Talking, music, steps, tv. We could hear everything. The front desk agent very kindly moved us to a room on the top floor before he left for the night. It was a LOT better to not have noise from above, but we could still hear everything in the room next to us. It's centrally located, which is nice. Staff was accommodating. The lobby and exterior of the buildings are so cute. But for $200/night, which is what I paid for a weekend, I'd probably opt to stay somewhere with thicker walls.

We were lucky enough to have Jed as our guide for the day. Pick up was on time and we went rolling on. He was easy going even when we decided to cut the tour one winery short and grab coffee instead. The Fireside Inn is immaculately clean. Housekeeping if your request it are very conscientious in their duties. The rooms are all freshly redecorated, comfy beds. My only issue is there was no safety bars of any type in the shower. Not to be ADA compliant, but just for safety. That was a big negative since a lot of people who enjoy the facilities who are seniors. That would be enough of a reason do not return. The pool was great, but a bit to chilly this time of year, although well heated. Isiah who checked us in, and Michael who basically takes care of the property made are stay most comfortable. There is a refrigerator in the room but it hidden in furniture so look for it. The Inn also offers a very nice continental breakfast offered in a very nice gathering room near the pool area. They had a nice array of choices. For whatever reason their is no luggage cart. It would be nice if they had one, however Michael took our luggage to the room. I reviewed half of the Yelp reviews now again and there are a large amount of reviewers mentioning the safety concerns of the bathtub not having a safety bar and the ventilation fan is weak, and now I am realizing it is all true. I noticed the tub was slippery when I try to shower first and came back out to put the small nonslip bath mat that was provided under the sink. I have to make sure I only step within the non slip mat and get in and out of the tub slowly to prevent falling and I am young and able! I should have warned my partner when he goes into the shower, because his outcome was a disaster. From how he described the incident, he came out of the shower stepping off the nonslip mat and slipped and fell hitting the edge of the toilet. The bathroom vents are loud and you can hearing it running but I don't think it seems to work because the mirror was still steamy. The bathtub wall and tub of course stays wet longer as well I assumed. I just want to write this review for the future travelers to be careful, and I do hope the hotel management will consider installing safety bars after reading the reviews. I did read reviews before picking this hotel and saw the tub and vent reviews, but at the time I would never think this could happen to us. I have yet to think how to request an incident report with hotel staff yet as I am still waiting in the hospital for my partner to get stitches on his head. We checked in the hotel around 8pm and the incident happened around 10:30pm, so we don't have much time in the room to write about other amenities of the hotel. One thing stood out to us is when checking in the front desk mentioned twice she did not get to take her break time. I hope management read this to give the front desk an extra hand for breaks!

This State Park has a day-use area and two campgrounds: Washburn Day Use Area, San Simeon Creek Campground and the more primitive Washburn Campground. San Simeon Creek Campground is closer to the ocean; Washburn Campground is about a mile or two inland, overlooking the Santa Lucia mountains. The day-use area is open from 8AM to sunset, and is easily accessed from Highway 1, has picnic sites, parking, restrooms, water faucets, barbecue grills, and easy beach access (unless you are a dog...) One star down from an excellent rating for two reasons: The beach, sadly, is NDA (no dogs allowed), and the day use picnic tables are located next to the highway.

We appreciate that Edith is covid-conscious - she wore a mask at all times in the car (we did too, by choice). For this trip, we pre-selected 4 wineries and made our own reservations. However, when one winery didn't work out despite our reservation (overbooked), Edith got us into a fabulous winery at the last minute at 4pm on a busy Friday afternoon. We spent a lot of time talking with the winemakers and it ended up as one of our favorites. Next time, we'll have Edith make reservations for us so we can benefit from her expertise and connections.

Driver got to us at 930am and our first spot reservations was at 10am. So, of course we were late to our first stop to Rava winery. When we first met our driver Rick he seemed annoyed and not very welcoming or friendly. The bus only has 2 bottles of champagne for 12 people which not everyone could have. I just wish I knew they were only providing to 2 bottles. They did provide small water bottles and cups. The bus was clean and very nice. We did enjoy ourselves but we were only able to do 3 stops and half my group needed to get an uber back to their hotel after the third stop because we were running out of time which I was really upset about. I messaged the company to speak to a manager about our experience but I never got a call back or a response.
