The receptionist Teresa is very rude. Called to get my son an appt and she rushed me off the phone and wouldn't take our insurance info over the phone and had me email it to her. Well she finally replied 2 weeks later and said to call for appt lol So I did and she rushed me off the phone again saying she couldn't find his info and she would call me back. It's been a week now and still no call back. Called another optometrist and was able to give insurance info and get a new patient appt all in the first phone call. I'm sure the doctor is amazing but the whole experience was infuriating. read more

I had to redirect my niece's referral to Dr. Silverberg in Santa Barbara because the lady who answered who I had to ask for her name 3x (TERESA) was disgustingly rude and unprofessional. She kept cutting me off and disregarded that the referral was urgent. Horrible customer service. read more

Well after reading the reviews here and interacting with the doctor, I feel bad about having to leave this review...... Dr Parrett was extremely kind, attentive, -and seemed very knowledgeable. That being said I have never been in a dirtier medical office in my life! I was mildly amused by the 1990's decor in the waiting room, but upon being called back was stunned by the amount of medical equipment and stacks of papers lining both sides of the hallways and the large stains in the walkway rugs. Worse, upon entering the exam room it was clear that No One Had cleaned this room in possibly years. The counters were packed with innumerable items and various bottles of eye drops all open. The clear plastic "shield" on the eye exam device was covered with dust and hand prints and dried droplets of obviously unknown substances...... I didn't see a clear space on any counter except where the doctor writes, and beyond that the counter was covered and had not been wiped down. The trash can next to the exam chair had about 2 cm of dust on it so thick there was actually a hand print in the dust on top! This was just such an unsanitary environment that I had to warn other potential patients. Truly unbelievable. He seemed like a really nice man just NEEDS an office cleaning service and an assistant. read more

I have been going to this practice for about 10 years. Brenda has always been extremely helpful, kind and patient, whether I've needed advice on frames, or help with insurance. Dr. Parrett is unparalleled - best doctor I've ever seen. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I typically ask many questions, and he never hesitates to give a full explanation that I can understand. He is extremely thorough, and uses both his experience and technology during his examinations. I have come here for issues with my eyes and for standard check-ups/screenings. He is unbiased and honest. When I inquired about lasik he gave me a very honest answer as opposed to telling me what I wanted to hear. Very refreshing and very appreciated. This place is so excellent! I was able to get a next day appointment for my first visit for problems with dry eyes. Brenda (receptionist) wasEXTRAORDINARILY friendly and personable. I filled out paperwork and was seen right away. Dr Parrott was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. He explained every step of what he was doing in thorough detail. When it came time for diagnosis, he gave me a bit of an eye anatomy lesson, and then Explained how the treatment would work and why anatomy is important. My entire family sees Dr. Parrett. The office is conveniently located in the Kmart shopping center. I never have a problem getting an appointment. Brenda is friendly and helpful. She helped my son pick out a special pair of glasses that he loved. I have found their selection of eyewear is great and affordable. Dr. Parrett does a very thorough vision assessment. I usually go to a different eye doctor but after three weeks of trying to get an appointment on my next day off, I gave up and started calling other places. This place was able to see me within two days, and I was super impressed with the friendly and thorough service. I have been going to Dr. Parrett for eye exams for a couple of years and have been very impressed by his thoroughness, attention to detail and communication skills. He performs more tests than previous ophthalmologists and explains everything he is doing in clear language I can understand. It is obvious he loves his work and is extremely competent. A few weeks ago, Dr. Parrett performed cataract surgery on my first eye. The surgery went smoothly and my eye is now almost 20/20. Dr. Parrett went above and beyond to help me register at the hospital and make sure I was comfortable. He has checked my eye regularly since surgery to make sure it is healing properly (it is) and test my vision. He is meticulous in his examinations, checking and rechecking to ensure accurate measurements. Dr.Parrett is amazing. I went there when I was new to town and he was able to get me in quickly. His exam was so thorough and even spent time going over charts of differences in allergy eye drops with me. Our daughter needed to get in immediately due to pain in her eye. He was able to fit her in the same day. He found an ulcer on her cornea and is treating it. He even told my husband to call him on Sunday if her eye was not improving.
