Food and drink were excellent. However, Customer service is always fundamental to having a pleasant dining experience, and this place lacks it. Our server an older gentleman with glasses (wish I could recall his name) was extremely rude and obnoxious. When i requested drinks, he brushed us off as if we were second class citizens. Mind you this place is by no means upscale, perhaps an upgrade from chipotle. This server lacked any charisma on top of being rude. If you dine here I'm Sure you will spot him right away. Had a great experience here! We came for lunch and ordered a pitcher of margarita, papusas, veggie quesadillas, veggie nachos, guacamole. I liked that the chips tasted fresh and in-house and the portions/taste of everything else we ordered. It was the perfect amount of food for 6 hungry individuals. Came here for dinner as we've always walked by but never been. We got the smoked pineapple margarita and the spicy cucumber margarita. Both were great and hit the spot. I got the churrasco mojito which was a skirt steak with chimichurri. The steak was very flavorful and perfectly cooked, it didn't even need the chimichurri. The rice and beans were a bit bland on their own but when mixed with the pico de gallo were great. Staff was friendly and attentive. We plan on coming back! read more

This restaurant has the worst customer service in this area. The manager always has an attitude with Doordash drivers. He would ask you to stay outside to wait for your order. That' s why a lot of dashers complain about this place and will never come back for pick up orders anymore. Despite the reviews we still decided to go and I'm glad we did. Showed up on a rainy cinco de mayo around 12 for lunch. The restaurant was completely empty so we had our choice of where to sit. There was 5 of us and all were satisfied with the food. Chips and salsa are included. Chips were fresh and the salsa has a nice kick to it so we couldn't stop eating it. The margaritas were so good. I experimented with the guava margarita and I wasn't disappointed. I had the pollo a la mexicana as my entree and it was amazing. Had enough food for dinner. After seeing the cute storefront with the scribbled "MOJITO" i had to try this place. Who doesnt love mojitos?? The name just drew me in, the food on the other hand wasnt so appealing. Mojito Cafe is another one of those small restaurants in the neighborhood that is decent ,yet nothing special. A friend and i stopped in for a quiet lunch and found the place cozy and comforable. -I ordered the chicken fajitas which were honestly a bit too greasy for my taste and my friend ordered the arroz con pollo. He also thought the meal was ok but a bit disapointed by the overall presentation and taste of the dish. I do like that the resturant appears to very clean and our waiter was very attentive and kind. i don't know if i'll be coming back to Mojito's though, there are much better and more authentic mexican local restaurants. Pro: Still thinking about that. OK, the decor was nice (except for the very loud music with a speaker above the table). Con: Everything else. Starting with the drinks we knew we should have walked out. The house margarita is made with low grade tequila and a ton of store bought super sweet mix. and also watered down. Not good and very expensive too. The guacamole appetizer was without any taste. Main courses: So we had a party of 6. One had this shrimp special with fried plantains. The shrimp you could tell came from the sea; and by the sea I mean Boston Harbor (1988 days), it was rancid tasting and ill prepared. The plantains were without taste and like cardboard. 2 others had taco's, beef, the beef smelled like it was raw beef but it was actually cooked, the taco itself was actually stale; and most of all no flavor, not the least bit spicy, just bland and bad. I made the mistake of having ropa vieja, a Cuban dish which is suppose to be shredded beef with rice and beans. Instead what came out was beef that looked like Chinese pepper steak with peppers and a sauce that I am not joking I think was sloppy joe mix, like the kind you had as a kid at camp. I did not try the other dishes of the group I was with, but no one in our party had kind words. In the end for 6 entries, 5 drinks and a shared guacamole the bill came to be around 190 with the tip; way over priced. There has been turnover in this location over the years and my advice is to wait for the next restaurant because I cannot see how this will last with these prices and quality. If you want to spend a lot of money and have awesome food, go to Besito in Roslyn and make a reservation well in advance. Sorry, I really was excited to try this place, but in the end I cannot recommend. read more

The food actually tastes like it's made from a true Mexican recipe, and isn't americanized: nachos were delicious and weren't covered in sour cream and the ceviche tastes like a traditional ceviche. Chicken fajitas were delicious. I ordered a mojito and it was definitely water downed but hey - I should have known better and ordered something stronger. The atmosphere could be a lot better and I don't think this restaurant gets enough credit because of it's look and feel.
