Today was the culmination of a GREAT Experience with Cambridge Exteriors, LLC from Medford, NJ. Their salesman, Adam, was one of many who we had provide estimates and he was extremely professional and provided us with the most comprehensive quotes of any of the companies we met with! Their pricing was very fair and competitive! They offered the GAF roofing system that provided what we needed without over selling the job. I had the pleasure today working with their foreman, James, and a fantastic subcontracted crew that tackled what initially started out rather straight forward but the original plywood substrate from the 1970's was in really bad shape - they replaced all of the needed plywood without issue and gave us a fantastic finished product and they left the house and grounds better than they found it! I'm completely satisfied and would highly recommend them for a roof replacement! Adam then followed up with meeting their gutter crew the following week and because I was not able to meet them, he FaceTimed with me so that I was able go over the scope of the project with their crew foreman and get my questions answered before work started! I was able to get down on the weekend to check out the completed project / they did a Fantastic Job with the installation. They were able to hide the mounting screws for the downspout straps and even filled the holes in the siding where the old straps were attached with color matched pop-rivets. They also did a much better job with the downspouts where they entered the drain pipes! This attention to detail made the whole project look Fantastic! Thanks for having such professional installation crews working with your company! We are totally satisfied with both the new roof and the new gutter / gutter guard installation! I've done business with this company in the past and had no issue. I called them back out to fix a leak in my roof and installed my bay window. For they got 5 stars, 2021 jobs. Lauren was the person that sealed our deal. She's gone. Fast forward to 2025, the siding. No Lauren and the dynamic is clearly different. I use reviews heavily to make my contractor decisions and the fact that we've already done business with this company, made them a contender for our siding job. The were $5k higher than our lowest estimate. As homeowners we don't have all the answers but should not be made to feel like we're causing the contractor strife, or questioning their professionalism, or pulling them from their customer base to do your insignificant job because they're in "High Demand", when YOUR trying to figure out the work and services that will be included or excluded for YOUR work. We are handy and can do a few things to save ourselves money for the next project. (AND PLEASE NOTE THAT WE SHOP AT UNIVERSAL SUPPLY TOO! SHALLOW TO ASSUME THAT WE'RE LIMITED TO LOWES AND HOME DEPOT.) We were trying to make money decisions about our home and wallet. No one asked for favors...just a fair price and professional opinions. Its called due diligence. In this instance, we were considering about 4 estimates...ALL around same the price to make sure we'd be able to release that check with a smile. THIS SIDING TRANSACTION. It took us a few weeks to talk between all the contractors asking each one various questions and going back to ask additional questions. If we learned something from one that wasn't discussed with another, we asked. ALL got the same line of questions and there were many, so that we could be $25K- $30K. Ridiculous! ...with this transaction once we made our final decision and signed, I noticed that the contract wasn't signed by Cambridge. On the same day, I questioned it and was told that they just use the time stamp at the top. Last transaction, Cambridge signed, but I let it go. That was my first flag. I know better. HOMEOWNER's please know that a contract is not a contract without all signatures. Try taking a contract to a judge with one signature!?. Second...I noticed that after 2-3 weeks my deposit check had not been cashed?! Second red flag... so now...no contract and no money. In the real estate world, NO MONEY, NO CONTRACT SIGNED BY ALL PARTIES means we're NOT under contract? Hmm... I asked why my deposit hadn't been deposited and the truth came out. You didn't want to work with us, then tried to spin it like we had the reservations and weren't comfortable. Let's process this! I signed the contract Cambridge didn't. I gave the deposit check and Cambridge, Marc, literally decided not to cash it. Not much more we could do on our end. The decision to not NOT deposit the check was because of a "Feeling" and now I'm guessing no signature on the contract was for the same "Feeling". I've been me a long long time so I can only believe that ....Strong lady Melanin with questions, that you don't normally get, made you uncomfortable. Let's call a spade, a spade. Makes sense now. I've seen "you" before. Guess people just trust with no questions. Thats mostly because they don't know what to ask. HOMEOWNERS...ask your questions and trust your gut. It normally tells the truth. We wish you would have been honest and expressed your reservations instead of not executing on what we thought was a deal and trying to spin it like your uncomfortably has anything to do with us. That's all you. We gave you a check to start an expensive job. We were as comfortable as we were going to get. I started to post the entire text thread...but decided not. Do better and recognize that its your business. You can say that you don't think your the right match for a prospective customer. Much easier to be honest up front, then to have this on the back end and waste people's time because of your displaced BIAS. read more

I hired Cambridge exteriors o redo a roof that was apparently done incorrectly.. These guys returned calls almost immediately and scheduled my job in a reasonable amount.. Norm was our contact that kept us informed of job and progress.. job was done well, and they cleaned up and it was like they weren't even there! Hats off to them!! These guys did my roof recently and knocked it out of the park. All the things you'd expect from a good contractor. Just had our first big rain storm and no issues. Workers were polite and respectful to my wife, careful and safe, and cleaned up. Price was good and sales was no pressure. You can tell more about a company when an accident happens. In this case, one of my upper floor windows got cracked by a flying shingle. No one saw it happen actually, but a piece of the shingle was jammed into the base of the window where the crack was so there was little doubt what happened. Cambridge tried to get a replacement pane from the company that installed the windows, but they were rude and wouldn't give any information to them (or us). So Cambridge is replacing the whole window. It's hard to find good contractors these days. These guys are the real deal. read more

Dishonest and Crappy Work I feel like I got so ripped off! The roofing estimate I got from this company was thousands more than others but I was convinced by owner Marc Somer's high pressure sales pitch that I was going to get such superior quality with his products and workmanship that it was well worth the money. It was such a lie. I posted pictures of his finished work on FB and I had friends ask if my 5 year old installed my roof. It was that bad. When I said I wasn't happy Marc was totally unprofessional. He said, "the roof wasn't bad." He repeatedly told me I was being too picky. That his team must have been rushed at the end of the day. Or that it wasn't the roofs fault, it was my siding's fault. Really!!?? I told him upfront that I have a DIY blog and I am very particular AND that I have a big mouth and would tell everyone I know if I am not satisfied with the job. He laughed and said that would never be an issue with him. But the work was terrible. You don't have to be particular at all to see how bad his work was. Big globs of silicone instead of flashing, uneven roof tiles, exposed nail lines, and that was just what I could see without a ladder. He has great reviews on Angie's list, and A+ with the BBB, and is a master elite certified with GAF. How??? It must be all friends and family leaving bogus reviews. I've also heard form other roofers that he's changed the name of his company a few times. Hmm. His work stinks and he doesn't even care. He offered me no compensation and was very resistant about "fixing" his mistakes. Thanks goodness I didn't pay him upfront. There is nothing good about this company, excerpt the sales pitch. Project manager James was here just long enough to tell me I should move my flower pots if I thought they'd get broken, then he left a crew of non-English speakers here all day with no one supervising. That was a few days ago and my one-day job is still not finished. Marc thought I wouldn't notice he failed to install a gutter, which was part of his estimate. He said they re-pitched the existing one instead (which I think was a total lie) and to let him know if that worked. Are you kidding me? No you're going to replace it like we agreed upon. The crew also left a complete mess! They removed two skylights from my screened porch and never cleaned any of the nails, shingles or other debris that was ALL OVER my couch, table, rug, everything. There are black drips of something on my siding and stamped concrete. They butchered my pergola by making the ugliest cut ever through the wood. Plus they never asked if they could cut anything. It looks terrible. I just noticed that they broke a 20 year old hydrangea plant in half and tied it back together and never said anything about it. That shows you how unprofessional this company is. Mistakes happen, own up to them. Ray Andress did some exterior work on the dryer vent and although he was very nice, his work was totally incompetent. The caulk was a disaster and he dislodged the dryer vent and I didn't realize until I ran several loads of laundry. I am so mad I wasted my money when I should have gone with one of the cheaper estimates. Don't make the same mistake I did! read more

Cambridge Exteriors did our siding and two bay windows back in November of 2012. My husband died suddenly in April 2015, he was a contractor. I noticed that the wood underneath the bay windows was wet. Called Cambridge in November of 2019. They came out and said it was not their fault but would fix for $250 a window. I agreed. Called at least 20x to get them to come out, they never came out. Finally had a handyman do it for a cheaper price and he discovered that the holes in the caps on the vinyl siding were never punched out, so that was why the water was rotting the wood underneath the windows. It was Cambridge's fault and glad I caught it, otherwise, because of their lack of attention to detail, could have cost a great deal more. Supposed experts. Would not recommend. They are great until you have a problem and don't check their materials before installation. read more

What a sucky company!!! I had two appointments with the Owner of the company to discuss a project at my home. The appointments were blown off twice, both times with no telephone call to say that he was unable to show up. Is that truly the kind of company you want to do business with? The owner only lives two blocks away, they are doing a huge job at the house next door and the owner himself just never showed up for appointments he made. read more

Cambridge Exteriors replaced all of the windows in my condo. I could not be happier with my results! From my very first meeting with Lauren, I knew I wanted to hire this company. She prepared all of the paperwork for my association within 24 hours of me signing the contract making the approval effortless. Due to COVID-19, I had to wait several weeks for the installation but that was certainly not their fault and my new windows were well worth the wait! The crew that installed the windows were efficient and very careful to protect my furniture which was much appreciated. The owner of the company called the next day to ensure that I was satisfied with the job (I was). I mentioned that there were some smudges on the exterior of the windows that I couldn't reach. The very next day, James spent well over an hour removing some stubborn adhesive and would not leave until HE felt he did the best job possible. Worst contractor ever. Had roof, gutters and kitchen window replaced a few years back. The roof and window are leaking and I have a waterfall in front of my front door whenever there is a heavy rain. The guys who did my roof did not speak English. They did not have a bin to dispose of the debris until the end of the 2nd day - I had to start clearing a path out of my front door so I could get my dog out. They also lied about having gotten the permit - they did not get one until AFTER I called the township to check. I need to have everything fixed or re-done. read more

The worst customer service and lack of follow up ever. Saw Marc Somers in person on Saturday and was supposed to stop by my house tonight. Of course he was a no call, no show. They did our roof in 2009. Back then it was all good of course because he was about to make major money. Well, his guys were sloppy, left soda cups behind, cigarette butts, nails and debris everywhere. We have since then had 5 or 6 different leaks in our family room. Each time I called, it took MULTIPLE phone calls and complaints. The woman who takes the calls is no better. I am going to call GAF roofing and complain about their contractor. I will never recommend them to anyone again. read more

After reading every review I could find, I had four different companies come out and survey my home. I needed a new roof, new siding, gutters, and some windows and doors replaced. Cambridge seemed the most knowledgeable and I felt like they would do the best job. They wanted to do everything right, whereas other contractors wanted to cover up old siding/roof or wanted to use lower end materials. They also had the best warranty of any of the companies. I didn't feel like I was being pressured into anything during the entire process - which was a huge plus. Their price was in line with my other quotes, but they were using much better materials. I work in a trade industry and I know the pitfalls of going with the wrong company. I'm really glad I chose Cambridge. Essentially I wanted one contractor that could do everything and that's exactly what I got. Everything came out nicer than I expected. During the work if any little issue came up, Cambridge was right on top of it. They had no problems accommodating small changes during the project and had a lot of great recommendations for me. The owner, sales manager, and project manager were great to deal with and one of them always got right back to me anytime I had any questions. They also accommodated my schedule and gave me exact days and times they would be out during the project. My house looks great now that it's all done! I've even had people from the neighborhood I've never met walk down the street and tell me how great it looks. I'm extremely happy with the work and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to friends and family. Thanks for a great job guys! read more
