I have been with this practice for 10 years. I have seen both Dr. Hall but my primary OBGYN is Dr. Hersh. If you are looking for a doctor who is caring, concerning and relevant. I say relevant because yearly when I have an appointment with Dr. Hersh she is telling me the latest in women's medical history research. She takes pride in staying on top of the changes that effect me. She does not rush appointments. I had a question for her this past visit and she took the time to go over every aspect of my concern. I am fortunate I am able to get that type of personal, unhurried genuine care. I know several people who have had Dr. Hersh for surgical procedures and they all love her. She is just committed to her practice and to her patients. read more

Do not see her for any reason. I had decades of visits. She lied by omission, not explaining revised ACOG guidelines in 2016 and gives high risk HPV tests to women with no risk and keeps you coming for annual visits even though ACOG now says you can go 3-5 years if you have 30 years of no problem. She is zero help with menopause. She claimed to prevent osteoporosis with a FemHeart and then mocked me by bending over like a 90-year-old to walk out when I had it by late 50s and sent me down the hall to her doc friend who practiced his golf swing in my appointment for drug infusions. She knows nothing about weight lifting exercises that prevent it. An acquaintance won a lawsuit for punctured uterus and intestine about which she lied to the ER that she caused which misled their care. read more

I urge you to read this and the recent Google reviews before seeing Dr hersh. All in all, it was one of the worst medical experiences of my life. I would give a zero if I could. If you are concerned about your age, weight, fertility, etc. do your self a favor and find someone else who will be kinder and less fat phobic. She's incredibly unprofessional and rude. I especially do not recommend seeing Dr. Hersh if you are struggling with infertility, have PCOS, or are overweight/obese. On my first visit for PCOS she painted the absolute worst case scenario for fertility, telling me I would likely need to spend up to $50,000 on IVF to conceive my first child if I don't lose weight. This was before reading any of my medical records or talking to me about my concerns. I'm all for realistic information and don't want things sugar coated, but Dr. Hersh was thoughtless and hurtful. Further, I'm 34 and she told me I needed to freeze my eggs asap or else my kid would be more likely to get a host of terrible genetic conditions. I got several other opinions and they were all much more fact based on risks and said at this point my husband and I didn't need to worry about freezing my eggs upon actual medical testing. They were so much more positive and kind. Dr. Hersh also did not give me any warning before putting the clamps in during my appointment. Also the nurse couldn't figure out how to draw my blood and it took many mess ups and a supervisor to get it out. Of course it sometimes take a few tries but this was not normal. read more

if I could give a zero I would. While my experience with Dr. Hersch was a while back, from other reviews I've read it sounds like she's hardly changed. She was not open about her religious views which impacted her fertility treatment of me. And she was quite ugly about the fact that I was a bit overweight. The reason she comes to mind at this late date is I am just now unpacking information I have received about a procedure she did to me back in the day which actually hurt my chances in getting pregnant instead of making them better. I was happy that I formed my family by adoption, but fora 20 something in the beginning stages of fertility treatment, she was not the doctor for me. read more

Terrible and unsanitary practice. Dr. Hersch injured me during my last pap smear exam and caused an infection and injury to my cervix. I had to come back for another exam, but Dr. Hersh sent her nurse instead to do an examination which is really telling. I was ordered antibiotics to help with the infection and since that didn't help and after several calls to the office, I was told to come back yet again for another examination. Dr. did not want to order the ultrasound that was discussed during the previous exam and see for sure what is going on and why the pain after pap exam persist. I refused to go back for the third time and being seen for the same issue and asked just for ultrasound order which I was refused unless I show up in the office. I guess charging more money for the appointment is more important than the wellbeing of their patients, so I was left with pain and unsolved medical problem and all that due to injury caused by the Dr and their unsanitary equipment used during exam. What was most upsetting is that they continuously blamed it on something else, even though bleeding, infection and pain started right after the first visit and pap smear. This is not how doctors should behave but sadly a lot of them are like this, they don't care about patients and problems they actually cause but about money. Horrible experience. read more

I had such bad experiences with my prior gyns that I stopped going. Have been trying to manage menopause symptoms myself. Started watching Menopause Taylor educational youtube videos, and came to the conclusion I just didn't have the right gyn before. I searched and found Dr. Hersh. Her office got me in quickly, and I met with her today. She is fabulous!!! She understands what it is like to be a post-menopausal woman, and she is well versed in what options are out there for treatment. I went from feeling desperate and hopeless to hopeful. I'd give her 10 starts if I could. It is hard to find a gyn that cares about menopause, but she clearly gets it. So thankful!!! read more

Horrible experience. My girlfriend went in for a major health concern and was completely dismissed. Dr Hersh also asked her to take time off work with two days' notice after starting a new job, and when my girlfriend responded saying that might not be possible, she was incredibly rude to her and left the room. This was the second time my girlfriend had seen Dr Hersh, and after reading the reviews thought she would be the best to address this very pressing and worrying health concern, and she was absolutely ignored and treated like she was worthless. Do not see Dr Hersh if you want a doctor who is compassionate and empathetic. read more

I was at this practice for about a year. During this time I saw Dr. Hersh just once. She was always to busy, booked our whatever. I took appointments to see her and ended up either meeting the PA Amy or another doctor who was new to the practice and hence they wanted patients to see her. I'm very disappointed in this practice and have moved back to my old doctor who's very compassionate and understanding. She shows up for her appointments always. Dr. Hersh and her team of medical professionals have been my doctors for over 15 years. They have seen me through several medical issues as well as delivered my 2 children. The care I've received is professional, considerate, preventative and personal and her staff has been with her as long as I've been a patient there, which says a lot about her practice. What a fabulous doctor and practice. After my previous OB/GYN retired, I had a terrible experience with my next doctor. Finally, my GP sent me to her own doctor, Dr. Hersh. What a wonderful, kind, caring, knowledgeable woman. She treats her patients with respect and as a partner in our own health care decisions. I now live 50 minutes away and I travel to her. Once you find someone that good, you don't give them up! The staff is terrific... even on a day when the new scheduling system was not working properly and two patients showed up very late for appointments. Top notch!! read more

I was looking for a good female OB/GYN when I moved to the area 9 years ago and a new friend referred me to Dr. Hersh. I highly recommend Dr. Hersh for women. She is up on the latest procedures and has helped me through some very difficult GYN issues. I have found her to be extremely professional and on top of medical advances in best practice treatments for women. Because of Dr. Hersh's care, I received tremendous help during the transition into menopause and was able to maintain really good energy and great mood stability. I have been a patient of Dr. Hersh since I was 17 years old. This is the first and only review I have ever written. I am writing it because I feel so strongly about the trust I place in Dr. Hersh to care for me. The reason I first went to her was because she was recognized as a "Top Doc" in the area, which means that other Doctors would send their own family members to her. Through the years, I have had several Gyn issues - ovarian cysts that required surgery, fears of infertility, and finally, the birth of my son. Dr. Hersh has always handled my concerns with wisdom and whenever I leave her office, I feel good about my health. She has so much experience, you feel that nothing you throw her way could stump her! She has a lot of patients, but the day she delivered my son, she made me feel that I was the only one. As I (nervously) waited for the Operating Room to become available (I had a C-Section...very early in the morning), any anxiety I had was erased when Dr. Hersh's smiling face came into the room announcing that "The Stork had arrived!" She later saw my husband in the parking lot, and spoke to him about our son. Taking the time out of her day to treat you with the utmost courtesy and give you her undivided attention is just one of the reasons I would never leave Dr. Hersh. Her office staff is also very professional and above all else, caring...especially the "back office" ladies - the nurses, Christine, and the lab techs. They have a Lab Corps in house, so the practice is a one-stop shop. Additionally, in preparation for my wedding, I had several skin treatments there. I have never been complimented on my skin so much as on my wedding day! My husband still tells me it was the best I ever looked! Once when I came in for a routine repeat pap-smear, I told Dr. Hersh I was concerned that I hadn't become pregnant in over a year of trying to conceive. Even though I was there for a 10 minute appointment, Dr. Hersh wrote me several prescriptions to get checked out...for both myself and my husband. She told me everything would be ok, and I believed her. I relaxed...and the next month I became pregnant. Dr. Hersh is the only Doctor I have that I trust with my life. Gynecological issues are so very important for young females, and you will never doubt you are in the best of hands when you are Dr. Hersh's patient. Any Doctor there is good and they all discuss the best route of care for you. I will never leave the VA Women's Health Family...if Dr. Hersh moves to California, I guess I will have to fly there each year for my Pap. I cannot thank Dr. Hersh and the others enough for always being there for me. I highly recommend them! read more

I can not say enough good things about Dr Hersh and the entire practice at VWHA. I had my total hysterectomy in early Oct of 2015. I had spent years in discomfort and went to several gynecologists until I found Dr. Hersh who recommended the surgery and said "you will not miss your uterus". Dr Hersh spent so much time explaining the procedure and answering my pages of questions. I had several doctors before Dr. Hersh recommend a hysterectomy but I never felt comfortable with the decision until I met Dr. Hersh. I literally woke up from my surgery and felt relief from all the pain and pressure I had been dealing with for years. My only regret is that I did not find Dr. Hersh sooner and had the surgery years earlier. Dr Hersh and the entire staff have been a blessing. Dr Hersh is the first Dr I have ever found who takes unlimited time during my exams to talk about not only my gynecological concerns but all of my health concerns.
