Went here for a Mother's Day breakfast and it did not dissapoint. We use to have Colombian breakfast quite often in Queens so we were very excited to find this spot in Mineola. It has all the Colombian classics because it is a bakery as well. If you bring kids or non adventurous eaters they also have typical American breakfast options like eggs, bacon and pancakes. This is my favorite restaurant but I geniunely do not understand why the cashier/worker in the bakery section always has a nasty attitude when taking orders. We were the only people in the entire restaurant and we were just discussing what to purchase and when we asked a single question she looked visibly annoyed. This place is AMAZING! Mi esposa de Medellín y yo, we tried Noches for the first time on Colombia's día de la independencia (July 20) and wow! What a meal; what a great experience. Her words: "my love, if I am ever lost, look for me here." We entered into a genuine Colombian ambiance that felt like a walk into Antioquia. Very friendly people dressed in the uniforms of the Colombian fútbol equipé. Music is just like a Colombian transfusion through your ears and right into your blood. Started with the guacamole; fresh, tasty, better than any I have ever enjoyed at Margaritas Cafe (sorry mi amigos de Mexico) with some yummy mini empanadas. Oh goodness; I knew I was going to have little space for a main course. We did persevere and I am glad we did. The Pechuga a la Colombiana is about the most delicious chicken I have ever eaten. The creamy mushroom sauce is a little too plentiful, but chicken drowning in good sauce never stopped me before. Great maduro and arroz made the little I could fit in my stomach a delicious option. My wife enjoyed the Churisquito, a gorgeous portion of skirt steak with yuca frita, frijoles rojo arroz and a little more guacamole for good measure. Good flavor, but my chicken was the better selection. No room for postres, though I'm sure they are good. The half pitcher of margaritas is large but not very strong. If you're looking to have a quiet night out for dinner, this restaurant probably won't have the atmosphere you're hoping for. My only caveat! When my parents and I came, it was loud and very lively. DJ lights, salsa music and other songs in Spanish blasting, music videos playing on the screens... Come here when you are ready to unwiiiind and enjoy some delicious Colombian dishes! The cheese bread was soft and delicious with cheese baked into it without being clumpy. The salmon was nicely seasoned and the shrimp was crispy with a good amount of batter (not too much!). The drinks also have a nice presentation. Side note: Ordered the beef and chicken empanadas to-go one weekend prior. They're a good size and flavorful with or without the sauces (of which the spicy one I enjoyed the most!). The employees are very friendly and our server was happy to make some recommendations. Highly recommend dining here when you feel like the night is just getting started! I.e., don't go here if you're planning to head to bed after your meal. No, I take that back. Came is for a lunch with colleagues it's a nice place overall but sadly the service lacked. We wanted to sit in a both and were told no it needs to be cleaned I stead of cleaning it for us. One of the people with us asked specific questions about the soup she expressed wanting a vegetarian soup and was told one was but as soon as she got it it had beef in it. I ordered the chicken with cream sauce and shrimp. The serving of the food was huge my food was missing some salt. The side salad was delicious and the yucca fries were underwhelming they were masses and formed versus taking French yuca and deep frying it. Being there are many Colombian places locally I measure by one thing, and one thing only: the beans and this place didn't do it for me BUT though the beans were a disappointment there were some positives: their wait staff, their breaded chicken and their picadita appetizer. The rest was in my opinion, just ok. Would I come back? Not too sure but it seems other people love them because they were full on a Monday night. no empty tables on a Monday night is impressive. My one major complaint was that my sister ordered something to go and they still added the 18% tip to it even though it was to go because there were 6 of us at the table. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday tonight and it was not a good experience. My husband often goes to the NJ location and always had raving things to say about that location. This Mineola location was a definite disappointment. Firstly, we had made a reservation for 8 people for 7 pm but we did not get seated until 7:30 pm. So the service was delayed and our table obviously was not reserved. Secondly, after sitting there for 5 minutes, the hostess came to us and asked us to move to another table. We were inquiring why and she said that a bigger party of 10 were coming and they needed that spot. We're like why did you situate us here and you could not figure that out before you had us seated here. Disorganized at best. Thirdly, while sitting at the table near the entrance, after 15 minutes, a waitress asked my friend to stand up b/c she needed to get a cell phone that the previous customer left charging but the outlet was 4 feet up towards the ceiling. And the waitress had the nerve to ask me to climb up on the booth and get the cell phone and charger for her. I pretended not to hear that part. I can't believe the staff would have the nerve to ask a customer to climb up on the booth to obtain another customer's cell phone and NOT once Apologize for the inconvenience of bothering me and my friend OUT of our seats. Never experienced such bad and poor customer service. You would think we were getting food for cheap or free being treated the way we were. The waitresses had to be flagged down to get us water. None of them seemed to know how to check our glasses and see if we needed more water, more napkins. Overall, Not a good experience. Food was pretty good but drinks way overpriced. Ambience just okay. The cheese bread was delicious. And the empanadas was very flavorful. For dinner I had the chicharrones which I thought was a little bit on the crispy side. The skin was a bit hard to chew. The flavor was there though. I also ordered the spicy bbq wings which was very flavorful. The main course I had the MAR Y TIERRA SALTEADO which I thought was okay. The steak was flavorful but I should have ordered it medium rare because the pan it was on kept cooking it. The shrimp was pretty good. We tried the grilled chicken breast combo which comes with 2 sides. The portion for this dish is huge, the chicken is enough to feed 2 people you may wanna add an additional side. 2. The skirt steak, cooked perfectly. The portion is great and it also comes with 2 sides. 3. Salchipapas meal for kids, it's cute and comes in like a happy meal baggy. My family member's back of the chair was hit almost every time food was leaving the kitchen - the worst one was the floor manager!! Total inconsideration. You could also order alcohol if you have any special occasions, or if you wanna hang out and watch a soccer game they usually have a nice crowd with energy. Just make sure you bring in a good amount of money cause your bill can shoot up quickly if you let it. Lots of variety, everything was yummy, atmosphere was inviting and service was excellent. Don't forget to leave room for the chocolate lava cake! Over all the food was good. The drinks they make there are really good. I recommend the passion fruit one and the raspberry one.
