Love this place for my fur babies. They are attentive, willing and assuring that you furry paw baby will be okay in their hands.

My 2 pups have never been to a daycare or boarding facility before. So, this was a big step for them. They are both good with dogs at dog parks, been socialized with other pups fine too. However, my girl has been used for service dog work and always with me. We got our second dog this year and they are great playmates at home as she's not needed to work unless I'm indoors.. We are traveling next March for baseball and trying to cover all bases. We will be staying at a dog friendly home, and saw a Camp Bow Wow in AZ a half mile from our stay. Thought it might be more fun for the dogs to go there then stay home 4-5 hours in a strange place so we should check out our local franchise. The staff here was amazing. Very lovely people and encounters with everyone we spoke with. One of the gals mentioned she brings her own fur baby sometimes and that says enough that she trusts the care and treatment here for her own family. So how did mine do? Well, I had my girl go in first. Our second pup has learned to follow her and thought that would be the best introduction for them as he always wants to go where she does. It doesn't help I just too her to the vet for the vaccines needed to visit and had her nails done and anal glands at the same time.. I think she felt the same stress coming here a couple days later. They said she tried to nip when they put her with other pups, but they let her calm down and relax a bit and then she went in and did just fine. Oddly our newest rescue that shakes at every new experience went in just fine.. again, he knew she was there already, so that went okay. I thank the team here for letting my pups destress and go in with the other. My boys dog looked like he was doing leaps and bounds with others on the doggie cam.. it's a bummer my girl just wanted to lay by the gate and wait 4 hours for me. She didn't cry or do anything bad, nor did Camp Bow Wow, she just wasn't thrilled to be there. I was my big bow get some pats and loves as he will run up for attention, but she didn't get any, and I watched the whole time she was gone (yes, It was a big deal for me too to be away from her).. Not sure if they aren't allowed to go up and pet or comfort dogs that are just laying in the corner, but it would be nice if the did. I will take them back a few more times here in Livermore and see how my girl does. I'm not sure he would do great there without her but might try that too as another option. I just appreciate the people here that didn't give up on letting my pups give doggy daycare a try. read more

Went here for years with our two dogs, who btw, are part bull terrier. However, they didn't look like it. So they were taken in. I should say that was with the previous owner of this franchise. Then new owners came along, and I had heard rumors that this place were "Pit-ists" - unaccepting of bull terrier mixes, however we were never given a hard time or even questioned since we were considered regulars, since 2004. Our 7 month old puppy mixed breed (Husky/Pit/Shepherd) has been socializing since we got him cleared with all his vaccinations at various dog parks, at Wag Hotel in Santa Clara, and my friend's ranch where there are always several dogs of various ages and breeds. The interview at this place wasn't much of an interview. Basically said our puppy barked at a couple of their regulars and then barked at the door to the open play area. However, he was bombarded by a group of 15 dogs barking at him. So of course our puppy will bark. That's what dogs do!! Totally normal! I watched on camera and couldn't believe the incompetency the lady had. It was as if she had more anxiety than anything else. Our puppy was stereotyped as an "attack puppy" and she didn't want to take any time what so ever to have a proper interview session. The owners & employees need to be retrained to learn that ANY dog can be dangerous depending on how they are raised. It has nothing to do with breed. If you want to try this place, make sure you put "mixed breed" on the application if you have a pit mix. Adios Camp Bow Wow! After my rambunctious puppy got kicked out of his regular doggy daycare, I was in a pinch to find care/boarding for him as we were going out-of-town the following week. Bruno breezed through his interview day and has been coming regularly since late July. The staff (Emily, Star, Francesca to name a few; apologies as I'm terrible with names!) are all super sweet and friendly. My dog feels welcome here and is never disciplined for simply being a puppy or having "too much energy" (the main reason he was banned from the other daycare). He also looks forward to his overnight stays (over 10 days added up) and hasn't shown any anxiety so far. I'm told he especially loves the nightly campfire treats (which I believe are 2 biscuits with peanut butter in the middle). Every time I check out the camper cams, he is running around and having a ball. The staff will sometimes let me know who he played with and on occasion have provided me when Camper Report Cards. On Bruno's 1st birthday, they gifted us a Camp Bow Wow goody bag which was awfully sweet of them. Very pleased with this doggy day care and boarding. Only wish they were more centrally located in Livermore but I'm happy to drive the extra miles to go there. Highly recommend! read more

First of all, when you bring two dogs in they are a family and come as a pair. So it does not matter if one "passes" and the other does not "pass" their interview/evaluation. When my wife picked up our puppers, she got a folder full of stuff for Zoe (our little one) and nothing for Bruno (big guy, older, set in his ways). That did not sit well with me. I understand that you said Bruno had issues with the other dogs and you put him on a "time out" and then sent him to a cabin alone, but he was in your care and I would have liked to see a report card. Speaking of sending Bruno alone to a cabin - about 40 minutes after he was with us, he was given a bowl of water and he immediately drank the whole bowl and then 20 minutes later he was still thirsty. I am hoping that the staff gave him water, but from the looks of it - it does not seem like that was the case because he was so thirsty. Here at home he has a water bowl and he drinks only when he is thirsty and never the whole bowl in one sitting. So I am not sure anyone was checking in on him during his time in the cabin. That feeling did not sit well with me either. Most people who know Bruno, knows he is a gentle giant. So maybe the environment and so many dogs stressed him out. I know they said they were going to separate him later with lesser dogs, but I am not sure if that happened. When they called to inform me that Bruno was a "no-go" - I asked if there were other accommodations that could be arranged - like putting him in the little and old paws area with his sister. We saw that Zoe was in the little paws area at times with two other puppers. But they said that could not be done. All in all - our puppers come as a pair and if Bruno can't go to Camp Bow Wow, Zoe won't be either. read more

I have a German Shepherd and a Belgian malinois and we have been taking Twilight and Nico (respectively) to Camp Bow Wow in Concord for months now and they love the place. We are also able to watch them in video which is awesome. They, Camp Bow Wow, are extremely knowledgeable on the care of my pups and I'm extremely happy that I found this wonderful place. It's awesome that I don't have to stress about my dogs when I leave them in a place of care, and I love it when I go pick them up and they act as if they had the best time of their life. We love Camp Bow Wow! We have a giant breed dog and don't trust just anyone watching him. It's such a relief to be able to drop him off here for a few days when we travel and not have to worry. The facilities are clean, and they have cameras so you can check in on your dog while vacationing. The price for boarding is also fair, its about $60 per night. The only down side is that my dog comes back smelly, though its expected since he's playing with other dogs for a few days. They offer to wash your dog before pickup for an extra fee but I usually opt to wash him on my own at home. read more

This is a reply to the business owner's response to my review of the Livermore facility of Camp Bow Wow (since Yelp does not allow me that function). Hello Bruna, Thank you for your extensive reply to my review of your facility (after almost six weeks)! I know that as a business owner you must defend your business at all costs but your response and explanations are neither very compelling nor very credible; to be honest, it is quite laughable for the following reasons: First of all, when I made a reservation at your Livermore facility for my dog for a three plus week stay your staff there insisted that I have my dog vaccinated for Bordatella before boarding even if he was up to date on all vaccines SINCE THERE WERE SOME INSTANCES OF KENNEL COUGH at this facility! Even though he had received his Bordatella vaccine on March 9, 2023 we got him vaccinated again on May 12, 2023 before he began his boarding on June 14. No other boarding facility (including the Brentwood one that you also apparently own) never made such a demand when we boarded him; he had stayed multiple weeks at your Brentwood facility a couple of times (you can check with Georgia, your manager there about the same). Even our vet was surprised by this demand but she complied because we had to board him before our trip. Why would your staff at Livermore make such a demand if there had been no instances of kennel cough at this location? Or is it standard operating procedure just at your Livermore facility because they simply felt like it??? As I mentioned in my previous review, the ONLY reason we switched him from your Brentwood to the Livermore facility is because the latter had a couple of outdoor spaces; otherwise, we would have definitely continued to board him at your Brentwood location! Secondly, the only place that we took our dog to after we picked him up from your facility was to our vet's office to have the severe sores on his rear paws treated; the poor guy had a bandage for almost a week (please see the picture)! There are no other pets at our house. Are you implying that he somehow contracted Bordatella at the vet's office or at our house due to drops of moisture or bacterial infection in the air at one of these locations??? Also, I am really not sure how him sleeping on the concrete floor is going to cause severe sores on his rear paws! Anyway, our vet is Brentwood Family Pet Care (his primary vet is Dr. Kristie Lee who treated the sores on his paws but he was also seen by Dr. Lindsay Heath for the Bordatella cough as the former was on leave). They have every single record of his since he was a ten week old puppy; we are responsible and caring pet owners and have made sure that he is up to date on all of his vaccinations as well as get timely medical care whenever necessary. Feel free to contact them if you want to verify or follow up with them on any matter related to him. BTW, as mentioned in my previous post we have incurred more than a $1000 in vet bills for these issues after we picked him up on July 9th. Please note that I have made no demands on you regarding these vet bills; my review was to inform other pet owners about the issues we had due to boarding our dog at your facility! He also went from 248 pounds to 215 pounds in the three plus weeks he was at your facility (the vet office has a record of this as well). I understand (and accept) that your primary motivation as a business owner is to make money and that you have chosen to do so by providing doggie daycare and boarding at a couple of locations. But it seems to me that in your eagerness to earn money, you folks may be making certain compromises (despite your elaborate description of your business practices ) such as overcrowding, reduced safety measures or precautions, etc. A few other pet owners have also commented that their dogs contracted kennel cough after they had boarded their dogs at the Livermore facility. Could be purely coincidental but I'll let people decide for themselves. I am also willing to bet my last dollar that fair and objective people will likely conclude that our dog contracted his issues at your facility rather than at our house or at our vet's office! Please understand that while doggie daycare and boarding is a business for you, we (the pet owners) are entrusting our four legged and voiceless children in your care. Hence, I sincerely hope and pray that you and your staff will do right by them first (and by us as well)! Enough said!! Other people may be satisfied with your facility but we will never board our dog there - never ever again! Obviously this is a profitable business for you (by the very fact that you own at least a couple of these franchise locations that I am aware of) and your bank balances may be increasing manifold regularly but it will never be at the at the expense of our dog's expense wellbeing!!! read more

Terrible boarding place. I used to use them for almost a decade, but not anymore. I boarded my 3 health dogs in summer of 2022 for 45 days. I then took a vacation to Europe. 15 days into my vacation, I got a call by one of their supervisors saying that my dogs got kennel cough because they failed to check another dog that just came in. That dog spread the kennel cough and got my 3 healthy dogs sick. This call, was at midnight in Italy. The supervisor was very rude saying they don't care for sick dogs, even though they got my healthy dogs sick. Apparently it's camp bow wow policy, even if they got my healthy dogs sick. She insisted I come back immediately, even though it's midnight in Italy and it would take me time to buy a plane ticket back. I said I will call her in he morning time in Italy as soon as I get a ticket. In response she started berating me saying I didn't care for my dogs. Another supervisor called realizing how inappropriate the other person was. Next morning I was on a flight back to the US, when I landed at the SFO, I kept getting texts asking when I was coming to get my dogs back, because the owneR wanted to know. I took my car straight from the airport to Camp bow wow and picked up my dogs. I then got a call from corporate asking how was my experience there, which I explained in detail. The next I heard was that the owner sold the franchise to another person. Regardless of who owns this franchise now, I will never board my dogs there or at any Camp bow wow franchise. I tell everyone who asks to stay away from that company and it's franchises. If I could give them a negative 5 star ratings I would. Avoid this company and it's franchises. The person who used to own the livermore franchise runs another franchise in Sacramento , think about that and how your beloved pet would be treated at any of these franchises. read more

For the price, quite happy with CBW. Our dog always seems very excited to stay here. He is a 25 lb cavapoo, and they group him with the smaller dogs. Love how I can check in on him through the webcams pointed at the play areas via the CBW app. One time our pup was wearing a cone and had an injured foot (not from CBW) but the staff looked after him and made sure he was safe. That gave me tremendous peace of mind. Only docking 1 star because it can be difficult to get a hold of them over the phone. That said, they typically call back within 24 hours or less. read more

I have had my dog boarded at Camp BowWow in Livermore several times but will never go again after the more than $6000 they charged my credit card!! The last time he stayed there, he was involved in an incident where a large dog in the next pen had a tail caught under the barrier between the pens. I was told that my small dog (who never bites or plays with toys) tried to play with it. No attendants were paying attention. I am told the barriers are 1/2" from the floor but have a hard time seeing how a large labrador could actually get their tail under the barrier if that was actually the case and assume the barriers are actually higher. The other dog couldn't get its tail out and was injured and my dog was then kept in a kennel for the remaining 2 days. Camp BowWow accepts no responsibility for the incident despite having unsafe conditions and complete lack of attention by those who are supposed to be watching the dogs. Instead they have charged me an huge amount of money to cover the injured dog. My dog is around other dogs regularly and has never even threatened to bite anyone or play even. If my dog was responsible and could be proven to have bitten anyone, I can see it would be my responsibility, but this wasn't the case. But because my charge card was set up in their system, they just charged me thousands of dollars without my authorization. Keep this in mind when you take your dog there. You could get charged a huge amount without recourse even if the problem was caused by the facility shortfalls and lack of attention on their part. read more

When researching places to board our puppy, I saw a review that said Camp Bow Bow didn't like pit bulls, which made me hesitant to try them. I'm so happy to report that not only did they take EXCELLENT care of our pit mix, he had the best time ever!!! On the app we watched him play with other dogs under the watchful eye of staff, he was given all his meals and supplements consistently, and even got a bath before coming home. Most importantly, the staff were extremely kind, helpful, and attentive. While the required temperament test seemed excessive at first, I totally understand how it helps ensure the safety of all the dogs. I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow!! read more

This is our go to spot to send our dog but we are on vacation. The great thing about Camp Bow Wow is that they have cameras in the play area so that we can keep an eye on our dog whenever we need to see him after being away from him for long periods of time. It gives me a certain level of comfort to know that he's doing well while we are on vacation. The staff is amazing and always treats my dog well. They also do a good job giving him an exit bath before we pick him up so he is nice and clean before he comes home with us. So I was recommended to bring my dog here first we had to bring her for an interview to make sure she was good to be sleep over there, and she was so we brought her there for two nights. The cool thing was we get to see live video of the dogs when they're playing. Unfortunately I got to watch my dog being humped by multiple dogs and nothing being done besides a few squirts of the spray bottle. I called in and they were able to take her out of there but when she was out back in the next day more of the same. I screen shot photos of this happening on my phone and eventually called a second time as Nola was cornered by another dog outside and not being watched. Maybe it's just us but our experience was not pleasant. If you notice in the photo my dog is being humped by the white dog but that was only the first of many times without anything being done. The staff was good I just think it wasn't a fit for our dog. read more

We dropped off a very happy and healthy dog and picked up very thin, lethargic, covered in urine, and ill dog. Took her to the vet and they found she had a very high fever of 105.0F, a swollen neck, and lost about 3 lbs while at Camp Bow Wow in a week! I called daily while she was there and the camp assured me that she was eating but she refused to eat the same kibble at home and they told me she was doing great. My dog ended up in the emergency hospital and spend a week there and received a major surgery to help with her inflamed and swollen neck. Her surgeon believes she got a foreign object lodged into her throat that caused the infection and injury while she was at Camp Bow Wow. When I let the camp management know they didn't take any responsibility at all. My experience with them was not good during these hard times. Dogs are treated better in a shelter! I would never go back there. read more

My dog has been to camp a couple of times and has a blast every time! He's a rescue with lots of anxiety towards humans, but the staff takes their time to go slow with him so he feels safe and comfortable in this new environment. The staff is seriously the best team of doggie caretakers I've ever come across. Will highly recommend for anyone with pups. They take so much prinde in caring for all the pups that they even have a "Free Treat Tuesday" that are custom treats made by the staff! read more

Camp Bow Wow Tri Valley never disappoints - I highly recommend them for boarding your fur babies!

This place deserves absolutely no stars, but Yelp makes you submit at least one. View the pictures attached to this review to get an idea of how our dog was treated during her stay at Camp BowWow. She was viciously attacked by another dog, completely unprovoked on our dog's end (told to us by Camp BowWow), and was given next to no care immediately following the attack. We as the parents were not notified until the following day after the attack happened; we were never called the night the incident occurred by the counselor that witnessed the attack, we also never received a call from the manager who was made aware of the entire situation after it took place. BTW, it is Camp BowWow's protocol to call the owners immediately after an incident like this occurs, a call we never received until the following day! Complete and total negligence. Our dog was left ALONE overnight in her kennel, with multiple wounds to her leg, that were not treated by a veterinarian the night of the attack. When we were finally notified of the incident, the FOLLOWING day (we were out of state flying home) my husband and I were beyond upset; just a complete mess. I begged Camp BowWow over the phone to allow us to come get her that evening (especially since she was left overnight alone untreated by a vet the day prior), but they refused to stay open passed their closing time for us to pick her up. One would think a company would honor this to two very upset parents, and loyal Camp BowWow customers for several years leading up to this point, but most importantly given our dog's condition; but nope, they would not stay open, which then forced our innocent dog to stay a second night ALONE while under sedation / medication (note: the following day after the attack our dog was FINALLY taken to a vet and when we, the parents, were also finally notified). I mention our dog was "left alone overnight" because no one is on duty overnight at this place. I cried at the airport and for almost the entire duration of our flight, not knowing exactly what happened to our dog, knowing we would not be able to get her as soon as we got home, and now being faced with the harsh reality that our sweetheart of a dog was going to be left overnight for 2 nights, in a kennel, after being viciously attacked. When we picked her up the following morning (right when they opened) the pictures attached are what we came home to; and might I add we were CHARGED for this visit!! They refused to give us our money back! How do you run a business like this!? Arlette, the owner, should be ashamed for how they treated our dog and us; appalling!! Her and I had ended up having two very upsetting conversations over the phone (I could not and still cannot believe some of the things she said to me, and the manner in which she spoke to me). Furthermore, there is a video of the attack, which we as the owners wanted to see, because we found it very hard to believe their reason for not calling us the night of the attack was based on our dog "appearing to be ok." So yes, we wanted to see the video. Look at the pictures and tell me how that could ever appear to be "ok"!? How were we not contacted moments after the incident occurred!? All questions we wanted answers to, and to help us better understand what happen to our dog, we deserved that, but Arlette would not allow us to view the tape. Raises the question for me and my family...what are they hiding? This place is appalling, I'm disgusted everyday by it; I think about it all the time. This is something our dog should have never had to go through, and nothing my husband and I should have ever been put through. Find another place to care for your dog, because if something unfortunate should happen to them, say a dog attack like in our case, this heartache could happen to you and your dog aka your family member. PS Our dog had to wear a cone for a week, and we had to lay sheets down all over our house because of her leaky wounds. We reported this incident to animal control. Camp BowWow failed to ever report the attack which is illegal in Alameda county; dog attack related issues are required by law to be reported within 24 hours. read more

Our dog was boarded at the Livermore Camp Bow Wow for 15 day while we were on vacation. Our poor girl had lost so much weight, she was skin and bones. She went from 70.9lbs to 64.2lbs. She is a lean dog so that is a tremendous amount of weight to lose. When questioned what happen was told that she was eating and they even increased her food, which is hard to believe. They thought maybe it was because she was getting more exercise but seeing how they don't get much exercise on weekends and we were gone over Thanksgiving so there was another 4 days with limited exercise, that didn't make sense. At no time did they call the people on our emergency list to inform them of the drastic weigh lost. We were so sad and upset to see the condition she was in. She doing fine now and slowly gaining back the weight she lost. Needless to say she will not be returning to Camp Bow WOW!! read more

I will preface this review and say, I am not a 'dog person'. So it was with a bit of hesitation I went to the Camp Bow Wow Grand Opening. I have a good friend who works there and I went at her invitation. I must say that I was very impressed with this place. Tours were given , so my daughter and I went thru to check out the facilities. I could not believe the way they take care of their 'campers'. They have spacious kennels, large play areas both in and outdoors, bathing area, state of the art kitchen to mix up tasty treats. It was spotless & best of all...it didn't smell like a dog!! (you must remember I'm not a dog person...no offense intended!) I told my friend after the tour: "almost makes me want to get a dog...but not really!" The staff are top notch...they love dogs and it shows. If I did have a dog...I would definitly have Camp Bow Wow in my address book! read more

What an utter and total disappointment this establishment turned out to be. We decided to trust them with our beloved poodle after checking them out... loved loved LOVED the "all day play" that was advertised with their boarding facilities as well as the pics of play structures. We also liked that they took the time to go through an "interview" process. We were fine with the surcharge that came with the holidays for "extra staffing" which turned out to be a joke. We dropped our guy and left on a plane... checked the webcams since we were told he was going to have 7-8 hours of play a day. We saw him very few times... and by "play time" they mean wandering in an overcrowded pen with 20 other dogs.It was so overcrowded there was no room for running and playing. There was one person standing in the the middle appearing to break up hump sessions or scold rambunctious pooches. Play structures had been removed due to lack of space. We called to find out where our pup was and were informed they were so crowded they were taking them out in staggered groups - so no 7-8 hours a day and why am I paying a surcharge for extra staff?? In addition, there were webcams on other yards/pens that would have one solo dog wandering by himself. The "icing on the cake" was the phone call that we needed to have someone pick up our pooch asap, since he had developed kennel cough!! (I am sure due to lack of cleanliness and over crowding)... they assured us it was no big deal as he "was their first case in 3 weeks"... it has a 3-10 day incubation period and this was his 10th day. So not only did I lose days I paid for, I incurred a large vet bill. NEVER AGAIN. Zero stars. Anywhere but here. read more

What they don't tell you on their website is that they'll take any dog UNLESS they have bull terrier or pitbull blood! Wanted to board my 5 month old puppy there for 5 days and he fit all the requirements listed on their website. - At least four months old - Spayed or neutered (if six months or older) - Current on Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccines - Bordetella vaccinations are accepted in the intranasal and injectable forms - Bordetella vaccinations are not accepted in the oral form - Flea/tick free and in good overall health - No open wounds or stitches of any kind - Wearing a quick-release collar - Dog and people friendly - Able to pass the interview and trial day Checked off all of the above and my dog is completely dog and people friendly. Filled out the application so we can set-up an interview and have them meet our pup. We get an e-mail back saying "Unfortunately as much as we love all dogs of all breeds, we are not taking Bull Terriers at this location at this time..." What the hell???? Does it really matter what kind of dog he is???? These guys obviously have pre-conceived notions of certain breeds and wouldn't even take the time to meet him or do a temperament check. We found another highly recommended place in our area and took our pup there. When we picked him up after our vacation, the folks gushed about how friendly and lovable our baby was. I really like Camp Bow Wow and my dogs absolutely love it. They charge out the car excited to be going there. So they are the true judges for me. Kennel Cough can be an issue - but unfortunately I hear that dogs can catch this even if vaccinated, so it seems like the vaccine needs to be updated. There are so many dogs interacting that its just bound to happen. My only complaint is I would like my dogs to have more playtime, then kennel time. I pay for them to play, socialize, interact and be tired when I pick them up. So I would like to see more of that, and less cleaning during social - play time. read more

I am in love with Camp Bow Wow and how it truly feels as safe as home when I leave my two pups with them. We've been going there for about 8 years and have been happy with every visit. There are never issues, they give our dogs tons of love and attention and every time I see my dogs on the camper cams they're running, playing or getting pets from the staff. Their tails are up and they are always happy! My dog was going to daycare here about 3 times a week for a few months up until recently. My husband and I boarded him for 5 nights while we went out of town and we were already nervous because this was the first time our dog had been away from us. He has separation anxiety so I called three days into his boarding to check up on him. I was told over the phone that he was doing great, he was happy, and that there were no issues. We go to pick him up a couple of days later and are told that they had experienced "behavioral issues" with him and we need to address those before he is allowed back at daycare. The employee said that he was too high energy and that he wasn't playing well with a couple of puppies. If this was the case, then why was this not addressed when I called two days prior? And why continue to keep the problematic puppies in the same playgroup as my 65 lb, teenage dog? The employees tried to pawn off dog trainers on us that would help "fix his behavior and energy" before he would be invited back to daycare. He is already in training classes and does extremely well with us and the other dogs. For the next couple of days after we picked him up he was acting extremely skittish and nervous, seemed incredibly stressed out, and was as thin as a rail. We had to double his food because he had lost so much weight in only 5 days. I'm convinced they were not being truthful with me about his time there. We had NEVER had an issue with him at his previous daycare. We have taken him to dog parks, have had playdates with other dogs, taken him to training classes, etc. and have had no problems with him. He is a 65lb, year old, high energy dog who should not be put in the same playgroup as dogs that do not share his size or temperament. That should be pretty standard for a place that claims to know how to take care of dogs. But the dogs are not separated correctly. I've seen on the webcams up to 25 dogs of all different temperaments in the same play group. After doing some research, other day cares in the area only allow 10 dogs max in the same group and they match them up by age, size, and energy level, which is what CBW is supposed to do. The employees do not actively engage the dogs either. They just stand around with a squirt bottle and spray dogs that get too rowdy. I paid $36 dollars each time I put him in daycare and over $300 for boarding only for them to pin their inability to properly do their jobs on our dog. Other issues we have had: Our dog had come home multiple times with cuts and marks where another dog was too rough with HIM (as told to us by the employees). Yet, he is the one being excused from daycare. He also contracted kennel cough from this establishment TWICE. They told us we were more than welcome to bring him back after a couple of months so they could see how he was doing. Don't worry, we will not be bringing him back. Dog Dynasty and Livermore Ranch Kennels are cheaper and they handle the dogs' play much better. read more

I have not actually used this doggy day care. But when I have tried it just seems to be way too much effort. They either don't return calls from leaving a voice mail message or their hours are super restrictive to where it's not practical. ORRR you have to pass their socialization test. Seems to just not work compared to other options. read more

For years Camp Bow Wow Livermore was a wonderful resource - I would take my Chocolate Labrador, Bailey there about once a week. She would spend the day playing with staff and other dogs, get a bath and come home pleasantly exhausted. The staff was kind and the prices were reasonable. Because of how regular we attended I started purchasing days and baths in bulk (10 to 20 at a time) in order to receive better pricing. And again, this worked great for years - until Bailey was hurt and the vet informed me that she could no longer experience days like Camp Bow Wow offered - we would have to lay low. So I sadly contacted Camp Bow Wow to see about a refund of the days and baths that I had purchased in bulk. I was informed by the owner that per their website they do not give refunds. Honestly, I did not keep track of exactly how much I had built up, but believe it to be around $700 - $800. After many emails with the owner I was refunded just $225. She explained that I would be given a discounted rate on the days I had purchased and then assessed a $60 "Camp Bow Wow Fee" and a $60 "Credit Card Fee". I feel they stole hundreds of dollars from me, and warn anyone against purchasing their "packages" - as even if your dog is crippled or dies - NO REFUNDS! read more

Beware! They will keep your deposit even after cancellation. Seems the company is in need of every dollar and can't afford to issue refunds. The owner Arlette Woods, refuses to respond. Franchise President, was Cail Morrison was not helpful. Hopefully the BBB can help resolve this. I wouldn't trust this place with my dogs. read more

The staff is always very friendly! My dog seems to get really excited and eager to play when we get inside. I've watched the camper cams a bit and I did have to call once because a dog was repeatedly mounting her. Once the dog was removed everything went back to normal! Certain counselors are more observant than others. Overall, Camp Bow Wow is a fun and safe option for my dog! She seems to enjoy her time there. I wish they had a stronger social media presence because people love to see pictures of their dogs! read more

Make that ZERO stars. Just called to set up an interview for my sweet, affectionate, extremely well-behaved, rescue pup, but they refuse to even interview a pitbull. ANY other breed is OK, even other wrongly stereotyped "dangerous" breeds. When I asked why, this was the response: "It used to be by policy, but now it's just the owner's preference." I hope many of you read this and refuse to give the owner of this business your money. Hasn't this breed suffered enough? You should be embarrassed. read more

We've boarded our dog at BowWow for the past 5 years with mixed experiences. She often comes home hoarse (lots of barking), but the past two times she's come home sick :( She seems more stressed and tired when she comes home, and with the throwing up and diarrhea for days afterwards, we're now looking for other solutions. If you're thinking about it, ask to see the back (a warehouse) and ask about how often the dogs are out of crate, esp on weekends and holidays when the staff hours are limited. read more

First off, my dog had to do a half day interview here before he can get accepted to be boarded here! My kid didn't even have to do a half day interview when he signed up for preschool! So after taking a day off s that I can take my dog to and from his interview, we get accepted. They are pricey. The boarding for my 20lb mutt costs almost as much as 1 ticket to the Bahamas from SFO! The main The main plus to tis place was we could watch him online as he plays in the play areas. But when we tried, we only got to see him afew times as they are only allowed in the play areas a few times a day. If you have more than 1 dog, it would be cheaper to get a dog sitter than to board here. read more

We love CBW! Our pup Pepper gets so excited the second we turn the corner to drop her off. She's a high-anxiety pup, so the fact that she gets excited to go there is huge. We always know she's a well taken care of whole we are out of town. The staff is friendly, and also love being able to check in via webcams. read more

When I take my girl to Bow Wow I know that she will be safe, well cared for and have a great time with the other "campers". The staff are so caring and actually remember my pet and myself. Highly recommend. read more

My dog had an "interview" today and passed! Their interviewing process requires that your dog spend at least 3 hours here so that they can monitor your dog's behavior. Actually, what's really cool, is that they encourage you to keep your dog there all day. So, yeah, it's a free day at doggie daycare! They have 3 large-ish play areas (indoors and outdoors): 1st area for mellow dogs, 2nd area for high energy dogs (that's where my pup played) and a 3rd area for small dogs. 3/4 of each area is indoors and the other 1/4 is outside, with a little kiddie pool for the dogs to splash around in. They have a ton of kennels for overnight campers and daycare nappers. They're roomy and clean. Nothing fancy but it'll do. When I was there today, it wasn't packed (maybe about 15 or so dogs). Even though they've been open for a couple of months, their official opening hasn't happened yet. I'm guessing that camp will be filling up once that happens. It's a nice and clean facility. Staff is super friendly. And most importantly, my dog had a great time. She's sleeping right now. She's all tuckered out from playing all day with her new buddies at Camp Bow Wow! read more

They deserve a high rating because the ownership and management are dog people. They care more about the animal than pure profits and that is a great sign. We boarded our dog for 4 nights on a recent trip, and when we had an issue, the camp helped with the resolution and based their decision with the dog perspective. Great place to leave my little Monty (aka. Cairn Terrier) when I'm gone for the day so I know he's not lonely and he's having a blast! The employees are super friendly and always happy! For me, it's important that my Monty has fun at doggie day care, and that he comes home super tired! This of course, always happens at Camp Bow Wow. Also, they remember the owner when you pick your baby up, also important to me, as I don't want to worry that someone else could pick up my little guy. They say they ask for ID if they don't recoginize you, but they havent asked me yet. Very clean, very friendly, and if you want to see where they spend the night they will take you back there and give you a quick tour. Which is good for those us who feel bad leaving our babies in a kennel all night. Trust me, they are really really large wired kennels with concrete on the floor, and a little cot that keeps them off the floor at night. You are welcome to bring anything you want if they are staying overnight...so like all the toys, his own bed, and his special food are all welcome. I rate it 5 stars and try and take my little man there as often as I can! Only down side is they don't offer day care on the weekends...which would be nice considering when we do home improvements it's on the weekend, or if we know we'll be out all day at a party or BBQ or something...but thats the only downside. read more

I was in New York for a week with my husband and it was great to be able to check in on the dogs on the cameras no matter where I was with the app. I also appreciate that they don't charge extra to give my one dog his required medication twice a day. They also get little treats at the end of the night. We found camp bow wow when our dog sitter cancelled the night before our 10 day trip to NY and they were able to get in both of our dogs. (Thankfully we had all their paperwork and shots up to day! They do check that which is great!) The dogs were able to bunk together and we got a multiple dog discount. We have definitely found out dog boarding facility. We have tried others in the area once or twice but they are more expensive and they stay in a crate unless you pay extra like we did to get them walks. Not at Camp Bow Wow. They are out most of the day playing with the other dogs and there is always a human supervisor watching over them. read more
