She didn't make the slightest attempt to make it a comfortable or enjoyable experience for her. She did not take the time to explain to my daughter was she was doing which made my daughter feel scared and unsure on how to proceed with each request. Furthermore, when I attempted to offer my daughter some consolation, Dr. Goyal dis wascouraged me from doing so by saying " She's fine " essentially telling me to let her do her job. When we headed towards our car my daughter was on the brink of tears. I would not recommend that anyone take their kids here and as an adult I wouldn't come back either.

Patricia Fink Optometrist: Putting the "I Don't Care" in Patient Care…read more I have been going, both myself and with my children, to this optometrist clinic for 20+ years. Unfortunately I regret to say that it has changed so significantly for the worse, that I would advise anyone looking for an optometrist to make a choice of OTHER than Patricia Fink. Over the years the good staff have been quietly leaving, and the current staff are - in a word - very poor. I can summarise this with one recent story. Due to COVID lockdowns and the optometrist action, I had been unable to make an appointment to have my eyes checked for several years. As a result, I was quite happy to finally secure an appointment. I was on my way, having been slightly delayed by accident/traffic jam on the highway, when the clinic called me to ask if I would be arriving in the next 10 minutes. I explained the delay and confirmed that I would. The clinic then called me back a minute later, when I was within a few minutes of the clinic and said they were CANCELLING my appointment. When I expressed my concern about this complete last minute cancellation, requiring me to turn around, the staff member on the phone began to argue with me. Given this complete lack of professionalism, I asked for her name. She refused to give it to me. I asked if I could speak to the office manager: in response, she hung up on me. I was not raising my voice, and not cursing. It was clear she thought I was a complete inconvenience to her day. I left a voice mail for the office manager expressing my concern with the rude arrogance of the staff: I did not receive a return call, which I can only assume means that the clinic believes that this was acceptable behaviour... for a loyal patient of 20+ years. Needless to say, I switched optometrists the very same day. I will end simply by saying that this is an optometrist practice which is slowly bleeding out, simply because it doesn't care. If you are looking for an optometrist who remembers that their primary concern is PATIENT CARE, and not selling over-priced eye-wear, then this optometrist is not for you.

Dr. Hong quickly determined it was a retinal tear and started the process of getting me into St. Michael's for treatment. Everything about this process was professional; the very clear explanation Dr. Hong gave me about what was wrong and the possible repercussions, her insistence that I stay in her office until she got me an appointment, her steady and assertive advocating with St. Mike's to get me in for a same day appointment and her gracious offer to answer any questions after my hospital treatment. A few hours later, I was getting laser treatments at St. Mike's.

For the last 3 exams = 6 years I've had pretty much the same prescription. Everything about this place was professional. To the ladies at the front desk to the doctor. The older lady who helped me do my initial check was super cute. You could tell she loved her job. Of the few doctors there I ended up getting Dr. Laverty. Right away she could see how dry my eyes were. I was prescribed some drops and they have helped a lot. I have since seen her again for a follow up and I am still very satisfied with the service.
