Was way too much like a regular season game than a Spring Training game. Dodger dog was cold. Free parking!

This is like a 3.5. This was one of the few stadiums I had not been to since I moved out to AZ. Decided to check out a game between the Cubs and White Sox. Here are the good and bad.............. Good - Cheap tickets. Got tickets on Stubhub to a sold out game for only $20.00 each. Not much more than what they charge regularly for tickets. - Beautiful grounds. There isn't shit out this way except for this complex. It is beautiful though. The walk up to the stadium takes you by a whole bunch of different fields. - Ushers were non existent. My friends had good seats down between home and first, and we went to meet up with them and they told us they had some open seats in the row in front of them. We just walked straight down there and took a seat. Score! - Free parking. Bad - Goes back to my "beautiful grounds" in my "good" section. This place is in the damn sticks! There is literally nothing else out this way besides these baseball fields. - Parking. While free, you have to park far away and hike a good half a mile to the stadium. One way in, and one way out of this stadium. We left a bit early, so it wasn't too bad, but if you were to exit with the massive crowd, you will be hating life trying to get out of here. - Lack of shade. It was overcast when we went, but if it wasn't, it would have been crappy. We stood in the outfield for a few innings and there is no shade in sight besides a few trees which people horde. - No cup holders. Nice seats down the first base line, and no cup holders in sight? You would think they could have added those in at some point, right? This stadium was alright. Definitely not my favorite, but far from the worst Cactus League stadiums. I would come back to check out another game if the price was right. read more

I was excited for Spring Training as my husband bought our family tickets for my surprise birthday present. We were even more excited to have our 18 month old watch his first spring training game. Our day took a fast turn as we entered Camelback Ranch to watch the Chicago White Sox vs Mariners. I attempted to enter through Centerfield gate with my husband and had our baby in the stroller. The lady in security checked our bags like normal. Immediately, the supervisor/manager rushed telling us we can't enter with our baby carrier. We were completely confused as nowhere in the website guidelines is it mentioned baby carriers are prohibited. My husband then had to walk back to the car and we then attempted to go in again. The same lady was also a shocked the supervisor/manager said we couldn't go in with a baby carrier. Since we had the stroller we were told to enter through the bigger gates. As soon as we entered them they told my husband that he had to enter another way to get scanned so he did. Then they told me to turn back and get scanned even through we were in already!! Unbelievable!! It seemed we were targeted as soon as we got to the entrance. We noticed tons of families with strollers and they weren't being haggled with but they had an eye for us in which we felt profiled. We asked a lady for the supervisors name and she said "I think his name is Larry." I'm pretty sure we were profiled because over a 30-min timeframe, I noticed only one other Mexican family get stopped when they had a diaper bag and a clutch bag. I later went to complain at guest services and she even mentioned to me that my carrier should have been allowed and she took my info saying they were going to call me about the incident, which I still haven't received a phone call. read more

A perfect place for the Dodgers to practice and for the fans who just want a meet and greet with out the millions of fans at Dodger Stadium. This place is huge but so many areas to see the players practice and warm up. Bring a lunch sack and walk around while the players practice is an amazing experience especially for younger fans. Lots of grown men bringing in a ton of items to get autographs ruins it for the kids. Kids just want the experience while grown men are interested in making a living off of signatures. I'm happy my son was able to meet many players and got some pictures with them. He will never forget this trip to Glendale Arizona. Well, let's see, got there, and the parking attendant told me to park up front near the media parking, which there were no spots. Finally found a spot only to find that where I was walking was a restricted area and have an usher security guard in my face. Professionally, speaking in words that I've never even used in my life unprofessionally the security guard actually got in my face and egged me on to fight with him course I turned around and walked away, but I never had a guy chase me down so he can continue to yell at me, after I explained that that's where the parking attendant put me. Got to the ticket taker who then proceeded to take my green clear plastic bag and throw it in the trash making a big scene saying it had to be a clear clear plastic bag? Got to my seats where the usher had put some people in my seats. Made a big scene four out of four times in just 20 minutes. I stayed as calm as I could be because I'm a CAB 5 heart patient and disabled but clearly the Dodgers security team needs some work on customer service skills. The Hispanic 50ish guy handling the players media parking needs to be fired, I was one step away from him either hitting me or pushing me and I'm disabled. Totally unprofessional had the worst time of my life ever at a baseball game. read more

Went to watch the Dodgers host the Rockies in a Cactus League game last week. This was my first time to Camelback Ranch and even though I'm not a Dodgers fan, it was a really nice park. The views all around were really good, like all the other ballparks I visited last week. The crowd was lively and the stadium was practically full. Ticket prices were very reasonable for both reserved seats or for the lawn area. There were multiple team stores/kiosks throughout and with a wide variety of styles and apparel. Took some time to walk around between innings and it was a really nice place to catch an evening spring baseball game. It was fairly warm with only a slight breeze, so I didn't really need a jacket. The game was exciting as the Dodgers pulled away late to win 11 - 6 over the Rockies. My disappointment with this ballpark are although parking is free, I walked further to the stadium than the other 3 parks I visited last week. The lack of cup holders albeit gives you a bit more leg room, but is inconvenient and makes for more spills. The seating was a bit confusing and since there aren't any ushers around, several of us were a bit confused as to which sections were which. We ended-up figuring it out, so no harm no foul. read more

Took my husband here for his birthday for Dodgers Spring training. This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. We got amazing seats at an amazing price! We go to Dodger Stadium often and could never afford to sit as close as we did while we were at Camelback Ranch. The atmosphere is very laid back and everyone was very friendly. You are able to watch the teams practice and have a chance to get autographs as well. My tip- wear light colors and bring a hat and sunscreen! It gets hot out there! Overall a great establishment and we can't wait to go back next year. read more

Great Experience!! You can meet players watch the game in a smaller stadium. Prices are like most ball parks. Friendly staff with good customer service. Very nice stadium. One complaint I have and I heard others at the stadium complaining about is the amount of time you stand in line at the concession stands. Lines aren't too long people wise. The first line I was the 8th person in line, 2 registers, 5 workers, 25 minutes later it was my turn. Food was cold. Workers looked confused behind the counter. Second time I was 15th in line. most lines were the same length. It was a bigger stand with 4 Registers, 8 workers behind the counter. I got there middle of the 6th inning, got out at the 8th inning. If it wasn't for the 7th inning no last call when most people left the line I would've waited longer. 45 min wait. Ugh! Missed most of the game because of this. This is why I didn't spent $$ on souvenirs like I planned. read more

We went to Camelback Ranch for Spring Training for the first time this year and really loved the park. While we aren't Dodgers fans, we played the part for out of town family and really had a great time. When walking up to the entrance, you already know that it's going to be a good experience because you're in a nice park-like setting. It's nice that they have it set up so that you can walk around the entire field, just as you could at a big stadium. Not all spring training parks are set up that way. There's also plenty of room to move around, unlike other parks. So even though there are plenty of people there, it doesn't feel overly crowded. When we arrived, we were starving so the hubs and I decided to share a footlong Sonoran dog. It was really delicious...and huge! So glad we decided to share. We spent most of the game at the Four Peaks bar where we could watch the game on the screen while sitting under the shade and ordering beer on tap. What a great experience! I would highly recommend coming to this facility for spring training. It is a shared complex between the Dodgers and White Sox. It all starts when you pull in to park. They do not charge for parking which is an added plus. The practice fields are beautiful and can get real close to watch the player work outs. There are so many fields and a pond in the middle. Very well up kept. The stadium itself is small and a nice field. No bad seat to watch the game. Will definitely be coming back every year that I can. read more

Blue heaven in AZ! As soon as you park in the complex, you come to realize how relaxed it is. Even though the Boys in Blue are preparing for another season, the atmosphere is relaxed, inviting, and great. First off, parking is always free! Seems that there are multiple lots however I parked on a dusty and dry dessert lot just outside of the auxiliary practice fields - easy in and easy out. There's a gate with a security checking bags before you get into the practice area. Leave that can of aerosol sunscreen in the car. Bottled creamy sunscreen is fine. Only water is allowed in the stadium. Daily workouts are free to the public so there is a great chance you'll see your favorite player warming up, or fine tuning their skills. You are really close to the ballplayers. You can take photos or even ask for autographs. They sometimes have events where you can meet and greet Dodger legends. There is a main field where the games happen. It's a very intimate ball field with grass outfield seating where you can bring the family and have a picnic. If you desire stadium seating with beer, Dodger dogs, nachos, etc - they have that too. The only downside is that shade is extremely scarce. If you need a break from the AZ sun, head under the stadium boxes to get some relief. Also the Dodgers share the facility with the Chicago White Sox... read more

This is a nice modern stadium shared between the white sox and dodgers and I only have two complaints. The scoreboard has no info, it doesn't tell you the players average or their number. Also, there were thousands of grasshoppers flying around the lights catching little bugs. There were very annoying because they would come down near the seats and fly around. Absolutely loved this place. I'm not big on sports but my kids are and of course I come along. It's so big, clean & beautiful. There are about 6 practice fields which you can walk by and watch the players up close practicing, warming up, pitching practice, and scrimmages. The main stadium where both the Dodgers and White Sox play is such a great layout. There is not a bad seat in the house. The players are all so close and it's quite easy to catch balls - you can even have them signed if the players are willing and get really great pictures. Only bad thing is that most games start at 1:05 and it's like the hottest time of the day so your literally baking in the sun. Make sure to wear lots of sunblock, and hats or get a seat behind home plate because it's the only shaded area - bad part about those seats is that there's a net there so if your hoping to catch some balls you won't get any there. read more

Aside from too few bathrooms outside of the stadium there isn't anything I'd change about Camelback Ranch. We've been here several times for Dodgers Spring Training and I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend getting to know this years prospects and seeing Dodger players up close. I guess if you really wanted to, you could spend a lot of money to sit close at Dodger Stadium however you're not going to enjoy the same relaxed atmosphere and you're going to spend a ton of money for the privilege. Camelback affords you the opportunity to easily walk around the stadium, see the players warm-up, and even have some small talk as you get autographs or see players walk by. If you have children or are just a fan of baseball, I'd highly recommend going here at least once for the experience. Stuff to think about if you've never been to Camelback: 1. Hotels are expensive for Spring Training. Reserve early and be prepared to stay 30 minutes away for a decent rate. 2. Parking fills up fast so get there early. As an added bonus you'll get to see the players warm-up and you can even walk over to the White Sox side of the complex and meet some of their players too. 3. You will be tired so stay an extra night if possible. You may be tempted to drive back after a game but if you've been at the park since 8:30am; you're going to be tired by 4:30pm when the game is over. Better be safe and enjoy an early dinner and get some rest than try to drive back to CA when you're tired and potentially hitting traffic. read more

GOOD The place is beautiful. No bad seats in the house and everything is on one level. Food is good but mostly big league prices. The gift shop is small but has lots: hats, shirts, banners, foam fingers. And many items that are spring training specific. BAD 95% of the seats are in sun the entire time and it's the desert! I was there in a sellout. Stadium holds over 13,000 and there just isn't room for that many people in the non-seat areas. Especially when the home team is in the field and everyone gets up to get food. read more

The atmosphere for a Dodgers vs Padres spring training game is relaxed and (thanks to being a night game) pleasant with good views from every seat. Downgraded the rating though for the parking exodus. We sat without moving at all for nine minutes and then inched out graaaddduuuaaallly. Need to work on it, guys! This was our first time as a family/ large group going to Spring Training in Phoenix AZ. (Dodgers vs. Angels) The ballpark is easy to access and parking was free, and easy! We were able to park close to the stadium in the disabled parking lot, and walked right in the ADA line (we had a disabled elderly person in our group) and this made it so much easier to make the longer walk to the seats, as getting in was a breeze. There isn't much cell service in the stadium so be aware of that when traveling in groups. Our seats were section 102, and nicely shaded for the 1pm game. The stadium was clean and had a lot of accessible concession stands and clean bathrooms available. The large cans of beers range around 15$ which seemed normal for a ballpark. The lines were long as it was a sold out game, so it took about 30 min in line, again to be expected with such a large turnout. We would definitely be back again to see another game at this stadium. Also like how they have mini snack bars and bathrooms near each section of fields so you don't have to walk away from the game. My brother played here for a tournament and it was an amazing experience. The location of the fields was easy to get to. The fields themselves are AMAZING. Real, green, very low cut grass. You couldn't even sit in your own down natzi square for 5 seconds without an extremely rude staff member approaching you to put your mask on.. lines like 'I don't want to have to ask you again' we're used.. This stadium is always one of my favorites in Phoenix. They host the LA Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox. I have to admit their team store as a whole has gotten much better over the last couple years. We got to catch a white sox vs cubs game on Friday! It was a lot of fun! Man, was it hot! I think at least two people had to be attended to because of the heat. There maybe not be enough shaded area for everyone so be prepared and stay hydrated. This year they didn't allow anyone to bring in aerosol cans for suntan sprays. So everyone was pretty upset about throwing them away. Mine was a full bottle ready for use and I still had to toss it. The food was great, I got fish tacos and Danny got a traditional Chicago dog. We had a great time and can't wait to come back! read more

I've been to about a half-dozen spring training venues in the Phoenix areas, and this one strikes me as the best. The best way to come in is through the back (outfield) gates. It goes through a quiet park, complete with geese and a pond, surrounded by the Dodgers and White Sox practice fields. You are free to roam around once inside, the best area is behind the outfield for the walkways, giant bobbleheads, and shops. The park itself is very clean and inviting. The visitor bullpen is very accessible, you can watch the pitching staff warm up from a few feet away, and even snag a ball if you are nice to the pitchers (get to know their names!). Only things I would bitch about are the lack of decent food options (typical ballpark far, nothing exciting), and lack of cupholders in seats. read more

When Stevey P asked me if I wanted to go to the first game at Camelback Ranch I jumped at the chance. Its been a long winter and I need some baseball! The stadium itself is beautiful, the natural rock walls give it a very "Arizona" feel. The sight lines from our lawn seats were pretty good and they have a decent amount of seating in several different lawn sections. The complex is large, with multiple practice fields, manicured lawns, walkways and waterways. The replica stadium fields are a nice touch. There were some aspects of my experience here that really detracted from the day. First of all, the parking situation is ridiculous. One would imagine that having a large open space to build this complex would allow for a better design for the parking lot but its just a huge mess. Also, the parking lot is really far from the stadium itself, you have to cross the entire complex to get there. The concessions also left much to be desired, it was pretty much your standard stadium fare. The service at the concession stands really needs work. It wasn't that they didn't have enough people, they were certainly well staffed, but they really need to figure out a system to speed up the process. I'm sure it will come with time. Also, my hot dog was pretty lackluster and my hot pretzel was as hard as a rock. If you have ever been to a game with me you know that I love stadium food. LOVE IT. So this bummed me out. Two other notes. First, the music they play is incredibly loud. It needs to be lowered a few notches. Second, while the prices of lawn seats are what you would expect to pay, they do have seats that approach the $100 range. For spring training?! All in all it was a fun afternoon. After many...MANY MONTHS, its almost time for DODGER BASEBALL!! From October to mid-February, I had to fill my sports appetite with basketball. When I got an e-mail from the Dodgers to register for tickets for Spring Training.....I WAS ON my A-GAME. I have visited Dodgers Stadium and Isotopes Park. I can finally mark, Camelback Ranch off my list. I attended the first three games of the 2013 Spring Training Seasons with the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs. The first game was going to have the most crowd because of everyone showing up including the NEW owners from the Guggenheim Partners. Camelback Ranch is quite new and very scenic. It is home, not just for the Dodgers, but to the Chicago White Sox. Access to Camelback Ranch is very easy and FREE PARKING! You have multiple ways to access the park: Straight into the stadium or take a very beautiful walk to the training fields. Bags will be checked. The big item is the water bottle. Only 1 Liter, but they may let it slide if you have more. No Can Sodas! I had tons of baseballs and they were wondering if I was going to throw all of them in the field. Nah, just purely for autographs. It would be funny if I did, but I would be banned. The landscape is just marvelous with a canal running through and the multiple fields for other teams. You can watch the pitchers, major hitters, and/or watch players work on their techniques. You can try to grab players autographs behind the metal fence and some of them will slip by you. So, you better be READY! After you are done watching the players, you can enter the park. You can re-enter the park if you need to. They will exit your ticket and re-enter it in their system. There is a team store for both the Dodgers and White Sox. The park is so clean, you wouldn't realize you were there for a game...until you hear the announcer call the players. I've had front row seats on the Dodgers Side and got a couple of Dodgers Autograph. There is an All-You-Can-Eat Patio Section on the left field. It is much more classier than the All You Can Eat Pavilion at Dodger Stadium. I had great views of the Dodger Legend, Sandy Koufax and current Dodger Pitchers. You have the basic items: hot dogs, chips, popcorn, and peanuts with soda. I ate so much that I didn't even have room for ice cream....Until the next day that is....lol. I've met a couple people at Dodger Stadium such as Dean who is an user at Section 27, Stephanie, one of the security at the gate, Melissa, host at the All You Can Eat Patio, and Jose, another host at the All You Can Eat Patio. Without these wonderful people who represent, not just the Dodgers, but Camelback Ranch, the experience wouldn't be the same. It would feel like the old Dodger Days and I am sure a lot of you don't want those days to come back. Dodger Stadium, Isotopes Park, and Camelback Ranch are just simply amazing. I've had great moments at every baseball venue and I...SO...can't wait to go back. April 1st is the Dodger Home Opener and can't wait for those words: It's Time for Dodger Baseball! Probably my least favorite of all of the Spring Training facilities I've been to, and I come watch my Giants play ball every March. - Most parks have vendors that that unique to them. The ones at Camelback Ranch are the ones you'll find everywhere: Vienna Beef, Carly's Italian Ice, that nasty Lemonade, etc. - The advertised Dodgers Dogs don't taste anything like the dogs I've had at Dodgers Stadium. Lower-quality beef and the standard white bun. Nice try. - Street traffic getting in and out of the facility is one of the worst in the Cactus League. - No cup holders in the seats! - The parking lots are just dusty dirt fields. Went and saw the Dodgers Vs. Diamondbacks yesterday with a group of coworkers and friends yesterday, my job was one of the sponsors of the game, so it was fun just hanging out and having good time. I have to say, it was my very 1st spring training game! I was very impressed with Camelback Ranch, what a pretty looking facility, good seats, lawn seats looked comfortable too, and skyboxes too! Everywhere you walked you could find some sort of food item being sold. I also liked that they allowed you to bring in a bottle of water too! I wound up ordered a Chicago dog & cherry ice. Had a good time, enjoyed just checking out the facility. Don't know if I would be back, baseball just isn't my thing, but none the less still had fun! read more

OH MY GAWD!!!! This has to be the most absolutely beautiful spring training facility that exists!!!! Though I have not been to all of them, I have been to plenty, both in Arizona as well as Florida. First off, the place is huge!! I had heard that it is 180 acres..tons of practice fields, It even has it's own lake-like thingy . Very modern design stadium, it doesn't look like what it is until you look inside...good view from what appears to be all seats. All in all My 2nd favorite team, the White Sox, (#1 is and will always be the Phillies) as well as the Dodgers, have a lot to be very proud of. The facility just opened, I was, I suppose, among the very first to get a good look. I can say that they are still ironing out kinks, so forget about perfection this year. There are hassles, as the previous reviewers opined. Give them a little time to streamline (parking, food services, etc.) Let's go,go, go White Sox!! Play Ball!!! read more

This is a 4 1/2 star review. I really enjoyed the openness to the complex. Beautiful grounds with practice fields so close in proximity. The stadium has a fantastic visual appeal with yellow seats and an expansive concourse. The food and beverage options were solid. We especially enjoyed the bar in right field. The only negative was the lack of shade, which is no big deal for a sun-loving freak like me, but more so for my friend and his young children. A definite Spring Training visit even for the fan who doesn't have a rooting interest! read more

Great Place to Watch a Game This park is beautiful and spacious. Every seat has a great, close view. There is an intimate feel, we have gotten many autographs and photographs. The park offers free parking and the easy in/out with minimal traffic, is a bonus. Only drawback is there is very minimal shade, so bring mist fans and lots of sunscreen. The food is okay, nothing soecial, and very pricey, like most parks. I try to always bring frozen water bottles and snacks. On every trip we visit the store to pick out some fun new Spring Training apparel at reasonable prices. If you're looking to attend a game, stop by, very enjoyable. read more

Been coming to Camelback Ranch since it's first year, always a great time, especially rooting for My Dodgers. Facility is just beautiful, lots of walking spaces to catch practice for both The Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. The stadium is simply amazing, any seat is just great to catch a game. Plenty of restrooms and concession stands with a variety of food & snack choices. Free Parking! Always a plus. read more

This was my first year visiting to see Dodgers in Spring Training. I was so happy that parking was free!! The ranch itself is very large and filled with multiple fields. The actual playing field is pretty nice, but there is very limited shade. For a game at 1pm, the only shade I saw were the seats on the top section and the last few rows on the field level. There were many vendors, and the team store is pretty small! read more

I'm dinging it one star because it IS the home of the Dodgers and that in itself makes it not perfect. I visited this park yesterday, Sunday, March 29th. A Dodgers vs. Padres game. BEAUTIFUL stadium. I did think it was odd that the main entrance was in center field and not home plate, where I entered. Love the natural, rusted look of everything. Seems very large for a spring stadium. Excited out the center field entrance before game time and explored the practice fields and water features. Awesome area. I think I need a whole day just to see everything out there. We sat on the grass, in left field on the foul side of the foul pole. Great area, beautiful view. Unlike a lot of the other grass area seating at other parks, we could actually see the scoreboard and all the fielders. A thumbs up in my book! All the workers were really nice. I got a hi from most of them just walking by! Can't comment on any of the food/drinks as I didn't spend any money there. I brought in all my own stuff. I was disappointed in the team store. I was looking for something commemorating the first year of the park, like I was able to pick up in Goodyear. Nothing. Would have been nice to have. Really, that's the main reason I wanted to get out there this year, to get an inaugural year souvenir. Great place. If it weren't so far away, I'm sure I'd go more often. read more

Not great from an accessibility perspective,which started with parking my accessible van. It was not clear on where to park. We were directed to a parking lot close, but had to improvise to make sure we could park, and ensure we could unload and load my power wheel chair.without fearing we'd be blocked in. Handicapped seating means your likely sitting in the last row, and your companion has to sit in cheap folding chair. When we realized that 3 of our party of 4 would be in folding chairs, we inquired about exchanging two for regular seating. The person in customer service said that was impossible because they were sold out, even though we showed her that I could purchase tickets online using there app, and there were lots of open seating. Bathroom stalls that are handicap are too few, too small, and doors are near impossible to close by myself. We did find a Security person who was helpful, and a seating attendant who was nice enough to allow us to move to a open shady handicap seating area. Lines were crazy long for everything. Wow, just wow. The customer service received by Lawrence here was just incredibly rude. HEADS UP face shields are not accepted here and will let you in just to rudely threaten and kick you out 3 innings in. No accommodations made especially after not being told anything at entry and turned away. Also not listed on their website. Why was I not told anything at the gate? I interacted w plenty of employees, not told anything. It took a couple interactions w Lawrence. He was just nasty from the start. read more

I'm gonna have to bite my tongue and just call it like it is despite being a big SF Giants fan and an big Dodger hater. This is the best Spring Training facility in Arizona. It embodies what one thinks of when spring training comes to mind: laid back, nice weather, fun, leisurely, and ball players close up near the fans. The park is very intimate and there's not a bad seat in the park. If there was a negative, it would be the distance it is from Scottsdale. It's about a 25-30 minute. For a spring training facility, the cost of the tickets are very reasonable. For seats along the 3B line, you can pay is little at $11-$15/ticket. Also, the volunuteers are very friendly. Was the best Spring training experience and look forward to seeing another Giants/Dodgers Spring training game here. read more
