In September found out needed cataract surgery, in November my 1st consultation with Dr. Seif I felt very comfortable with this knowledgeable Dr. When dealing with your eyes not much is more precious. The one thing I appreciated is the cost much much less than I anticipated and yes I upgraded my lens. My appointment was set on January 24 at J.B. Hospital the ophthalmology wing is breathtaking. Dr Seif meets and greets you pre op and post op this surgery procedure takes 15 minutes. The results are astonishing my vision is sharp as the colours astounding. After both procedures post op visits to Dr Seif office truly a beautiful building with thorough post op examinations. My 2nd eye procedure was done Feb. 05 much quicker a lot less anxious a total success this I credit to Dr Seif a wonderful caring outstanding ophthalmologist /surgeon look no further he is the one. I consider myself blessed to be referred to Dr. SEIF.

Told "everything fine, you have nothing to worry about". NOT FINE. Needed retinal surgery, thankfully found a doctor in Toronto. Delay meant I could have had a better outcome. The other ophthalmologist --who of course did same tests and exams--was able to diagnose looking at just a low-res black and white scan of a fax of my test from Prism that I showed him. In other words, either Prism doctor didn't look at scans, didn't care, wasn't competent or willing to refer to someone who is--or for some reason decided I didn't deserve my vision. It's taken me a long time to come back and write a review as I was severely traumatized. This was Dr. Michelle Khan at Prism who treated me this way. I am still shocked that this happened. I did get surgery in Toronto and surely wish I had just gone there first. But it's not easy to get an appointment with an ophthalmologist. I was even warned by my optometrist, who was fighting this battle alongside me, that I might not even be allowed to get a second opinion. To which I replied, "I went to Prism. I didn't get a first opinion!" Prism might be good for routine issues, cataract surgery, for-profit procedures, I don't know. However I found it to be a black hole of despair in regards to my retinal problem. If you have an eye emergency in Halton-Peel, the hospitals do not have ophthalmologists on staff, so they refer you to Prism. I wish there was a better way, for all the patients in the future.

She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. Lucky if you find a seat. Honestly, I never been treated like this in all my life. I heard a lot of patients complaining especially seniors. After all this hassle, my eye problem was never resolved.

Small differences can happen, but 20 degrees is unacceptable for a place that claims to be professional. Even then, I wasn't angry. The real nightmare started when I checked my glasses. I bought a handcrafted frame from Japan for more than $800 after tax--fragile, unique, and something I truly cherish. On the day they tried to "fix" their axis mistake, instead of handling it properly, they decided to bend my frame without my consent. Now it's distorted, misshapen, and looks awful. They brushed it off as a "small adjustment." How ridiculous! Who bends a fragile Japanese frame to fix an optical prescription error?! I'm devastated and deeply disappointed by the way they treat their customers. And yes--it was Dr. Rebecca, the same name that appears in many other one-star reviews. Also, after few rounds of communication, the clinic refused to admit their mistake, still saying their intention was good, and the issue was small. The most irresponsible clinic I've ever encountered. A complete joke.

But if you go first thing (7:45 a.m.) you'll be out by 9:00/9:15 a.m. He is personable, very professional and I feel confident that he has thoroughly examined my eyes. Opthalmologists are medical professionals - their scope is much broader and they are medically qualified, as opposed to optometrists. This gentleman is reputable.
