I got my computer repaired at Micro Center. They fixed the computer without losing data on my hard drive and did a backup on another external drive. Everything went smoothly. Also, they texted when parts arrived and how much of the repair was done.

It was clear the $160 8th gen they had in stock would meet my need and then some. The associate I spoke with tried to first sell me a 2025 iPad ($450). When I pressed it wasn't needed, the 8th gen would work fine, he pushed back that I really needed a 9th gen for $250. I insisted again that the 8th gen was more than I need, he was frustrated but generated the ticket. I ended up walking out without buying the device. I bought an 8th gen, $50 cheaper, elsewhere. If I didn't know what I needed, if I didn't feel comfortable pushing back on an aggresive salesperson, I would have walked out $300 poorer and with more device than I needed. While browsing, I witnessed someone buying a laptop but before they would give them the slip they "had to introduce them" to their sales manager who came over to try and push a different, more expensive system. I used to love the place but now it feels like a sleezy car dealership. I most likely won't be back unless there's a very specific, undeniable need to go there.

Coming to a Best Buy to try to buy a computer in 2026. That was my first mistake. Went to the…read morecomputer section, saw the computer (Microsoft surface laptop) advertised at $899. Asked to purchase that computer at that price. Was told "not in stock" so I asked to order it for shipping or pick up. I was told "can't do that" they don't make that computer any more??? But it's on display, with a big sales tag, on your shelves. I asked for a comp product at the sale price - they looked for 45 minutes had me waiting and waiting - MOD Mike came and offered me $50 off a $1200 15 inch laptop (trying to upsell me? Idk) but since when did their staff start haggling prices? Sounded fishy and I asked to speak to their manager - Cliff - and wow, I was met with a stiff rude attitude from the start of the interaction, despite my attempts to be courteous and kind. From the beginning he said " that whole area is Microsoft, it has nothing to do with us at Best Buy" as if he was taking zero responsibility for any of the products or prices I asked for a rain check for the sale price and he said "nah we don't do it" I asked for a comp product at the same price, he was not offering any type of situation. He wanted to keep me there for more and more time, after 60 minutes - clearly Cliff wasn't offering any help to me - nor any understanding or empathy - so I left empty handed. Going to buy from the Microsoft store directly. Best Buy - ugh this place should have gone out of business when blockbuster did.

About 5 employees all congregating by the entrance, laughing and joking with each other. If you have a question, forget it. A guy wearing a Best Buy shirt and locking a display case told me "I don't work here" when I asked him for assistance. WOW. As a consumer, I really try to support brick-and-mortar stores, but when I experience abysmal service like this, I could not care less if these stores close and "employees" lose their jobs. I was ready to buy ~$200 worth of product, had I just walked right out of the store. I'll take my dollars elsewhere.

He was a bit tricky to track down, but once we connected, Joel St. Jean (their service manager and the gent who ultimately repaired out TV) was a real pleasure to work with. He not only correctly diagnosed the source and nature of our problem, but found and fixed 2 others we didn't know were there. He patiently explained what he was doing at all times, and exhibited a degree of patience and thoroughness rarely seen these days.= The prevailing attitude is that TVs and the like are disposable, but this isn't always the case. If your TV goes on the fritz and replacing it means hundreds of dollars you don't have, give these guys a shot, we're very glad we did.

Two months ago, I was told that they needed a part, and had ordered it. Today, I was told that he "had been away for two weeks and lost track of the things" he had been working on, and he'll call me back tomorrow. What is worth .25 stars I guess is that they did give us a loaner receiver, about a month into this process, so at least we can listen to CDs and the radio (FM only, b/c my AM antenna isn't compatible with the loaner) and watch DVDs. I like to patronize local businesses, but only when they like the patronage. In this case, their indifference is staggering.

The Geek Squad desk was very helpful with a computer repair that need to take place rapidly. The technician Dylan was very knowledgeable and very organized. He was virtually helping three clients at the same time - multitasking like a FAA airport control in he middle of a crisis. Jesus was also super helpful and patient as he helped me identified a decent computer deal for my son. We had to buy a replacement. Value is on the expense side, despite the Total package. Best Buy has started to charge a fee for $100 even when it is the computer that has some serious keyboard defects. So that was less cool. Be aware- The roundabout to get to the Best Buy is a nightmare of traffic. It took me 45 minutes to get out of the roundabout. Overall, smaller size store with professional and dedicated staff.

Multiple things worked prior to it being set up, and after it was wired up, they weren't working well. My driver side air vent was completely blocked and the wiring looked like vomit. Extremely disappointed. Nothing was appropriately wired up and "clean"... Everything was everywhere. Can you believe that the person that installed it for me at Best buy put everything in the driver side air vent so no air could go out? Then I went back the following week for things to get cleaned up, and nothing got fixed after I mentioned that it wasn't working. I'm all done with the $200 a year membership, it's not worth it I would rather go to a professional. I feel bad for the guy working there.

It's also walking distance (like 3 min walk) to Fenway Park! This is a 2 floor 160,000 sq ft Target, so it's bigger than the standard Target (~120,000 sq ft) & is definitely one of the larger urban Targets I've seen. You've got your essentials like bathroom necessities, skincare, women's clothing, home goods, Starbucks, eyewear, CVS pharmacy, etc on the first floor. On the second floor is where you can find more men's clothing, kids' clothing + toys, holiday decor + candy, alcohol/nonalcoholic beverages, & more. One cool thing that I love about this location is they have cart escalators! Similar to what you see at IKEAs, so great for back-to-school shopping or if you're buying big items!

I have some novel ideas you should implement immediately into your store employee's customer engagement protocols and policies! I also recommend you forward my suggestions to your CEO Mr. Brian Cornell! Your late founder Mr. George Draper Dayton must be doing "gymnastics" in his grave in the Minneapolis' Lakewood Cemetery, to see what has become of his company in 2026!! The reason I was so angry the evening I was shopping in your store was because, I have equity in your company! I am an active shareholder of Target corporation (TGT)! I own shares of your company in my investment portfolio! I came very close to sweeping my account at Fidelity Investments and liquidating my stake in Target! I pray the CBS TV show "Uncover Boss" sends an executive from your home office , to go uncover and see all the lazy, arrogant "driftwood" employees, that are destroying your brand and reputation! I would also like to say, the evening I was attempting to purchase only 2 items, your lazy African American employee had zero electronic guests/ customers at his register!! This is the second time he has done this to me! He made me wait 25 minutes, still no electronic guests/customers were attempting to make electronic purchases approached his register, while he wasted 25 minutes of my time! Apparently, he needs additional training and to be enrolled in some type of e-lesson regarding the fundamentals of customer service, work ethics and how your main retail protagonist Amazon.com is eager to take my money and business permanently away from your 1,989 brick and mortar stores!
