I went here for an eye exam. I scheduled a contact lens set up, which they charge $160 for. I then decided that it really wasn't a wise decision as I only needed one or two cases of contact lenses for temporary use. I canceled the appointment, but I tried one of the lenses that they provided in a free trial set of five single lenses. The next day the doctor called and said I had to return that set of lenses for them to refund my money. That was done and they refunded $120. So they charge $40 for a five lens trial case. That is highway robbery. I asked for my visit notes for a meeting with an ophthalmologist and they printed them out. I noticed they were incorrect and have request requested three times over two weeks to get an updated copy. They have yet to respond. I will not be returning to this optometrist. read more

Don't bother with this place unless you like dealing with billing issues. Paid a $150 deposit just to schedule the appointments then paid when I was there. Then they transferred my sons copay that I had paid to my daughters account and said I hadn't paid his co pay and needed to repay it because they decided to transfer my copay payment I had made for his account to my daughters account. It's ridiculous don't even bother. I delayed in paying because this place is ridiculous. I finally paid because I need to submit the invoices to my insurance. But yeah avoid this place. I do not have a good experience when it comes to payment and the final product. despite the process on my contacts was so difficult I asked to do my frames but to make sure the prescription would fit me. The eyeglasses that they delivered were not at fit. Dr. Peterson would not work on another prescription until a pay him more money when in the invoice clearly states our satisfaction is their goal. I've been here before and let me say they are not very kid friendly. I had an appt today, and although they make courtesy calls for reminds, however I'm usually unavailable to confirm due to work but even so, if need be for me to cancel I'd call to notify any appts I have to be respectful. HOWEVER, my appt today was at 9AM and I get a call at 830AM to be informed to cancel my appt and reschedule because the doctor wasn't in today. Like WTF! Calling me the day of 30 min prior to my appt to say they wanted to reschedule. That is so unprofessional. You called yesterday and at least call to cancel my appt since you made the courtesy call for reminds, not the day of the appt. I won't be going to this place anymore. So disappointing. read more

I first came here several years ago to have some Silhouettes repaired. Back then I was impressed by the service. Later my husband came here pre-cataract surgery. I needed new glasses, so I had an initial exam. Everyone in the office is incredibly friendly and helpful. Dr. Peterson is also extremely personable and explains everything about your eyes. I will never see k Peterson ever again. Billing was very expensive. Received the amount due 7 months after the exam. Plus he referred me to a doctor in SLO to have eye cataract surgery in my left eye. After seeing that office I suspected that the surgery was not needed. And I was right. I went to Pacific eye in Pismo and they confirmed I do no need surgery. My recommendation go to pacific eye. read more

I was tasked with a job by my boss to pick up some contact lenses at this location. I parked easily enough it is a rather narrow parking lot. Walked in and was greeted by two ladies. I explained why I was there and one of the ladies started pecking away at a keyboard. After a few moments she asked who I was. I told her and then she said one minute please. She disappeared to the back and returned with a bag that contained the contacts. She then asked me if she needed solution and I said I have no idea she has been wearing her glasses. She left again and placed a bottle of solution in the bag. Handed it to me and I was on my way. The place was clean and didn't seem very busy during the time I was there. Not sure about the rest of the business but the front is run efficiently. Nothing bad to say. They had me in and out quickly so I could move on to more important matters. read more

Went to get my eyes checked. The bestest experience ever, Meghan the young lady at the counter found instantly a pair of glasses that for my face, and that is not an easy thing. The whole experience was incredible. Went through the whole exam , Doctor Peterson informed me that I have a eyesight of an eagle and did not need glasses at this point. I needed to establish with a new eye doctor and found this one thanks to Yelp and the great reviews I read. I actually contacted them originally via Yelp and the nicest person named Margie responded back very quickly. I then called and set up appointment with the help of another keeper in Johnny. That was all last week! And today was my appointment and moral of the story: "YELP DONT LIE." From start to finish: they were models of professionalism, efficiency and friendliness. My appointment was for 9:10. I was seen at 9:10. Thorough and competent mixed with a dollop of smiling good naturedness: that is Dr Peterson in a nutshell (I.e. everything you want in a Doctor/Human!). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We moved to the area about 2 years ago, so we had to find all new doctors. My husband was having an issue with one of his eyes a few months after moving to the area. We called Dr. Peterson's office because he was close by in hopes that they would see him. They were able to fit him in ( I was really surprised). I have 20/20 vision and I can see why Dr. Peterson receives such nice things about his practice. Only the second time I have ever been to an optometrists because I am getting a little older and some of my vision is changing a little. Nothing out of the ordinary but he and his staff are so welcoming and professional that it makes me fell very comfortable about the things that I am not used to.
