Dirty seats
Daniella D.

I'm not one to leave reviews but I am still appalled by this experience. Last night, we went to watch the Michael Jackson movie. Every thing was okay until while we were getting our drinks, the soda machines were sticky and dirty. Once we walked into the theatre, I was in disbelief because I've never seen a theatre be this dirty! There was food left on the seat next to us. The seats are disgustingly dirty. You can visibly see they have not been cleaned. The floors looked very questionable too. I almost wanted to leave because of how uncomfortable it felt. For a theatre to be expensive and have an experience like this? This place needs serious renovations. Will not got back ever!!!!!!

Went to AMC Westgate today with my daughter to see a limited run movie. This was our first time at this location and it will hopefully be our last. The place was clean but they only had 1 person working the concessions and a bog crowd coming in. The popcorn didn't feel very fresh eventhough we were there for a noon show. Lastly and probably my biggest issue is the lack of reclining seats. The seats in our theater were the old style that are fabric, don't recline and are small. We made due but for the fact we paid a LOT to see the special run movie to me it was not worth it at all.

In Arizona, you are typically either a Harkins or AMC movie fan. I grew up at Harkins, so that's always been my go to. My sister and I decided to go to AMC on a Wednesday evening to see an early release of wicked part two. The tickets were $16 apiece, which I find completely outrageous. This is my first time going to this establishment. When we walked in to take a greeter was very enthusiastic and super fun. He had good vibes and gave us the cute little free swag item for seeing the wicked movie. I could not believe the prices that I saw when we were waiting in line for concessions. I have food allergies and asked the guy behind the counter What ingredients were in a particular item, and while he went out of his way to ask for the ingredients list to make sure that my concern was noted, I cannot believe the prices. This large pretzel was $17, and the large popcorn was also around the same price. I spent $45 on those two things plus $40 for the tickets. This was only for two people, that is literally insane! I had a gift card here that's why we went, but I still have to pay quite a bit out-of-pocket after the gift card was redeemed. Why is AMC so much more expensive than other movie theaters, I don't get it. Definitely will not return.

Two start because the opening of the theater and the decor inside is really nice. Love how done up it looks but don't let it fool you. They still have old theater seating and it's extremely outdated and dirty. Super uncomfortable given most theaters around have the recliners now that are leather and not cloth. Was excited to see how their snack area looked but also unimpressed once we walked up to order and there wasn't a lot of real food options. Not to mention when we ordered the chicken tenders for almost $12 it doesn't come with fries. That's all separate. The chicken tenders were mostly just overcooked breading and very dry. It's extra for any extra sauce too. And you only get four chicken tenders. Everything was overpriced IMO. Moving on to the imax theater we sat directly in the middle and it wasn't busy but the theater is extremely loud and me and my party we were with kept hoping they'd turn it down before the movie started. I've been to theaters that were loud but this was something else. I might be biased because we go to harkens a lot where we have popcorn perks and the drink cups but they offer more food options and better priced concessions plus have reclining seats.

This place is in desperate need of deep cleaning, renovation and projector overhaul or recalibrating. It's been a few years since I've rented a private screening here and I forgot how poor this location is. This time for Wicked was no better. The smell of burnt popcorn was throughout both floors and the theaters at the time we got there until 3 hours later after the movie. The screens upstairs are dark, in badly need of either a new bulb, recalibration and maybe just start with cleaning the dirty dusty glass covering the projection room. The movies and commercials are dim, poor contrast and very bad colors. It was tough to make out the dark scenes in the movie and previews. Toilets were actually cleaner than the rest of the place. Standing around in the foyer and upstairs by the old closed confessions, the dry food spillage, dust layers and dirt plague all the horizontal surfaces. And don't look up to the 2 huge chandeliers and air vents!

One of the biggest Dolby Cinema in the US (comparable to AMC Burbank and Irvine Spectrum). Top choice for 3D content due to its outstanding brightness and contrast. The huge silver screen will give you the feeling of IMAX, along with it's tall 1.85:1 aspect ratio. G14 is the best seat and G13 is the second best.

Filthy and broken seats
Patrick B.

Dirty, filthy and broken chairs in theater. Broken sinks in restrooms. What a rundown place. Also extremely expensive drinks and snacks. Don't go here for a fun afternoon or evening movie. They don't care, so please don't keep funding them!!!

Super fun to be a Swiftie!

I'm trying to buy tickets, but it says that the seats are traditional seats. Does that mean they recline?

They are the original seats that don't fully recline. And they are close together like original seating that was common years ago. There is a picture posted what the seating looks like on their yelp page FYI.

Hadn't been to Westgate AMC for a couple years, only because I knew they didn't have recliners yet.

My husband ordered a large and my sister and I ordered smalls. When we got our bill the large beer was the same price as the small beers. Why didn't Vanessa tell us the large beers were on happy hour and were the same price as the small beers! Duh? We all wanted Beyond Burgers (my husband had cancer and was put on a plant based diet). Vanessa said she didn't think the Beyond Burgers were available anymore. She goes to check and comes back and said they are still available, . We all ordered cheeseburgers with the Beyond patties. We had to modify it without cheese or mayo but we all wanted the caramelized onions. My sister wanted verification that the onions were cooked and Vanessa said that they were. When we got our food which took a long time to get; it was luke warm and no caramelized onions. Vanessa said the cheeseburger doesn't come with caramelized onions! What?! My husband went and got the menu and it clearly states the cheeseburger comes with carmelized onions. I needed a knife to put mustard on my burger but none of us got any sliverware, napkins or coasters for our beers which were sweaty. After waiting for 10 minutes to get silverware my husband got up and got silverware from the bar. Now my lukewarm burger is cold as well as my fries. We asked for the manager and he did bring us caramelized onions in a to-go cup. Plus we got to-go containers to take our food home and reheat it. My sister and I waited tables when we we were young and had a whole lot more common sense. We did tip Vanessa but not nearly as much as we normally do. TP clearly hires based on looks and not brains. Vanessa is one of the worse waitresses we have experienced in a long time.

The presentation was absolutely stunning--my cocktail arrived surrounded by a dramatic smoky mist that instantly turned heads, while the martini was beautifully crafted and presented with so much attention to detail. The bartenders clearly take pride in their craft, and every sip was just as impressive as the presentation. The drinks were a solid 10/10. For dinner, I ordered the lobster pasta, and it exceeded every expectation. The sauce was rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful without feeling too heavy. The lobster itself was cooked to perfection--tender, buttery, and plentiful throughout the dish. Every bite felt indulgent and well-balanced, making it one of the best pasta dishes I've had in quite some time. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere at Yard House was lively, welcoming, and energetic. The service was attentive and friendly, and the entire experience felt polished from start to finish. Whether you're stopping in for handcrafted cocktails, a great meal, or a fun night out with friends and family, Yard House delivers on every level. I left already looking forward to my next visit.

Downstairs host was nice, asked if we wanted to eat upstairs or down. We decided upstairs. They just told us to head up and talk with the host. We went up. Someone from the bar did shout hi! There was no host seen. There was a handful of workers chatting at the bar even the downstairs host came up and walked by us to join the group chatting. Upstairs had 2 tables of 6-10 people, a handful of small parties outside. We stood there for 4-5 minutes before someone in a St. Patrick's day outfit running food said someone would be with us shortly. Waited another few minutes before the host emerged from the bathroom and sat us. Both my husband and I waited tables and I bartended before (10 years experience). We have a lot of patience and understanding. We were sat and not immediately greeted but a woman came up and quickly dropped water off. Her body language was dismissive and only said just "dropping off water". I really thought it might have been another host or busser, that was tired of getting mistaken for a sever. I brushed it off. We waited so much longer before our server (happened to be the same girl that dropped off the water) came back to take our drink order. She was cold and didn't make eye contact. She was very short with us. Left to put the drink order in. She did bring the kids their soft drinks, but again with an attitude. It was as if we were ruining her day by coming in. 10 min went by. In that time, we saw her walk by and again avoid eye contact. Not even a "your bar drinks are being made", or "I am just going to run these dishes back and come back to take your order. " A really nice bartender came back and started talking with us about baseball because we were coming from a spring training game. After waiting longer and still no sign our server was going to come back in a timely manner, I told my husband, that I would rather leave now and not let this server ruin our experience. There are plenty of places around that I would rather give my money too and they will treat us better. We left, on our way out we did let a manager know. They did apologized and asked where we were sitting. Two stars for the nice female bartender that was decked out in St. Patrick's day attire upstairs. Rating is strictly for service because we didn't get to try anything. I am willing to give this place another try. I will update my review if we do.
