Terrible service. I brought in my shirt a month ago and have been coming in weekly to get it, and they kept pushing it back. Finally today I went in and they had told me they ruined it. They offered me partial compensation for the shirt that is now sold out and was only worn once. With no real reasoning or explanation either, just "it was ruined, it has a big hole in it now" I said "how bad is it?" she said "it cannot be worn." I asked for the full price of the shirt as compensation and the woman ignored me, I guess hoping I would leave. I am going back on Wednesday to speak to them again. Horrible horrible experience. My first time going, I dropped off my favorite blazer to be dry cleaned. They definitely threw it in the wash or worse because the sleeves came back shredded. Instead of honestly addressing the issue, they did a poor tape job to patch it from the inside out and still charged me. When I went back to explain I've had this jacket dry cleaned a handful of times at other cleaners and never had this issue, they just told me it was fragile material. Set up my pickup at 8am. They didn't show up, so I called them at 9am and was told that they will be there ASAP. Called them again at 11am because they still didn't show up, and was told that I didn't leave the clothes downstairs, which was something they never instructed me to do. During this whole time, I never received any communications from them. The person handling the phone call sounded confrontational and didn't seem to know what they were doing. The fit was perfect and everything was very affordable for this area. We have had some disasters with other tailors and we could tell right away she was in great hands. Using this service while my building is renovating our laundry room. Have taken in 4 loads so far. For the first load, I asked for bleach. The clothes came back not smelling of bleach, and stains in 2 towels were still there. Did they even use soap? For the fourth load, it came back missing a very expensive black top which I needed same day for a meeting. I immediately went to them and reported it. They say they farm the laundry out to a third party and have no control over what happens. Basically, good luck! For this, they charged $14???? They were very argumentative and defensive. My doormen say the tenants report that they are always missing clothes from Cambridge Cleaners. read more

Wash and fold is done quickly and comes back nicely folded; however, it never comes back smelling fresh, even after countless times of asking for fabric softener. Stains are rarely lifted, whites come back looking dull (even when separated). After a year and a half of using their wash and fold services our towels have started to smell mildewy, after every wash the smell gets stronger and stronger, as do our socks. I feel more confident after every wash that our clothes gets dipped in water, dried and returned. We've tried the other cleaners on the block and they're extremely comparable. I came here feeling somewhat hopeless after being told that my 2-piece / b&w pencil skirt might not be able to get drycleaned bc the black might dye onto the white (see my review for One Highpoint Drycleaners). This place was the second closest dryclean to my apartment. I walked in and explained my fear to the shop owner and he immediately assured me that yes, they could do it and no, no parts would end up a different color. He took over my skirt and wrote down my name and gave me a receipt, all within 2 minutes of me walking through the door! I suddenly was reminded of the stereotype George Clooney's character portrayed in Up in the Air, where they followed the Asian guy in the airport to go through security bc Asians are always the most efficient at packing light. Can't tell you how much safer I felt with my skirt in their hands! Definitely will be coming here to drop off my future drycleans! PS the price to get a skirt drycleaned was $6.75 read more

best cleaner I've found near my place so far. Friendly service, professional staff, reasonable prices, and excellent quality for what they do. Sweaters are $4.50 per piece for dry cleaning, which is pretty cheap in the area and my sweaters always come back softer than before they were cleaned! I took 2 pairs of pants for hemming last weekend, and it came back in 2 days even though they said it'll take 3! They also deliver to nearby addresses for free. read more

Dropped off a pair of pants that needed to be dry cleaned ASAP for a wedding the next day. The other dry cleaners closest to me sends their stuff out and said it wouldn't be possible for me to get them back until 5 pm the next day (too late). I've had bad experiences with a few others in the area, and since switching to Cambridge my dry cleaning worries are washed away. They know their customers by name and when I asked for a few of my things to be done by afternoon of the following day, I was actually able to come back the same day by 5PM. Some reviewers said they were told to pick up for same day, but I had free delivery at 7:00 PM - ish. Maybe pickup is for 5:00 pm. 3) Quality cleaning. Better job than most. 4) Tailoring: only had jeans hemmed so can't say anything about complicated work. Jeans were fine. I brought in a filthy down coat that I'd delayed cleaning because I couldn't be without it for a single day this winter. Well, I needed it for a trip on which I could not look like a gutter rat, and brought it in a day before departing. Normally this coat would take 48 hours--truly filthy, and fur trim--but understanding my situation, they got to work on it right away and I had it back that night! The first time I went, I brought in a heap of stuff for dry cleaning, maybe 8 or 10 sweaters and a cpl pants, plus the hemming job. Same day no problem. Also got out some deoderant/sweat stains that didn't come out elsewhere. Actually, when I asked the gentleman if he thought the stains would come out, he looked at me like I was bonkers (in a kind way) for asking, "yes . . .? of course." DO NOT GO TO THIS CLEANERS. They don't care about your clothes or your satisfaction. They ruined my shirt from Saks. It cost $250.41. My husband and I use same day laundry and dry cleaning. My one shirt didn't come back so I called to get it from them. They said they forgot to send and will send next day. I got it back and saw that it was ruined. Spoke to a man on the phone. (I think the husband). And he said the owner (wife) will call me back. She never called. So I called her. She told me she'd call me back. For what??? Just tell me what the situation is!!! She said she'd replace the shirt. OK fine. I send the shirt back with receipt. More than 2 and a half weeks later no word. I call again and she said she didn't have time. MAKE TIME! I am a working professional and I have time to shop on my iphone or call saks and get it messengered. Buy it on the phone and get the delivery guy to pick it up!! No. I said fine. It's Thursday, get it by Monday. OK. So once again no shirt. I gave until today, Wednesday. And got into a screaming match. If they only apologized and communicated I would be more patient. I even asked for phone calls and honesty so we could continue a relationship. I even speak Korean so communication should not be an issue as they are Korean as well. I used to drop off my coat in Cambridge cleaners once because they are close to my office and thought they were doing a ok job then. But recently I had a very bad experience with the pant I dropped off there. I found the fabric in the inner side of the pant and the seam running through it were broken. The owner (the lady) claimed that it's not their responsibility with a very bad attitude. I paid full for this bad service and left. I don't think I will ever go there again. The Star Dry Cleaner on the other side of the street is doing much better. read more

This is the best dry cleaner in Murray Hill and I would even say the best I've been to in Manhattan. I've been coming to Cambridge Cleaners the last 6 months and every time I'm very happy with the result. My clothes come back very clean and looking great. The first time I came here I brought in a white dress with a stain that another dry cleaner could not remove. Although the stain would not come out initially, Cambridge cleaners kept trying different things until they finally removed the stain! I was very impressed by this and have been coming here since. They also do an amazing job with tailoring. I've brought in many pieces that were badly ripped and they have made them look as good as new. Both the dry cleaning and tailoring is done at very reasonable prices. The people who work here are extremely nice and friendly. Although this dry cleaners is a 10 minute walk from my apartment I will keep coming here because the service is as good as it gets! read more
