Hidden in the village of Port Washington is Caminito Kitchen, an Argentinian Empanada and sandwich shop with some Korean influence. Ambience - the dining room is a standard cozy sandwich shop or cafe. The owner is Argentinian of Korean descent. There is actually a sign that reads "yes' I'm from Argentina", so I guess plenty of people are thrown off by the accent. Staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu. Food: we tried: Beef Clasica Empanada - the classic ground beef empanada. This was perfect. 5/5 Spicy Shrimp Empanada - shrimp, onions, coconut milk and Thai curry. This tasted like it came straight out of a Thai restaurant but stuffed in an empanada 4/5 Bulgogi Empanada - right out of your local K-BBQ, but in a baked pastry shell. 4/5 Milanese de Pollo - Fried Chicken cutlet in a baked roll. This was so fresh. The chicken was tender and flavorful. 5/5.

Wow! Did not expect such flavor bombs. Not your classic empanadas, there are so many interesting flavors Our favorite was the Gorgonzola and nuts and tuna olive which will make it on the menu soon. We also really enjoyed the mushrooms, spicy beef and carnitas Also make sure you try the hot sauce with the red peppers. The owner was super nice and the empanadas came out a lot sooner than the 15 minutes they said. We will certainly become regulars!

Have been to Caminito a few times and it is always great! The empanadas are delicious, and the flavors are unique. The way that they are labeled is great as it can sometimes be tough knowing which is which if they all look the same! The passionfruit juice is also amazing, tart and fruity- one of the best I've had! The service is quick and easy, order at the counter. The ambiance is okay, small space with some tables and TVs. Usually do takeout..would recommend!

I really wish you would open a butcher shop here too. Long Island does not have a good Spanish butcher, and that is one of the things I miss most about living in Queens, the amazing food and butchers. Life really came full circle when I got to bring my 10-month-old son here, and he loved everything . The food is always so fresh and full of flavorful. The morcilla is rich , creamy and perfectly seasoned( they make the best morcilla I age ever had) and the empanadas are my absolute favorite with their flaky golden crust and authentic homemade taste. The meats and sides are just as incredible. The Russian potato salad is creamy and refreshing, the potato with parsley has that perfect balance of simplicity and freshness, and every bite of meat is tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The chimichurri ties it all together with bright garlic and herbs that make every dish pop. Thank you for staying consistent all these years. The food is always seasoned perfectly and made with care. I also love that you still serve the free appetizer of fresh bread, cheese, salami, and tomato. It is such a classic touch and still one of my favorite parts of the meal.

The steak came out and the smell of the char with it being perfectly seasoned was hypnotic. It looked and was super juicy. You don't even need the chimichurri! The garlic potatoes were heavy on the garlic of course and it was great. I just wished it was a bit more on the plate. Very very satisfying meal that does not break the bank. Argentine cuisine is a blend of influences from the Italian and Spanish immigrants with its chief national product, beef. They say the reason Argentine steak is so good is that its cattle graze on the country's plentiful pampas grass, rather than being grain-fed as American cattle are. The result is leaner, more flavorful, and more nutritious beef. One such establishment is on Moonachie Road in Moonachie, where my partners, our friends and I decided on Saturday dinner. Reservations were easily made via OpenTable. Upon entering this cozy, modern interior of Tango Steak as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table right away. We were here 3 years ago when it was El Tango Argentina Grill. The vibe has completely changed. It's now darker and louder, not family-friendly. Music was at a decent volume and does seem to increase as it gets later, giving it a lounge type. As an appetizer, we started with Beef and Chicken Empanadas as well as Calamares (Calamari). For our main meal, we decided on the Extrana (Skirt Steak) with Mashed Potatoes & Chimichurri Sauce and Tango Burger accompanied with Fries. Food was good, not awesome. Our appetizers were tasty and well seasoned. The Skirt Steaks tasted fantastic with the Chimichurri Sauce. The Mashed Potatoes had a nice texture. However, some of us asked that their Tango Burgers be made medium but came out well done. The Fries were salty and very dry. Our service was horrendous, but our server was Nathaly who was accommodating and apologetic. Some of us had gotten their appetizer faster than others. The duration between our appetizers and the main meal was an hour. The food was not cheap given the portions received and the 20% gratuity added automatically to the bill. With insult to injury, their valet attendant charged $5. Definitely not what we expected, which is why we sadly can't recommend this place.

That was enough for us to decide we will not be returning. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years. The food has generally been good, which is why my family continued returning and recommending it to others. Our history with the restaurant has not been without issues. Years ago, we stopped coming after a Mother's Day incident involving my grandmother. We had been seated in the upstairs dining room (when it was still open), only to later be told by the owner that we did not have a reservation and that we had to leave. After several years, we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and eventually started coming back again. Unfortunately, today confirmed that the earlier incident was not simply bad luck. I was dining with my parents. We ordered two steaks, two appetizers, three sides, a bottle of wine and later a second bottle (of which we only drank half), along with four after-dinner drinks, cappuccino, and dessert. It was clearly a very busy day, and service was slower than usual. Because of the restaurant's pace, our meal ended up lasting a little over three hours. We were patient the entire time and never complained. After we finished eating and were simply finishing our drinks, the owner, Marcelo, approached our table and remarked that we had been there for three hours and were now only drinking alcohol, indirectly suggesting that his establishment was not a bar but a place for dining. Considering that we had just spent several hundred dollars and have been customers for decades, the comment was unnecessary and unprofessional. We immediately asked for the check and left. For context, I am a physician and understand the pressures of demanding work environments. However, professionalism and respect toward customers should always come first. Over the years, my family has typically spent between $300 and $500 per visit here. Unfortunately, after this experience, this will be the last time we come. There are many excellent Argentinian and Uruguayan steakhouses where customers are treated with appreciation and respect, and that is where we will be going moving forward.
