I really want to like this place as it's my besties go to spot but in the 2 times we've been here since moving here less than 3 weeks ago, they have gotten her meal wrong both times. Both times. I ordered chimichangas at both visits & have yet to be impressed. The last time (just yesterday) the beans tasted odd & were not eaten. We had the same server as the 1st time & both times she was slow in every way. Slow to take our drink orders, slow to get us refills & so slow to get us our check that we had to go searching for someone, anyone, to actually acknowledge that we were trying to leave. There were several servers just hanging out, giggling and pretty much ignoring us. One meal was Sunday before 5pm & yesterday's dinner was before 4pm & there were only 2 other tables of diners. My friend refuses to return food so she just ate what she was given and my leftovers will just go in the garbage. Despite Mexican being her and my husband's favorite food, we'll have to leave the 'lands to find it elsewhere as yesterday's visit was the last for me. Came here after a mid afternoon soccer game before the two hour trek back to the raleigh area. So a bit of a linner. I had the carne asada torta and it was excellent. Don't know where they get the bread but it was solid and real torta bread not a bun or something. Giant size too. Lots of quality food for your money. Place is nice seating area is comfortable. I need to try this place more than once I think. Service is on the better side of what I've experienced in North Carolina. What I didn't appreciate is them attempting to charge my card 4 more times after I left. I don't know why. I'm headed there now to see if it happens again. The food. It's ok. It's not amazing. We are in town from the south west so we know Mexican food. The premium margaritas were like sweet canned juice with minimal tequila stirred in. I had the carnitas and after separating the meat from the fat, half was fat, seriously no exaggeration. We spoke to the manager and he was cordial and offered me more carnitas by I had seen enough. Although it did have a smell of Clorox as we walked through we found it less than clean. Under no circumstances would we go back. read more

I've gotta tell you, when I saw Camino Real was coming to our town I was thrilled. I hated having to drive all the way to the other side of Jacksonville for decent Mexican food so I was so hopeful this new one would be good. So far I have not been disappointed AT ALL. My family enjoys it so much we go every week or two. My favorite dishes so far are the chicken Alambre with that gooey melted cheese all over the top and chicken that's not dry like a lot of other places we've tried, Quesabirrias (that broth OMG), and the chicken Chimichangas filled to the brim with flavorful moist chicken! They had a amazing Friday deal for jumbo margaritas for 6.50$ (1. Deal too good to be true 2. They must be disgusting) we received our margaritas and they were probably the best frozen margaritas we have had yet! But wait... the delicious drinks were not the only thing. FAJITAS! It was 8:30 on a friday night and it was our first time being there, i ordered the carnitas with salsa verde and my husband ordered the steak fajitas. Our waitress had curly short hair, she was really polite and awesome and it was the quickest service we had ever had . The most it took was 15 mins from when we sat down and placed our order. The food was full of flavor and perfect. It was also clean. Overall it was a wonderfull and pleasant expierence. Great job guys keep it up read more

Been to Camino Real a few times & every time we've eaten here, the food & service has been awesome. The staff is very friendly. Every meal we had has been delicious. Meals come out hot. Their chips are delicious, but their salsa is terrible. If you love cilantro then you will love their salsa. We hate cilantro & the salsa has way too much in it.
