My SO and I have traveled extensively in Argentina and have many Argentinian friends here in NYC and have had our fair share of homemade and restaurant Argentinian empanadas and these right here and the REAL MF DEAL (as Samuel L. Jackson would say if he had them). RUN here, like now, and grab several dozen of every kind of empanada they offer! Tried the traditional beef, the chicken and the spicy beef empanadas and the dough is perfectly thin and crunchy but still sturdy enough to hold in all of the generous stuffed fillings! All were seasoned to perfection and just so juicy that there was nothing dry about these delicious pockets of deliciousness and not so juicy that it created wet pockets to make it soggy. Also tried their Lomito sandwich they serve and again, brought me back to all the fond memories of all of the sammies I had in Burgess Aires. Empanadas also feature her Korean heritage fillings as well so you get a nice combo! PSA to the Future consumers: Just like America has Americans of different ethnicity born and raised here, other countries have that too, people! Owner/chef is an Argentinian Korean who's parents immigrated there many moons ago and she was born there thus making her a bonafide Argentinian. The audacity of some people passing judgement on her and her knowledge of her home country's cuisine she's presenting is absurd and disrespectful. With that said, this is a must go and a must support to remain open forever!

Hidden in the village of Port Washington is Caminito Kitchen, an Argentinian Empanada and sandwich shop with some Korean influence. Ambience - the dining room is a standard cozy sandwich shop or cafe. The owner is Argentinian of Korean descent. There is actually a sign that reads "yes' I'm from Argentina", so I guess plenty of people are thrown off by the accent. Staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu. Food: we tried: Beef Clasica Empanada - the classic ground beef empanada. This was perfect. 5/5 Spicy Shrimp Empanada - shrimp, onions, coconut milk and Thai curry. This tasted like it came straight out of a Thai restaurant but stuffed in an empanada 4/5 Bulgogi Empanada - right out of your local K-BBQ, but in a baked pastry shell. 4/5 Milanese de Pollo - Fried Chicken cutlet in a baked roll. This was so fresh. The chicken was tender and flavorful. 5/5.

Wow! Did not expect such flavor bombs. Not your classic empanadas, there are so many interesting flavors Our favorite was the Gorgonzola and nuts and tuna olive which will make it on the menu soon. We also really enjoyed the mushrooms, spicy beef and carnitas Also make sure you try the hot sauce with the red peppers. The owner was super nice and the empanadas came out a lot sooner than the 15 minutes they said. We will certainly become regulars!

Have been to Caminito a few times and it is always great! The empanadas are delicious, and the flavors are unique. The way that they are labeled is great as it can sometimes be tough knowing which is which if they all look the same! The passionfruit juice is also amazing, tart and fruity- one of the best I've had! The service is quick and easy, order at the counter. The ambiance is okay, small space with some tables and TVs. Usually do takeout..would recommend!

Mind blowing how good these empanadas are. Wish I knew about this spot sooner! The pork, chicken and bulgogi were really good.

Truly excellent empanadas- they are made fresh and can take a few minutes so if you're in a hurry, just call ahead and then pick up.

Never skip the guac, it's absolutely amazing and so delicious. My favorites are the quesa-birria and the iron skillet mixtos. The birria tacos were so flavorful and perfect with the green salsa and dip. The cheese and meats were really delicious for the iron skillet and made the perfect fajitas. We also get the chicken enchiladas this time as well which were also very yummy. We got their gelato bowl to split after which had pistachio, dulce de leche, and dark chocolate scoops and they were amazing. Really wow'ed by the pistachio flavor and the dark chocolate was so rich. Overall, I love this restaurant and the fun worry dolls they share with you after. So glad they have two locations now.

We have been told by staff that they are both popular and regularly requested. Perhaps they are consolidating menu items to save on expenses, but they've lost a regular customer. To add insult to injury, today's mahi mahi was overcooked and at least 1/3 was inedible 'dark meat.' Tried to find something else, but the kitchen made the decision for us. We're done.
