at the pump... the pump took my card, then it wouldn't pump gas... I go back in and couldn't even finish my sentence asking for help, she was not in a good mood this morning. That was the 1st incident, then I went to the car wash, and it rinshed the car, rinsed the tires to start, then the soap... then bamm the machine got stuck where I can hear the clicking and waiting 7 minutes for it to continue, NOTHING.... I looked at my receipt to call, there was no phone number to . I waited 10-minutes, stuck in the non working carwash, I did go in to kindly tell her the CarWash didn't complete it's task, it got stuck. Sadly she wasn't hearing me, made it like it was my fault... She had a defensive mechanism, I didn't want to get into that her state of mind was not normal... I finally said, forget it and just left. She was rude this morning, challenging to a customer, didn't even consider to listen to what I was trying to say in a kind way... "Lady,the Shell company's CarWash is not working, it got stuck! Please send this employee to Ehics Training and Customer Service Training, She needs it and does not represent this company well. I will forgive her treatment but will never forget this horrible morning due to her lack of understanding. read more

I usually come here, but today a lady with short hair approached me nice, gave her my money to pump my gas, was waiting for her to ask me if I had Rewards but she didn't. She looked and me with her hands like "what are you still doing here?" Basically.... I looked at her and said "can I put my rewards in?" And she tried to act nice & said "yeah! Sure!" I purchased the $10.99 wash and put in my code. On entering I drove a tad over the line so the machine soaped my car but did not wash it. It then instructed me to exit. I parked and went in to tell the cashier the problem, requesting a new receipt. She was rude and beyond nasty and told me that I did not know how to use a car wash and that she was not giving me back any money or a new receipt. I decided not to get irate but I wanted to reach across and yell at her. Finally she printed a new receipt and literally threw it at me. To end it all it was one of the worst car washes I've had and left water spots everywhere in fact the back of my car, which is a hatchback, was not cleaned at all. I wonder if she is the owner. Running late to a wedding with a dirty car I searched Shell Gas stations as I know some have washes. After reading the reviews here I was hesitant but it was my only option. I even called and asked if they used soap to which an Indian guy who had obviously been asked many time replied they did indeed. Long story short they did use soap but the wash is a bare bones one without the wheel guide that most have. There were a lot of soap spots but the car was generally clean overall. If you're not in a rush don't come here but in a pinch it will do fine. read more

I have had good luck in the past with the Camarillo shell car wash. Today I went and the car wash monitor instructed me to pull forward and stop. I was way too far forward when the wash started and it didn't wash the entire front of my car. I never make complaints ever but I thought I should let the cashier know in case something was wrong with the car wash. He told me "you pulled too far forward and no one else has complained since it's been on since 6am". Normally the wash will tell you to back up if you're too far forward this is why I wanted to let him know. I wasn't expecting anything but a refund or the courtesy of driving through again would have been nice. I was kind and was met with such rudeness and horrible customer service. read more

Then the car wash was out of order. they knew it was out of order and didn't put a sign on it. I asked for a refund and was asked for my receipt. I asked him how I'm supposed to give him a receipt when his machine isn't printing. He said, "How am I supposed to know that you bought a car wash without a receipt?" Then he said I could come back when the manager was there. This happened a while back and I used to get gas there a lot, but after that exchange my fiancé and I have not returned. We love coming here to get out car washed. Buying gas I have no comment it's just buying gas.. However the car wash is great . My 23 year old son who has autism and I enjoy listening to our music and watching the colored foam. About six months ago I tried to redeem a Ralph's reward at this gas station. After going through all the steps and receiving approval, I was unsuccessful in getting the gas nozzle to work...just a series of clicks. I went inside for help and after a difficult communication with the elderly man behind the register, who spoke broken English, I finally understood he wanted to run my rewards card. After which he said I didn't have any rewards. I left and went to another Shell gas station and redeemed my reward without any problem. Yesterday I had an exact repeat of this experience, only this time when I went inside for help the same man raised his voice at me and said I was doing something wrong. It did the job. The prices are like "5.99" or "6.99" and it doesn't take card. So if you have whole bills and you want to get your penny in change, you have to go inside. The carwash itself was decent. Although it didn't clean all the poop off of my friend's car, it did the job and got the majority of it. Horrible car wash. Just like the rest of the reviews state, there is no soap, it's just water. Have to leave just to go home and re-clean the exterior of the vehicle to get what the car wash failed to do. Plus their advertisement of a $2 car wash discount if purchased on a Wednesday is a scam. When I confronted the staff they said the discount is taken off of the gas price which is 15 cents off a gallon. I told him that is everyday if I purchase a car wash, he said that is what there Wednesday discount is as well. What a joke! read more

I've been a customer of this gas station for several years but after today this may have been my last visit. One of the reasons I did frequnt this gas station was because of their self serve car wash. The car wash had been ok for the price but over the last year or so the car wash price has been increasing and the quality of the wash has gone downhill. Specifically their $7.00 express car wash is now nothing more than a high pressure rinse. That's right if you want soap to be applied to your car you have to pay for the $10 deluxe wash. At first I thought the car wash was malfunctioning when no soap was applied to my car but after exiting the car wash I stopped back into the store to let the clerk know the car wash was not applying soap and this is where I was told that a $7.00 express wash does not use soap. Of course this no soap policy is not printed/posted ANYWHERE and in the past the express wash did include soap so I can only guess this is a sneaky way for the station owner to save a nickel by deleting the soap in an express wash. Well that nickel the owner just saved has cost him many dollars as I most likely will not return. So if paying $7.00 to have your car hosed down with reclaimed water and if you don't mind water spots & streaking then this may be the place for you. I should add that this station used to discount your gas purchase by .10 cents a gallon if you purchased a car wash but that too has been taken away. read more

For the car wash, which I have used twice. First time, purchased with a tank of gas. The code did not print on my receipt. Did not notice until I was already in front of the car wash. Car was acceptably washed, although not entirely dried. Came today for just a wash. Drove up to the machine, which doesn't take cards. Of course. Tried to back out so as not to block the driveway to the car wash, but it's one giant curve with curbs everywhere. Had to walk to the store, which was unattended, although there was an older man in a shell shirt and hat sitting on the grass. Not sure if he's a big fan or an employee. After about five minutes a kid comes in and rings me up. Car washed and is cleaner, but not clean or dry. There's still bird poop on the cAr. The shell in moorpark is much better. read more

I really do not like to write these types of reviews, but this car wash is pretty bad. Not only is there a long wait, but there isn't much soap involved in the actual wash. Then, after the wash, the blower/dryer isn't height powered enough to dry my car (which is a small car, so I highly advise you not to take an SUV). When I complained to the person working that night, he acted as if it was acceptable for me to leave a car wash with my car drenched. He then proceeds to wipe my car with harsh hand-drying paper from the restroom. I told him to please do not do that; I'd rather handle it myself. I've been late to work a few times because I have struck up conversations when I went inside to pay. Shell makes good gas, and they have a good deal on energy drinks too. For the premium car was I literally paid to wash my own car, I had to borrow a rag afterwards and dry it since the drier only went off for about 4 seconds. I figured it was fine since at least I could get discounted gas but nope, I could only get that if I had prepurchased the gas and car wash together before I got the car washed (which was not advertised). Would rather have given zero stars! Worst service ever - all because of one employee that seems to always be working the early morning shift. Never had a problem with any other employee but this one woman is so wrapped up in her phone she can't be bothered to pay attention to a customer standing there with money in their hand. When she does pay attention she is surly and rude and acts as if you are interrupting her. Put the phone down and do your job. This morning I am not sure if she didn't realize I was standing right in front of her or if she was ignoring me in favor of her email.
