Updating my review based on my last experience. Wasn't greeted at all when I came in, waited a long time . It's fine, it was a Sunday and I didnt have an appointment. When I sat down, my nail tech used an old file and grabbed her tools from a tray on her work station. I didn't know if they had been disinfected. My nails came out good but I'm just hoping not to get a fungal Infection. Also couldn't help but notice the nail tech next to mine was super rude to her client. The client asked for thinner acrylics and was told no, even though she said the last time she came in, the nails were way thinner. With another client, the same rude nail tech straight up told the client no to her request for a design. She didn't even offer to find someone else who can do the design or anything. read more

I continuously get asked where do I get my nails done and who does them! For my pedicure I see Jackie. She is fun, professional and also does an amazing job. I seldom write reviews but they left a bad taste in my mouth. I came here quite a bit since I live close and they usually do a decent job. However, when you go to check out, you'll realize they've added charges for things without telling you. I didn't realize they had been doing this until my last visit (I thought it was just really overpriced). I finally asked why it was so expensive for a dip manicure since I've had the same shape nails for over a year and do not get designs, and come to find out I was being charged extra $$ to "fix my shape" without telling me this was happening. You'd think being a regular costumer here they would refrain from tacking on extra charges... or at least give me a heads up while they're doing my nails- NOPE. At my final time here, they also rushed through my manicure as fast as possible. I had even told my roommate to go here and 3 of her nails broke within a week. Seems they're doing downhill. Let me start by saying, I am never one to write reviews. I made a Yelp just to leave this review after I had a bad experience. I just moved to the Phoenix area and decided to try Kenzie's Nails and Spa. I have a friend who recommended this place and her nails always look amazing, so I thought I'd give it a try. I booked an appointment for the SNS Dip Manicure. When I got to the salon, I was taken right away and the salon was pretty empty. I was rushed to pick a color, which was annoying to start off with, considering no one was waiting so I didn't understand the rush. I picked a color quickly and the nail tech began. The nail tech did not cut my cuticles, did not soak my nails, did not file or cut them. She INSTANTLY starting dipping my fingers directly into the dip. I basically could not even get situated before she began the process. This was supposed to be a treat, not an unwanted task, and I did not get to enjoy 1 second of it. The entire process was 15 MINUTES. HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET YOUR NAILS DONE IN 15 MINUTES?! Again, no one was there, so wtf was the rush for. After she finished the process, that is when she started filing and cutting my cuticles. Like what?! My cuticles were not soft so she was RIPPING my cuticles to pieces. It has now been 3 days (I had an appointment on Sunday) since I received my manicure and 3 fingers are already chipped from the dip powder. I paid $43 for a manicure to last 3 days? Are we kidding. I was initially happy with my pedicure here (even though it was $91 which is insane... $59 for the deluxe pedi, $18 plus gel, then charged $14 to have a small amount of acrylic on my big toes, which is really weird to me and weirdly expensive) but okay, I can get past the cost. The day after my pedicure my big toe started hurting so bad and now it's painful to walk and I'm fairly positive I now have paronychia which is what happens when someone pulls out a hang nail TO THE EXTREME like she dug and dug and dug and ripped it out. I went in skeptical because I have been to about 15 different nail salons in Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Laveen and Avondale. I will travel for great service and great work. I called and got an appointment right away. I went in and I was immediately greeted by friendly staff. Ming came and showed me the gel colors and I picked the ones I wanted. I showed him a Google picture of something I was thinking of and he said he could make the magic happen. I again was a little skeptical cause I haven't really liked my nails in a really long time. Well when he got started he asked where I've been and I told him about all the salons I went to. He said to only come back to him and he would take great care of me. I've been here many times, often pleased with my service, however today put a sour taste in my mouth and I'm certain I won't be back (at least for a while). I made an 11:45 appointment, during my lunch hour, and didn't get seated until closer to noon. Also not only did I have to wait, despite having an appointment, the manager made sarcastic comments about my conversation with one of the nail techs. She had told me it would be "3 minutes" until they sat me for my pedicure, but with the loud background noise and her muffled tone (with a mask) I thought I heard "10 minutes". I tried to clarify with her and while doing so, he says "well it will only be 2 by the time she's done answering your question". Times ticking, I'm still in the chair waiting for a nail tech to start my pedicure, and beginning to get frustrated. I'm a frequent customer and they can see I'm in scrubs but they lack urgency and focus solely on the housewife's there without a time restriction. As the lady begins to do my toes I let her know I ONLY want her to polish my nails and trim my cuticles. She nods as if she understands and then tells me they don't have the color I asked for. Whatever, no big deal. I'm just paying for a gel polish right? Nope- 45$$ later- no massage, no scrub/lotion, no callus remover, hot stones or anything else. Like I said I've been here plenty of times before and will gladly pay the money when it's due. I've sat in those SAME chairs for over an hour while they've massaged my legs for 15 minutes and given amazing service and paid the same price. So why am I paying for it when those services aren't done?? Don't come here unless you have the time to wait and plan on paying a set price no matter what. Very disappointed, especially with the managers sarcastic comments- making you feel unwelcome or less important than those in his chair. Will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I am in the area for work and stopped into Herbal nails up the street and was very disappointed when they started removing my acrylic nails with a nail tip it was so incredibly painful so I walked out and went to Kenzie and there were two very friendly and helpful people working here that helped me remove my acrylic nails gently and also applied dip powder and it came out perfectly!
