This review is for the grooming side only (haven't used the day camp.) My 23 lb beagle mix gets a twice a month bath with special shampoo for his allergies and, because he hates baths and acts like I'm putting him through pure torture, we've opted to go to a groomer for it. Trey has been my dog groomer for over three years now, and he is truly just the best around: incredible groomer, magician with nervy dogs, and just all around kind human. When he moved to Camp Bow Wow earlier this year, it was a no brainer to follow him. He's one of the most reasonably priced groomers in the area and does an incredible job with all sorts of dogs. My dog genuinely loathes bathes and is overall a nervous dog around other dogs. Trey puts him at ease and he comes wagging his tail every time he seems him, even though he knows he's getting a bath. His nails are always filed down and maintained well and he smells so delightful after a groom with adorable fluffy fur! The facility is super clean and I appreciate the dogs are separated for grooming and have their own crates while being groomed. When my dog got skunked when I was out of town last year, for no extra charge, Trey worked his magic and in a couple of visits the smell was almost gone. True miracle worker and I'm so grateful we found him, as it takes a huge headache out of my life and helps me to know I'm always leaving my baby for a few hours with someone I trust. There's a dedicated parking lot for customers and I appreciate that staff is on top of making sure any dog who comes here is up to date on shots/vaccinations. Even though I don't use the day camp services the staff at the front desk are incredibly kind and welcoming to me and my pup and give him little treats and hugs every time we come in. It's a wonderful and welcoming experience and I can't recommend getting your fur child groomed here with Trey enough! read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Camp Bow Wow today. I brought my 7-month-old puppy in for his evaluation, which I was told would last a "minimum" of three hours. Instead, I was called back within about 10 minutes and told that he had "failed" because he was "too nervous." This was his very first time at the facility. He's a puppy in a completely new environment, surrounded by unfamiliar people, sounds, and dogs. Expecting him to immediately jump into the group and be perfectly comfortable within minutes seems unrealistic. He wasn't being aggressive, reactive, or causing any problems. From what I saw watching the camera in the waiting room, he was simply sitting off to the side and taking time to adjust the new environment. What upset me most was that he was not given a fair opportunity. A puppy who is understandably nervous in a new environment deserves patience, guidance, and time to acclimate--not a failure after 10 minutes. Had I known the evaluation consisted of only a few minutes to prove himself, I would have had very different expectations. I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment for all dogs, but I left feeling that my puppy was judged before he was ever given a real chance. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the welcoming, supportive environment I was expecting from a daycare that works with dogs of all ages and temperaments. read more

I have taken my dogs here a few times since I moved to Nashville but after an experience yesterday they will never be returning. I boarded my dogs here for one night and the day of pick-up I checked the cameras in their playroom to see a camp counselor mistreating one of my dogs. My dog had apparently tried to hump another dog and this angered the counselor so much that he grabbed my 28lb dog by the collar, dragged him across the entire playroom and then forcefully tossed him outside. Once outside he started spraying my dog in the face intermittently with a hose as a punishment. When my dog went to hide behind other dogs the counselor followed him, continuing to berate him and point his finger. My dog began cowering and went to hide under a play structure where again the counselor continued targeting him and even pointed the pooper scooper in his face to further scare him. Utterly disgusting behavior and a severe overreaction. I called the front desk and spoke to the manager who called me back after watching the footage and speaking to the abusive counselor saying that this counselor "overcorrected" and that'd they'd be comping my dog's stay but that she still trusts this employee and doesn't think that'll happen again. The manager even pushed back when i asked that this counselor have no contact with my dogs while I tried to find someone to immediately pick them up, saying she "thinks he regrets his reaction" and that I need to "understand doggie day cares can be overwhelming for employees" as if that in any way excuses his behavior. I cannot in good conscience bring my dogs back to a place where they will be mistreated, traumatized, or potentially injured because of employees that can't control their emotions. If they're willing to mistreat animals on camera, just think of the harm they could be doing off camera. read more

My pup has been attending Camp Bow Wow for right under two years now. In that time, we've utilized their day care, boarding, and grooming services and have had nothing but positive experiences. She can have a lot of separation anxiety, but the second we walk in the door, she is ready to play. She runs right to the staff! They are so sweet to her, and I never feel like I have to worry when she's there. I love being able to check in on her during the day via a live stream on the app, and I really enjoy the little reports they share on her when I come to pick her up. Occasionally I will have her nails trimmed while she's there, and I love that they file them down after the trim so that they're not rough and scratchy. read more

I love Camp Bow Wow and so does my pup! The staff at camp has been so wonderful. They are so caring and they love dogs! We were very nervous to see how our dog would do at his interview, but the staff was very supportive and eased my anxieties. He passed and we have found comfort in knowing that when we need to travel our boy is in good care. We love being able to watch him on the cameras because we definitely miss him when he's gone and like to know what's going on. I wish this location had cameras set up in their individual cabins so we could check on him there too. Please know that interviews book well in advance so if you have a trip coming up and want to use Camp Bow Wow, plan ahead to get your pup in for an interview. Also, holidays book quickly so book ahead of time. We love camp and highly recommend it! read more

Horrible experience I see dogs being thrown there when watching my dog. They pay no attention to the dogs. Saw people constantly on their phone. Lots of dogs being humped and attacked and staff did nothing. They spray the dogs instead of correcting them. Take your dog else where. read more

Took my small dog in for an assessment. The staff member never talked to me about my dogs personality or history. Within 10 minutes, I was told my small dog was not appropriate because she wasn't social with the other dogs and only wanted the humans. In the meantime, in the lobby, 2 dogs went after another dog and they took all three of them. Not sure I would want my dog in this facility if this is what happens. I took my pup for an interview there yesterday. The facility looked well kept and a great feature is they have a live stream to watching the rooms at all times for the customers. The interview is also free- compared to some other daycares where you have to pay for an evaluation. I'm more likely to stay with them then test other locations. I did think the rooms were smaller than I had imagined- but I think they are still comparable to other facilities. Each room has an indoor and an outdoor connector. The dogs are split up by temperament and size in 3 rooms. The workers appear to spend more time cleaning and maintaining the area than playing with the dogs- which I'm sure is very necessary and sanitary. It was rainy yesterday so most of the dogs kept to the inside area- however my pup prefers the outdoors- so in my picture it looks like there aren't many. In actuality, I'd say there were ~20 dogs in the same room as mine. read more

they did a good job with my pup, but the prices listed on the app were inconsistent with the prices in the store, and when i asked about the difference, i was treated unkindly. after the appointment, the total was higher than what was shown in the app. i asked for a cost breakdown, but was told that was not possible until after i paid. when i paid and found the difference in cost, i thought asking for help would be met with understanding and compassion (since it was only $15), but they refused to explain the inconsistency because i had already paid, which seemed unfair and unkind. if possible, i would book through the app, and if you don't, just be aware of what you're paying for prior to the appointment. what can purchased individually in the app, may only be offered as a package if paid for in person. $15 certainly isn't enough money to stay upset over, but every penny counts these days. and having 6 people stand behind a desk and take turns telling you that you're wrong makes for a rough afternoon for an anxious girl. read more

My dog has been going to Camp Bow Wow for a few months. Then, one day, we picked him up and noticed that he had a gash in his ear. It looked like a dog had bitten his ear, and there was a pretty deep cut that was, possibly, a full perforation. We had to take our dog into the vet to get it checked out and treated. We were a little surprised no one at Camp Bow Wow told us this had happened. I emailed them to learn more, and never heard back. Finally, after emailing again, I got a call from one of the managers there saying they would look into things. I think this was 3 days later. I was just shocked by the seeming lack of care or urgency on this matter. This is my dog's health... and yet they seemed to not really care at all. Just recently, I asked to be connected with the owner to discuss the matter. He emailed me, I emailed him back about the issue, and he never responded. I've followed up twice... and crickets. Truly incredible. I don't know if I've ever encountered a lack of care and customer service like this. It just doesn't seem like they care about my dog and his health at all. If I knew all of this, I would have never brought my dog here in the first place. Be careful. Find a place that will love your dog as much as you do. These people don't seem to care at all. read more

There are very few places I trust with my beloved fur-babes aside from CampBowWow. I have more peace of mind leaving them here than with loved ones. So much so, that while staying in TN I stayed an hr and half from where I needed to be just so that my dogs could be boarded here. Probably the best thing i like about BowWow is that the larger vs smaller breeds play separately from each other. Also the interview process that each dog must go thru prior to staying makes me feel more at ease that the dogs will mingle well with each other. Another thing I like is that it is quite easy to accommodate my dogs at other locations. For instance , When I want my dogs to stay at a different location other than their primary one all I have to do is call/email requesting that their info be "cloned" to my preferred location. My dogs have stayed at various Camp BowWows (NC, SC & TN) and they consistently provide good care and service. read more

I have these two very well-traveled pups who are a little special. On their third visit to Camp Bow Wow, the desk staff said, "they know they are cool." Yes, that is them. On their first (free) temperament test visit, the staff swaddled them in blankets (our dogs are master manipulators) to take their photos. Ridiculous and cute. The staff are great, and already know the dogs. The only thing that is different here than at our places in Chicago or Atlanta or Louisville is that they require bordatella every six months. That's a minor issue, and we found a good vet in town. We also had to wait a long time to get in for a temperament test, so I highly recommend calling ahead if you're moving to the area. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Seriously, I don't know what I did in life before this place. I have a 2 year old large, high energy Doberman that is sweet as can be and LOVES to play. We have lived all over the country together already, and he has been to numerous daycares. Camp Bow Wow in Nashville is the literal Disneyland of daycares. From last minute overnight requests to my incessant check ins when I miss my fur baby, the staff at this place are like a second family. They give Archie so much love and affection, I sometimes worry he won't come home with me! Other daycares have made Archie feel uncomfortable and scared. Camp Bow Wow is his safe haven. I seriously can't brag on this staff enough. read more

I worked there for afew months staff is rude. Manger hires people with no experience at all, the place is falling apart in yard 3 the ceiling is gonna fall in at any point. Everyone dosent pay attention to the dogs in the yards and just talks to fellow co workers or is on there phone. I highly recommend dog topia in green hills the staff there are incredible with the dogs and are super caring. Another thing DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG OVERNIGHT AT CAMP BOW WOW NASHVILLE no one is there with them overnight and they keep the dogs in there for hours at a time. Staff does not refill the waters as often as they should, staff let's dogs fight and get hurt. read more

Today while watching the cameras I saw the staff spraying the dogs with a squirt bottle for no reason. When i picked him up his mane was soaking wet and he seemed very downtrodden. They said "he must have played in the hose" when in reality I had seen them squirting the dogs. Why giving him belly rubs today I noticed two different what look to be burns that I know were not there when he left for camp. Will certainly never take him back to this place. Anyone who mistreats dogs is evil. read more

My poor pup has come home with some kind of illness every time he returns from this place. Kennel cough, respiratory infections, parasite, and most recently warts and a double eye infection. This has not been an issue at other boarding facilities. There are clearly ongoing sanitation issues that need to be addressed. You will no longer have the privilege of caring for our sweet Panini the tripod. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you want to keep your fur baby happy and healthy. read more

Camp Bow Wow has been so wonderful for our Great Dane Gatlin. I'm able to drop her off in the mornings before work and pick her up later that evening. The staff is always cheerful and they always remember my name. Recently, I took Gatlin in on a Saturday afternoon and asked if she could stay the night. They were full, though. It was my fault as I hadn't made reservations. They went out of their way to make room for her to stay the night and I left knowing she was in great hands. Highly recommended! read more

Perfect place for dogs to have fun! Our dog has been coming here for years and she loves it. We went to every dog boarding facility in the area and even tried a few. I just couldn't sleep when I had to travel because I worried about Padmé, our dog. Once I started bringing her to Camp Bow Wow I began to travel with no worrying. Padmé gets so excited when we arrive that she actually runs away from me. This was sad the first time or two. I was thinking "Don't forget your mommy." Now I'm very thankful that she's so happy. The dogs play together all day. They have separate indoor/ outdoor yards for the different size dogs. They get morning feeding then they play all day. After playing all day they have afternoon feeding, play a little more, bedtime treat, and then they rest at night on their bed. The staff is wonderful. They are always friendly and greet her when she arrives. It amazes me they remember her name. Padmé is in very good hands as they take excellent care of the dogs. You can tell the people there love dogs. I now enjoy dropping her off to play when I travel. read more

I think I am part of the first 50 people who started at this site. At that point I had a very meek dog who like to socialize, but not really the type to play with other dogs. I added another dog a few years later. He is a complete lap dog that would sleep about 23 hours a day if given the opportunity. They both know the name Camp Bow Wow and are always excited to go. However, I told you the first part because I know my dogs go and enjoy being around other dogs in small increments of time. While they don't play with the other dogs they enjoy being there. The staff knows my dog's name but don't always know mine. I like that because my dogs are their customers not me. While I will sometimes use other Doggy Daycare places just to mix it up. My dogs are always excited and will run from me at CBWW. They come home exhausted. (Which is my treat). I recommend them highly. read more

I have taken my daughter dog, Lilly, to Camp Bow Wow since March, 2009. The first few years, she went three times a week and as she got older (almost 9 now), she now goes twice a week. She is never hesitant to get out of the car when we arrive and she falls asleep from exhaustion on the ride home. I visited several doggie day cares and chose CBW because my dog is not left in a crate all day and there is always someone with her. Last year, when my office moved across town, my biggest concern was staying at Camp Bow Wow. Fortunately, it all worked out and she continues to play there over four years since we first walked in the door! Most importantly, I can ALWAYS rest assured she is well cared while at camp. Due to allergies, she is on extensive medication and special food and when she stays overnight, the camp counselors step right in and play Mom without missing a beat. I have even brought in topical medicines and special shampoos and they administered them and saw to her every need. Recently, Camp Bow Wow added a wonderful groomer making it even easier on my schedule to take care of Lilly's needs. They even offer a discount on day care when she is getting groomed. We take Lucy, our Bichon to our local Camp Bow Wow in San Antonio. While on vacation in the Nashville area, we used Camp Bow Wow. Although Lucy was quite nervous after days of traveling on the road, the staff handled her very well. After an hour in Tiny Tots, they were able to integrate Lucy with her new friends. She enjoyed the day and got a lot of mental stimulation. The staff were very friendly and eased our anxiety of leaving Lucy in a new place. I would recommend Camp Bow Wow to all my friends. For years my vacation was almost ruined because I spent time worrying about Gracie. No MORE!!! She absolutely has a ball the entire time she is there and comes home exhausted, well fed and happy. The well-being of my "furry children"(Gretchen and Brutus) are of significant importance to me and my husband. I have researched other day and boarding programs and have not been as impressed as I am about CBW. The staff are kind, knowledgable, and accommodating and will follow specific instructions regarding my "furry children". I call to check on my Gretchen and Brutus and the staff will check with other staff members regarding their stay which includes checking the food logs to make sure they have ate their meals. They are reassuring and give me a detailed update. I live about 45 minutes from CBW and although there are other options I would choose and recommend CBW to anyone who wants quality care and service. FYI the Camper Cams are addicting! read more

Last week was our first visit to the Nashville Camp BowWow. Our Newfoundland puppies been to another Camp BowWow location several times and by the time we got to the front door they figured out where we were and were ready to go play. The staff greeted them like old friends and made them feel right at home. As soon as we got checked in, they were ready to head back to the play yard, glancing back at me with that "bye dad, we're fine" look. By the time I got to the car they were already out in the yard making new friends. read more

Great staff and great facility! This is the only place that I feel entirely comfortable leaving our dogs while we're away.

We have been taking our Frenchie Gus to Camp Bow Wow for over a year and are continually impressed. The staff is friendly and welcoming and takes such good care of Gus. He recently hurt his little puppy back and they noticed immediately and got in touch with us. He still has some minor relapses and they always notice right away and get him into a quiet place to rest. This goes to show how closely they pay attention to the "campers" and really assures us he's at a place that cares. Highly recommend!! read more
